I think Suarez leaving now allows Brendan to play his favoured formation. I feel he felt with Suarez and Sturridge he had to play 2 up top, whereas he would have preferred to play 4-2-3-1. This formation change will allow us to defend better, resulting in less goals being conceded. If we score as many as last season it's going to be another exciting season!

With it looking like we will miss out on Sanchez, I would be more than happy with us getting our hands on Lukaku. I feel we need another top class striker option and there are not many better out there than Lukaku.
Forward options of Sturridge, Lambert, Lukaku and Borini should suffice.

Rodgers said we need players for the starting 11 in this window. If that's the case, and the fact we need 1 or 2 extra attacking midfielders/wingers/strikers then we have to go all out for Alexis Sanchez. He is by far the best forward player we are being linked with and if rumours are true that he is available then we need him.

Fellow LFC fans

I think we all need to calm down and take a breath.
I too have been caught up in the transfer windows and have been urging BR to go out and improve the squad.
But when you look at our squad, you'll realise we don't need that many players.
Yes we have a long list of injured players, but just because you have injuries you cannot justify going and buying more players and paying more wages.

Let's for example look at the left back position. Our first choice is Enrique (injured), followed by Cissokho (fit). Then we have Flanagan (injured) and Johnson (injured) who can both play there. Yes 3/4 are injured, but you cannot just go and spend spend spend on getting players in whilst these players are injured. What do you do when they are all fit?

Please remember where we are in terms of players and competing. BR said when he first came in that the priority was to build a good squad. He has done that. His next job was to improve the starting 11. This is where we are at now.

We are not a rich club, so have to be careful with our spending, especially as we are making a loss. Put it this way, would you go out and buy a TV for £350 if you thought it was valued at £200? The answer is no. This is exactly the position LFC are finish themselves in.

If you are a true Liverpool fan you should understand this and support the development and progression of the club. Would you prefer us to be competing or a club like Leeds who fall and struggle?

Lucas has said on Twitter that it's not a serious injury and will be back in a couple of weeks! That's good news. Maybe we don't need a DM urgently now.
