The weekend performance for me was the best I've seen us play since the Rafa title challenge year. I think reds fans need to stand up and take note of how much progress we have made over the past 18 months. Rodgers has not only brought a style of play to our football, he's brought in a winning mentality to the team. At the start of the season we did seem to labour through games (especially in the second half) but we STILL got the result. Now the team has transformed this winning mentality and now are putting teams to the sword i.e Spurs, Norwich, West Brom, Crystal Palace etc. Admittedly, the defence has had is issues this season, I think mainly due to injuries and the fact that Rodgers still doesn't know his best defensive line up. Now with the rise of Flannagan and the return of Kelly (hopefully with a sustained period without injury) it seems that we beginning to create a depth to our defence which is a major factor in my opinion. The even more positive note from the weekend is that the average age of the team on Sunday was only 24!
With all this in mind, I still think Top 4 should still be our realistic goal for the season - (You simply can't rule out Man City, Arsenal are very strong this season, Chelsea joint second without a functioning striker and without really performing, and also the game at Hull where we were non existent) On the other hand, if Rodgers secures some quality arrivals in January (Winger, CAM) who knows what we can achieve? All that is evident is that we have the best player in the world at the moment, a potent attacking force, young success hungry players and one of the best PL goalkeepers all in the current team. We also can't forget about the prolific Danny Sturridge and the re-invigorated Stevie G to return.

This is is my honest opinion on the current state of affairs at the club and I don't think this is an over/under expectant one. I really can't wait for the Xmas period to begin and I'd like to wish all fellow reds a Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

P.S My prediction for Saturday 3-0, Suárez (2) and Coutinho.
