Paul Joyce reporting now that Liverpool are done in regards anymore new arrivals. really disappointing we need at least one more in midfield. can any of the eds confirm this is the case.

No one knows but the people sorting the deals. Just sit tight and see what happens. Paul Joyce knows as much as the next journo. They are only "connected" as much as the club let's them be.

Do you think Julian Ward thinks "oh lads, i must tell Paul Joyce and Fabrizio Romano of our business before we sign the player". Nope. Unless the Eds can enlighten me but Im pretty sure its a tight ship these days at most clubs regarding transfers and any info is pure speculation or educated guess if neither club says anything.

No he doesn't FPF. He's not involved in transfer business and why would he be? Gakpo was being worked on since September apparently, so why didn't he pipe up then? I get the desire for info but stop putting faith in these journos who know as much as you do. Its called Liverpool Rumours not Liverpool Facts. Its a rumours site so enjoy the rumours.
We all know the need for a midfielder or two, pretty sure the club are aware of this too ya know. We've signed a decent player and the window hasn't even opened yet. Be grateful.

Joyce was strangely quiet on the Gakpo deal considering he's the club's official mouthpiece.
Almost as if he was kept in the dark like all the other journos and ITKs.

Aikira called Gakpo a long while back, and there are some decent sources calling the Caicedo transfer. Bloom loves a quick profit, he is a businessman, and there is little pressure on Brighton, who are over performing in both the league and the transfer market.

Caicedo, Gakpo, Nunez and Diaz in the space of 1 year add's a mass of vigour, energy and chaos to our play.

Lots of people claimed Gakpo was signing a while back spaceman, not one of them had solid inside knowledge.
Throw enough names down during the course of a season then eventually you'll probably get one that's right.

The club will give snippets to people who speak to Journalists. The information will be what the club wants released. The club doesn’t always want its business known externally. The club sometimes needs space to work. Journalists will take what they are give and not moan too much if it turns out to be a different direction to how things turn out as it is swings and roundabouts.

Make of those statements want you will and how much you can trust ANY journalists transfer story, even the one who is ‘the clubs mouthpiece’ lol.

If everyone just stepped back and took a breathe, they wold see that the various reports are all saying the same thing, which is basically what ed2 is saying. We will sign the right player if the opportunity is there.

What I hate the most is the people who come on here and conflate 'not signing anyone' with 'not trying to sign anyone' and then that spirals into a pit of despair about how useless everyone at the club is. I think we need to re-tool and am more than prepared for it to be this window and next window, whether we miss out on CL or not. DGAF tbh, Liverpool FC isn't dying after this season.

The sore point is that it’s an unforced transition. We’ve had 3 windows to start the process of refreshing midfield with window 4 opening tomorrow. That smacks of arrogance, neglect or incompetence.

@FPF, I assume you were living in a foreign country when the more excitable, short term planning element of the forum users got into a flap a couple of seasons ago demanding that we but defenders as the single most important thing in the world. (Tsimikas, Konate, Ramsey)

Or last year when the same group of people spent months clamouring for us to sort out our attack and get rid of the old and / or underperforming forwards (say hello to Diaz and Nunez and Gakpo)

And guess what this years panic is the midfield - our current midfield ( all 9 or 10 of them) are rubbish and they need to be replaced eh?

I would say 2023 whine about the midfield, 2024 whine about the defence (Ali, VVD, Joel and Robbo over 30), 2025 whine about the midfield again as we didn’t buy 3 players in 2023 and 3026 whine about the forwards because we’ll have had Diaz, Nunez and Gakpo for toooooo long and Mo will be well past it.

Since idiots have gone after the legend Ed002 again, his less informed, way too immature for his age yet handsome alternate sidekick will have to tag in again.

Klopp has just put the kettle on to sit down with ward and pep to discuss the midfield. Before starting klopp warns pep that if he pushes or mentions his book one more time he's going to beat him to death with it. I'm here too hiding behind the couch.

Telimens (CM)
They are weighing up a move for youri telimens. Literally. Lots of discussion about his weight. Last comment from pep was Rooney was decent and he was fat. And dumb mentioned klopp. And a love cheat mentioned ward. They never circled back to tielemens so it seems unlikely.

Bellingham (CM)
Klopp sets out right away that they are talking about Jude and not Jobe. Ward acknowledges that his earlier transfer window mistake and says he has it now. Klopp is going on how good looking he is which is always a good sign. Man he s going on a long time here. Still on the looks. It's getting uncomfortable. Interest is high. Ward says he can make it happen on 2nd July 2023. This one looks a certainty.

Sander Berge (CM again)
Ward is strong on him and I quote "This might be the only guy I can get this window". Possible

Moises Caiceido (CM-I mean this is a Cm list. What did you expect)
They all like that he is equadorian (nailed that spelling) . Quote from pep "we don't have one of those and it really gets us close to completing South America". Interest is real purely on that basis.

I mean he plays for a red bull team so you know there's interest.

They are discussing how many installments and add ons there can be in an offer without it being completely ridiculous. Unlikely.

Ward mentions that the medical team are vetoing this one. They are overworked as it is.

Ed001, I agree with drogie. Ban these people who keep abusing the Eds. This is out of hand. Ed002 gives us information as he knows it at that time and he gets abused? He does this on his own time for FREE. Please don't allow the minority ruin this site for the rest of us. Ban and block the abusers. We look forward to Ed002 updates and don't want to see him leave because of these key board warriors who have nothing better to do than hide behind a computer and spew abuse. Maybe that's how they get off, but it is ruining the site for everyone else.
