Sakho describes feeling like a caged lion in L'Equipe article during Rodgers tenure. let's hope he gets an opportunity to continue roaring at the back. I hope more players adopt his passion going fwd this season.
Looking fwd to Friday and the announcement.

He likened being on the bench to being a caged lion. The Rodgers angle was spin.

When Stevie texts him thanking him for his passion and fight he has to be doing something right. I don't know why he gets so much stick. Of course some fans may know more than Stevie lol. I think under a half decent coach who can install some solidity, organization and confidence fans will see the true capabilities of our defensive players. Sakho and Lovren don't become poor players overnight. Just poorly directed by poor management.

Sorry but lovren was allways pretty poor. It was Fonte that made him look good IMO. He hd a good half season at saints. I watch them quite a lot as i live here. I know saints fans would of been gutted to see fonte go. No one was botherd at all about lovern leaving!

Is "caged lion" not the exact same phrase borini used a few months back?

Sakho doesn't get any stick at the matches. He's one of the few who regularly gets his name chanted.

It's just becoming a circus now ;-)

billyynwa, what are you talking about? I live near Southampton, most people in my town are Saints fans, they were all devastated when Lovren left.

Lovren was very good at Lyon, very good at Saints and terrible at Liverpool. Why? Because the manager didn't know how to coach defending.

Sorry did Benteke get sold? I heard that the move to Crystal Palace had not been done.

Agree with WelshRed, a little while a go, Ronaldo dressed up as a beggar and went to kick a ball around with kids in Spain, nobody looked at him twice in his outfit. once he revealed himself they mobbed him.

A friend of my is from Madeira, he does an awful lot for the island. In terms of his cars etc. why shouldn't he enjoy his success, he certainly seems to give his all, unlike some players in EPL that are only there for the cheque and operate at 50%.

Guys lots of people putting forward their views passionately which is great. Why don't we do a quick poll. If you feel SG should come back train and potentially play in cup game click Agree, if you feel he's left let's move on and not revisit click disagree. cheers.

I agree on Lucas and Allen (someone I have been quite critical of before), his yellow was harsh, it was a tackle that turned in to a slip. In fact, there was a lot of slipping last night, not sure if this was stud choice or overwatering.

Also was that the highest number of interceptions we have had in a game?

Lovren I am afraid seems to be afraid of his own shadow, he really is a poor reflection of his former self.

I liked the look of all the youngsters, I thought they slotted in well, some of the things they were trying was great to see.

Ibe seems to have his confidence back.

Looked like Lovren picked up an injury just before Lallana was coming on, and Klopp was going to put Moreno on instead. but the 4th official had already put the numbers on the board and didn't seem inclined to change his mind.

not the best performance, but much to be encouraged by, Klopp said in post match that the boys only trained for 1hr with the new formation. So Saturday should prove to be much more interesting.

Origi needs to eat a few more steaks, he is too light to be up top by himself, his shooting pre match was solid, (I know its not match conditions etc) but sometimes the shooting they do prematch is terrible.

Milner continues to underwhelm. I must admit that I had high hopes for him, but those are now well in the past.

Lucas was very good and I don't begrudge his couple of mistakes as he seemed to be having to put fires out all over the pitch Sakho yet again was strong maybe some of the others could learn from his passing, his completion has to be one of the best in the team (haven't checked the stats yet) .

I didn't get a good look at it, but could Lallana have tapped in Moreno's fizzing cross?

I thought Moreno actually played better than on previous occasions, his tackle on Mane (I think) was very well timed.

Emre Can needs an arm around his shoulder, he is trying way too hard. some of his flicks showed that we aren't all playing on same wavelength.

I am going to come and take my son to the Capital One Game, I feel that we will probably put out a strongish team as JK will be keen to get a win b4 Chelski on saturday lunch.
