I thought Ojo and Ilori looked good yesterday. Surely we got to give Ilori a run in the first team. The lad is more comfortable on the ball than John Stones. I really want to see more of him. Boy has bags of potential. Ed do you what our plans are for him?

I think Ilori has potential, but take man your red-tinted glasses off, John Stones is one of the best young defenders in Europe and is way better on the ball.

I thought he played well but concerning that he went off shattered. And before you jump on my back Enrique managed 90mins. I know llori hasn't played at all and would of been interesting to see what he was like on a proper pitch future looks good.

Some of the criticism is unfair on this site considering his playing time this season. The fact is he looks brilliant on the ball and he is lightning quick. He is also terribly unfit and I don't know realistically how quickly he could become match fit. He is young enough to take some intensive training and recover so I guess time will tell if and when he would last 90 minutes. |I would love to know what Klopp thinks of him.

I thought Ilori was very dicey in the air if i'm honest. He did look quite composed with the ball at his feet. Again it was an awful pitch. Really hard to suggest either way how he could do. How fit was he? Not very, considering he had his socks around his ankles like a 70s footballer after 65mins. John Stones, i really don't know what the big fuss is about. I thought Agger had more composure with the ball at his feet. I certainly can't see Stones being one of the best in Europe. Maybe i'm missing something tho.

{Ed001's Note - Stones is excellent on the ball but defensively his positioning is awful. If he wasn't quick he would be hopeless defensively as he is always having to recover. It might just be that he needs time to learn that aspect, as he played a lot as a full back he could just be struggling to adjust.}

Only Everton fans think he's one of the best young defenders in Europe because he isn't.

{Ed001's Note - a lot of fans think he is because the English media are building him up.}

Caulker is decent in the air. But I worry we never learn. Always recruiting players who cannot make a meaningful difference. Why bother. I mean why sign yet another player we will not see until next season. The window in Jan should be about what we need now not next season!

Totally disagree about Ilori. The boy has bags if talent. His treatment by us is scandalous . He had Kane in his back pocket and has more composure on the ball than Jon Stones . If he was English you all would be salivating over him. Give the lad a crack. He deserves to play on a proper pitch and get his motivation back by working with him to get his fitness back to where it needs to be. Our treatment of him is the best example of destroying the promise of a true talent.
