Wilfred Ndidi is under consideration for the DM role at Liverpool 26 years old, premier league experience, price should be reasonable

Not a priority option but could be a surprise acquisition.

Good old fashioned rumour. Decent player, not outstanding from what I've seen. I can see this working for a good price, allows us to use a DM in some games and not others depending on the opposition whereas if we went out and spent £50m on a DM then there's always the thought that they have to play every single game.

{Ed002's Note - It is complete nonsense. Ndidi is not of interest to Liverpool.}

2.) 25 Jul 2023 10:46:05
Again, long may that lack of interest continue.

3.) 25 Jul 2023 11:38:03
you could say, 'indeed he is of no interest to Liverpool'. I'll get my coat!

4.) 25 Jul 2023 11:54:50
Jay Spearing still on the books for player coach of the u21s? Would make more sense, Ndidi nearly looked like he was moonwalking he was going so slow last season.

People (including myself) were worried about Fabinho's form dropping off a cliff, well Ndidi's form was far far worse.

With a left sided CB/FB still wanted do Liverpool have any interest in Cucurella. Currently out of favour at Chelsea but was Brighton's player of the year prior to that and if I remember rightly came through La Masia at Barcelona.

He will likely be affordable circa £40M and can play LCB and LB, has good pace and is comfortable in possession. I think he'd be a good fit in a back three and/or be an upgrade on Tsimikas to provide competition for Robertson in a back 4.

He can't defend.
He's not a full back never mind a centre half. I'd sooner stick to playing with ten men.

2.) 03 Sep 2023 08:57:27
He’s muck.

3.) 03 Sep 2023 10:13:56
OP, Cucurella is on the bench for a reason at Chelsea, man.

Seems that Conor Bradley is likely to be out for most of the season with a stress fracture to his back, and with Calvin Ramsey already out on loan are Liverpool going to look to bring in a Right Back as cover or rely on Joe Gomez to fill the gap when necessary?

Maybe we should sneak in and try grab Marc Cucarella on loan before Utd seal the deal ? ideal player for LCB and cover for both full back sides. Saw his name recently and his wages are apparently very high. Anyway, Utd prob have him sorted for them.

2.) 30 Aug 2023 18:26:32
8-12 weeks apparently.

3.) 30 Aug 2023 18:33:33
Shame for Bradley, man. Was really hoping to see him this season after watching some clips of him killing it at Bolton. Hoep he makes a speedy recovery.

4.) 30 Aug 2023 18:42:15
Didn’t Ramsey have a fracture in his back as well last season.

5.) 30 Aug 2023 19:08:17
He's not out most of the season at all. He's already started his rehab. Does highlight our need for another defender in this squad though.

6.) 30 Aug 2023 19:10:15
The best ability is availability.

7.) 30 Aug 2023 19:20:13
Hardly surprising our inverted right backs are getting back injuries.
They must snap their heads back all the time watching the ball going over their heads constantly.

8.) 30 Aug 2023 20:11:45
Give them some milk, it’s what Ian Rush drinks.

And Ian Rush didn't play for Accrington Stanley.

A couple of new names linked with Liverpool in the last few days. Pape Demba Diop (Senegal) of Zulta Waregem in Belgium and Andre Trindade (Brazil) Fluminense. Both are very young and inexperienced but likely to be cheaper than Lavia, Thuram and Caicedo.

Also worth noting that Curtis Jones played a holding midfielder role in the England U21 success this Summer and has played the position for Liverpool. Tyler Morton may also have a larger role this season and of course there is the possibility of spending on an RB/RCB And an LB/LCB and moving Trent into a full time midfield role - either alongside Bajcetic/Jones or even Andy Robertson in a 3-2-2-3 or taking the Fabinho role in a 4-3-3 with McAllister on the left and Szobaszlai on the right.

Are there any other youngsters from the Academy who could make a similar impression to Bajcetic last season? Obviously Conor Bradley will get a good go at the RB position in a 4-3-3 but who are the 'next most likely' players to step up - Bobby Clark maybe?

Worst cast scenario, we could use tsmikas as left sided midfielder.
He can cross the ball for sure.

2.) 18 Jul 2023 12:00:44
For God’s sake, there’s that word again - cheaper. It’s like the Conservative Party.

3.) 18 Jul 2023 14:23:10
HessleRedTom1980, I agree in part. Transfers are often not about being cheap or expensive cos all that is relative to uncontrollable factors like demand/ supply, the market rate for players etc., IMO.

For me, It's about getting value for your buck, cheap or not. LFC are the best in England at getting the best value for their signings regardless of the fee, expensive or cheap.

A Chelsea supporting friend told me that Olise's family who represent him speak to Chelsea reps on a regular basis. Chelsea were informed of his release clause and we're going to trigger it. However the clause was for UCL Qualifiers hence the Chelsea offer was deemed too low. Olise has now signed a new contract which I suspect now includes a Change to the release clause. I would expect Olise to return to Chelsea within 2 years.

{Ed002's Note - He was teasing you. It is true his family speak with Chelsea regularly - there is a reason for that. The issue was over a third-party representing the player who told Manchester City and Chelsea about the two different release clauses and the details of them.}

What will happen on the pitch today is Chelsea parading Caicedo like a trophy with Boehly laughing his head off in the Director's box.

GK is a straight contest between Clemence and Alison. Only other worth consideration is Elisha Scott from way back in the day.

RB you'd happily take Trent and Rob Jones, after that your looking at Steve Finnan, Marcus Babbel, Phil Neal and Alvaro Arbeloa.

LB Alec Lindsay is the best we've had in the position, Emlyn Hughes was versatile enough to play CB and LB. John Arne Riise had that free kick but I'd be happy with Robbo backing up Lindsay.

CB it's a squad you'd be looking at Hansen, Van Dijk, Phil Thompson, Emlyn Hughes, Mark Lawrenson - and I have high hopes Quansah will eventually be amongst these legends.

CM Souness, Alonso, Gerrard, Mascherano and maybe Ronnie Whelan although I did love Jan Molby and Jimmy Case

RM/ LM Terry McDermott was different gravy getting 15+ goals year in, year out. Steve Heighway was as smooth as silk on the left Billy Liddell could play wide or up front. McManaman probably had his best days at Madrid. I love Luiz Diaz and Mo would probably get in here as a RM/ RW and of course John Barnes

Strikers: Dalglish, Rush, Kevin Keegan, John Aldridge, Fowler, Owen, Peter Beardsley, Torres, Sturridge, Suarez, Mane, Firmino - take your pick

Manager: Paisley, Klopp, Shankly - that would be a hell of a boot room lol.
