I'm actually feeling quite positive about this season coming up. I'm satisfied with the signings although I expect there to be more to add, satisfied due to no champs league etc
I do like Rodgers as manager but his deficiencies let him down last year but hopefully with the two new assistants and his neck on the line he will converse and hopefully be able to adapt his tactics to give us more of an experienced team. Although I loved Gerrard over the last 18months I often thought we played better without him and that influence which will no doubt be missed will also be felt in an alternate way like 11 players will play for each other rather tHan pass to Gerrard and wait for something to happen which has been the case in recent years.
Also for those who believe in twisted fate Gerrard give us years of loyal service and missed out on the crown of premier league it would be shit luck and totally typical of we went on to bloody win it. I recall feelin sorry for Carra when we came close in the season previous. I thought it was in the bag 3 or 4 games to go and thought of Carra had of stayed he would have had a medal.
But trying to not get carried away with the typical sentimental romance of supporting Liverpool if those boys put in the effort and we can have some consistency with sturridge I expect us to do well. It is a very talented group of players if O'Driscall can get them to play as a collective unit then I think we can hold a steady season. Let's face it they can't underachieve as much as they did last year. I don't see us winning the league Chelsea City Arsenal are all stronger tHan us over the 38 games but I am hopeful that we are better than Spurs Southampton etc and am hopeful van gaals arrogance will cause utd some problems along with champs league pressure. i for one will be supporting the club from day 1 to the last whistle of this campaign. Please let's not embarrass ourselves by flying planes over the stadium. Let's stop bashing them if u don't like it fook off and support someone else. This club will reach the top again someday just enjoy the ride until we get there. The way some people post on here is typical of the deluded world we live in. If it were that easy everyone would be managers of football teams.

Very very good post mate, but my confidence in rodgers is pretty much obliterated at this point.

If he did get his sh!t together and stop fannying around and got us playing really well again, say we even come second again, whose to say he wouldn't just do what he did this season - spend too much money, revert back to his terrible 'tiki taka' football because he can do no wrong, not be efficient with the squad etc. Why wouldn't he? He did it last time didn't he? So i just can't ever trust him to continue any success properly because if he did, he would never get off his high horse and be humble.

I don't trust him anymore because he betrayed my trust in him last season. Until he earns it again via improvement in his coaching and human side, I will remain unconvinced
