Ed002, you seem to be onto to these things, so I'm thinkin with regard Jose Reina, is there a chance of a 'mutual termination' of his contract? Would that involve a pay off as well from Liverpool? Its seems awfully difficult to shift him when the club don't want him and you've said its down to wages. Is there anyway around this or do Liverpool simply want too much of a fee for him?

I've read LFC have already lowered the fee for Assaidi as you had mentioned, so surely there must be some interest in Reina at a low fee? Surely something can or will be worked out? Are we just holding out to get the best possible terms?

Also do you see Ilori moving to Dotmund? I don't know what we were doing signing the lad if we won't give him a game. Even Paletta an Jovanovic got games didn't they?! Seems crackers.

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Reina would need to drop his financial expectations as well. I see Ilori going back to Spain.}

Ed002 if I may ask after the posisble aquisitions of Morkovic and Lovren I would expect that the 'ins' would be completed. I understand that these players cost more than just transfer fees involved. I saw you explained a lot of it in detail in the past.

Can we expect 3 or 4 players to be moved on in order to bring some of the running costs down?

Is there a possibility of any more investment coming into the club from anywhere? I understand that naming rights will take a small portion of the fee for ground work but with what you have said about rising debt there must be some idea to bring it down? Or is it just hinging on CL every season?

{Ed002's Note - The intention remains to bring in a left back. Players will be leaving. I don't know what you mean about "investment" or what you are expecting.}

Ed001

Markoic/Sanchez
Moreno/Bertrand
Lovren

That about the gist of our business?

Thanks lid

{Ed001's Note - that would certainly be the plan, yes. I wouldn't hold my breath though, you only have to look at January to see how difficult it is for us to stick to a plan!}

I think I was a bit quick on Sterling after Basel saying I don't think he will improve. But there does seem to be something affecting him. There just seems to be a lack of a decent touch at crucial times at the moment from him. He gets into wonderful positions but the opposition are onto him quickly when he gets the ball.

Having said that a lot of our players seem to over think around the box. They are possibly a bit unsure of the final ball and hesitate or take the extra touch. Something Gerrard showed he was a step above when he was pushed further up the field (when Lucas was brought on). That's where Gerrard is dangerous. No doubt he would be best behind Balotelli in my opinion. A bit like he was for Torres.

I'm not sure where that would leave Coutinho who seems to be dropping deeper and deeper to get the ball. His form has fallen a long way from what it was.

The defence well Manquillo got a lot of the ball, tried numerous crosses but nothing really came off. Moreno looks the part for me, but the 2 center halves look nervous and unsure.

Still a lot to do but I was delighted with the win.

I noticed something tonight. After searching for it for a bit I noticed the center halves splitting and Gerrard dropping for the keeper to have a pass. Is this the reason it happens? To keep the ball on the deck? Is that what that is about?

I thought we played decent tonight. I'm not sure what everyone is expectin from us. A rubbish goal conceded but a solid first half for a change.

Talk is cheap and real Liverpool fans see through that but this wasn't a Villa or Ludogrets display. But it does show some glaring things.

For me and this is just my. Personal opinion. Sterling will not get any better.

Our final ball isn't there and there's 1 or 2 don't suit Liverpool. But once that's sorted we will be ok.

Just my opinion.

Hope you don't all kick off.

Great Liverpool fans

Just a quick note on my Mother, who unfortunately passed away the day I got home last Thursday.

She will never walk alone. Hope she does the ironing up in heaven still when we play with the radio on.

Thanks for the messages.

To Ian the Red

Hello mate. I read you post regarding your Mother.

I'm currently working on a containership and was told last week quite out of the blue that my Mother has a terminal illness. It is liver cancer.

She is 73 and without follow up treatment will have around 8 weeks. She is now in pain everyday. I am going home tomorrow. I burst into tears quite a few times here. Waking up to the reality everyday is horrible.

So I really do wish for your Mother a successful operation nd healthy life thereafter. I don't wish this pain on anybody. Its a horrible and helpless feeling.

All the very best

Ed 001 I was reading your post about youth and it all made total sense.

The fact is we can't compete with City, Chelsea even Arsenal an clearly not Utd either. These are sides with big money and we just don't compete financially with them.

I go back to a good few months ago when Borrell and McPartland left. Looking at things now, with us bringing in so many players is that why Liverpool were so keen to get shut? I think they were talking to Man City anyway but surely you fight tooth and nail to keep a system in place that produces players? I just wonder.

Liverpool have had effective players who have come through and even utilized some with a slight lack of quality because of their absolute desire. Carragher was not the best of defenders at full back but he always gave his best. I don't even think he was so brilliant at center half if you consider Hyypia Hamman Gerrard Alonso and later Masch all being around him. He had fantastic games but I couldn't honestly say he was World Class. His effort is what I loved about him. I never wanted to blame the lad ever because he lways gave his best.

I hope John Flannigan can get himself fit and back into this side because we need players like him around. He is in the mould of Carragher for me in terms of effort. His confidence grew last season and he worked very very hard to get a 2nd go at the first team after a mistake at home to Sunderland saw him set back under Dalglish.

Some of these lads can really play. Suso Texeira Ibe they are all real talents, they just need a bit of time. Time that was afforded to Carragher to Gerrard and all the rest. Even the mighty Gerrard started at full back he wasn't banging in 35 yarders.

I just think some expect a sudden impact and for the next 'wonderkid' when really we need to blend all the best collective attributes available to the squad. There is definitely room for younger players. Whether that means dropping others is a choice for the gaffer. But one he needs to think carefully on.
