first time poster, I love this site, great work from the Eds and contributors. If they have time to indulge me, a question for the Eds other posters. I get the sense you have great inside knowledge of players characters, attitude and personal circumstances, with that in mind, which Liverpool players, past or present, had the most technical ability and physical attributes, who then never really went on to have the careers they could have? In my view, Benteke and Balotelli come to mind from our current squad, but you may argue they just don't have the aerobic capacity of a Milner for example? If you understood all that waffle I should compliment you on your own ability!

{Ed001's Note - there are loads, David James springs to mind - he was an utter tool with the physical and technical ability to be the best goalkeeper in the world but was lazy mentally and too up his own backside to care to improve. Harry Kewell and Alberto Aquilani would have to come into it, Aquaman was so bad Rafa pretended he was not fit so he didn't have to own up to his error in signing him.}

Ryan babbel springs to mind.
Looked world class at times and dreadful the next.
Always thought if he could become consistently good then he would be brilliant for us, not checked but I don't think he had much of a career after us.
Plenty of youngsters over the years as well, nemeth? Anyone heard from suso?

I often wandered about his attitude ed001 sounds like you have answered that quite nicely, he played well once in a blue moon, but most of the time he was happy to coast through games like he couldn't be arsed, whatever talent he may have had looks like he has wasted it. I think suso is now playing for genoa 1985mikey1985, his time at milan has not gone well.

{Ed001's Note - he wasn't as technically good as he should have been either, which was partially why he was hit and miss. Babel I mean. That lazy attitude followed through in training.}
