I think Klopp is out of our reach he is ready to manage a ready made team in the champions league not re build another Dortmand. The manager I would go for is Ronald Koeman tactically astute, would command the respect of the players & would draw players to LFC more than Rodgers can I listened to a interview with him he has learnt under the best including Cruyff at Barca so we would play good attacking football but have a sound defence !

{Ed001's Note - surely we should be going for a manager who has more than one good season? We made that mistake going for Rodgers. If you are going for an inexperienced manager, you need to appoint from within. That is why Borrell should have been appointed rather than Rodgers, he might not have worked either, but he knew the club.}

Who would your realistic targets be Ed?
I agree with the poster about Klopp being out of our reach. I doubt he'd leave Dortmund to join us. I think he's destined for a bigger job at a champions league club.

{Ed001's Note - I would still target Klopp, no matter how unrealistic, he has gone on record as having a soft spot for Liverpool, he has gone on record as saying he wants to build a club for the future, not take over a finished job. Just go get him and offer him anything he wants! Anyone else would feel like a boobyprize anyway with Klopp on the market. Unless it was Bielsa, he would be attainable for sure, but not sure he is a long term answer, even though I love him.}

Ed01 do you know if the owners are even interested in klopp? Yes we all think they should be, but are they actually making efforts to get him?
Thanks

{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware no contact has been made by the club.}

ED 001 out of curiosity,do you think what he said about building a club was a dig at Pep? a lot been said about him taking Bayern because of their dominance and clout. It did seem an easy option to take in terms of management. I was just wondering if there is any ill feeling there?

{Ed001's Note - it is possible it was a veiled dig, but then he would look a right hypocrite if he waltzed in to a similar role himself.....}

Ed1, respected German journo Raf Hoginstein suggested yesterday that Klopp would "find it very difficult to turn us down" and all that's preventing us from appointing him, as things stand, is his belief that FSG believe in Rodgers and are unlikely to sack him. As you suggest he's all but gone from the Liverpool side of things, and from the German point of view he seems interested, I'm firmly of the belief he's all set up to take over, although I'm not sure whether that's my head or heart speaking!

{Ed001's Note - like I said, he has publicly admitted an affection for us, so why would he not be interested. He might not take it, but FSG would be idiotic not to go and try and get him. If they make the decision not to approach him, then quite simply every one who is involved in making the decision not to try should never be involved in football ever again, as they clearly have no aptitude for the sport.}

Totally agree with you Ed001. I pray that the people they've brought in to conduct the review, provide advice, guidance and recommendations to move the club forward really know football inside out. And with that, understand that someone like Jurgen Klopp doesn't come onto the market often, and therefore must do everything possible to bring him in.

Imo, I believe BR (and he's really done my head in with his game plan, and interviews) had his day months ago, and that the only reason that FSG hasn't already removed him is because they don't want to bring in a temporary person, hence waiting till the end of the season. Personally, I think he should have gone in December, maybe LFC could have appointed someone from within for the 5 or 6 months!

Totally agree that klopp must be approached,nothing ventured ect,he has to be the most interesting option for any club in Europe particularly us after our season/his comments about LFC.Not trying to antagonize a eds because I really enjoy the work /humour you all put in but dare I say it I recently read a article that Bielsa's tactics had been found out in France and his team was struggling for results
