Gents,

I am happy with our points return over the first 4 games and would be happy with another 10 in the next 4.

My concern is that we have lost our attitude that it is our right to win.

Swansea are mid table team on a good night. If we are gong to scale the heights of expectation then they are a team that we should be demanding we beat.

It is clear we do not have enough match fitness to maintain the tempo required for BR's game plan and this will come over the next month.

The influx of new faces will take a little time to blend in and hopefully Suarez is settled over the next 3 months and ensures our season is not over by Christmas.

Just seen the starting eleven. Very stable and if toure was not injured we would have had the same line up 3 weeks running!

Bench is a little light weight for mine today.

However I am confident we will get the chocolates and win 2:1

C'mon you Reds

I am with many on the forum and not too fussed about not spending 30m on Willian. For that sort of money I would expect a 20-30 goal a season player. A bigger concern for me is if we missed out on a player because they felt Spurs to be a more attractive option and more ambitious than us. We need to compete in the 20m plus range for players. More importantly when we do pull the trigger we need to get it right. Carroll, Downing, Borini, Allen and Hendo represent close to 100m of spend. I would expect 5 walk ups in our 11. We have Suarez, Sturridge and Coutinho. The two players we are missing is the difference between us finishing 6th and challenging the top 3.

Let's hope we finish the transfer window with a net spend and get a couple more in to help the push.

A positive result against Villa and it will set up a belter with United

The season is upon us and I can't wait for the kick off against Stoke tomorrow.

No doubt we have made progress and I optimistic of a more positive start to the season than that of last year.

Tomorrow we will see the intensity of games increase significantly from pre-season and only then will we get a gauge on the quality of Iaspas and Alberto and whether they will be able to make an impact.

Toure and Mignolet are known quantities.

I would have liked us to have acquired at least one more player (besides Mignolet) that is a walk up starter in our first eleven that is guaranteed to make an impact.

One of the most sensible things I have heard in the last two weeks, was Gerrard's suggestion that the window close before the first game.

Onwards and upwards, let's get a win to take the focus off the pre-season will or won't he saga that has been done to death.

C'mon you Reds!

I live in Australia and had to watch the Celtic game on cable ia the US Espn channel. What struck me was the negativity of Steve Nicol as a commentator. Did not have a positive thing to say about the team or Rogers. Not sure what his beef is, but it was pretty poor!
