Ed's, I read somewhere that we are looking at Jeffrey Bruma who has been on loan at Hamburg. Do you know if this is true or just a random rumour? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware but he is available.}

Just want to add my 2 cents in regards to Ryan Bertrand. He clearly isn't the next roberto carlos or jordi alba but after watching him play a bit last year (mate is a villa fan) he is a solid left back who rarely gets beaten 1 on 1, has very good positional sense and is quick in both short and long bursts.

I could see Moreno as another Glan Johnson who comes up with some great attacking displays from time to time but will cost us countless goals as he cannot defend. Bertrand will make us a much better defensive outfit but is athletic and technical enough to help us going forward also. My main issue with him is that he is sloppy in possession at times and but I think BR will help improve him.

One question for the ed's, if we are unsuccessful in our chase for Lovern do you know of any other CB targets we might turn to? Looked through the posts but could only find people begging for Hummels (ideal but think he would cost too much if sold at all)

I can understand why people are annoyed about how spurs are buying some good players this window, but they are also losing Bale who was by far and away their best player for the last 2/3 seasons. When he was out for a spell at the end of last season they struggled to win. I have no doubt that on paper the players they bought will fill the void for them once he moves to Madrid.

However, there is little guarantee they will adapt to the premiership. Lamela looks a great prospect but apart from Coutinho, who was struggling in Italy, I cannot think of many players in recent history who have moved to England from Italy and have been a great success. The pace of the league is completely different and as much potential that he has I feel $30 million might be a gamble. Eriksen is another, it is clear that he has some issues when no Champions league teams have come in for him at what appears a low cost. I don't know what it is but with so many teams looking to sign attacking players I would have thought there would be more competition for his signature.

I would love us to sign a top class center back and winger before the window closes as I feel with suarez still to come back into the team we would have a starting 11 to match anybody in the league with a solid squad to back it up. People keep saying the players we have aren't good enough but United have won the league before without the best players in the world. I believe Rodgers has the team playing in a way that will bring success. Big test this weekend let's hope the good form continues.

Eds, I have read that we are close to signing Pedro Chirivella, a U16 player from Valencia who is supposed to be the next big thing from their academy. The story is from a spanish paper so I don't have a clue how reliable it is. Have you heard anything regarding the player? {Ed052's Note - no}

Ed's with all this talk of Suarez to Real Madrid it looks more and more likely that it will happen, do you think Canales or Jese Rodriguez could potentially be used in a deal to take Suarez to Madrid? I feel like they would be good purchases based on their perceived potential and they might be easier to attract without champs league or big wages than someone like Benzema. I don't know if you have any insight into if they would be available, we have had them watched or they are good enough but any info would be great. {Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}
