Simple today, Klopp has to take the blane picked wrong team, away in the premiership and he picks 2 young kids, hendo and milly should have started, give us some bite, then let the ball players come on after 60 mins.

We should have been one nil up, at least, in the first twenty minutes.
They go one up in the next ten minutes and it changes things. We could have been one down last Sunday but we were not and score first. It happens.
We were not awful today. We're still soft and easy to play against but I'm sure Klopp is working on it.
At least there's some physicality in our front three.

2.) 12 Mar 2023 02:56:09
Rigsby, we were awful. The game was not like Man City away at Forest a few weeks ago, where they dominated the game and created chances only for Forest to pinch an equalizer. We created very little after the first quarter of the game and ended up deservedly losing.
As for Bournemouth scoring first, their goal was in the 28th minute - Liverpool had more than enough time to turn the game around though at no point did I think we would.
Today was nothing more than a sheer lack of desire and effort.

3.) 12 Mar 2023 03:26:22
Maybe if we had put away our chances early in the game then the result would have been different? Bit like how if ManU had put away their first half chances then the result may have been different.

4.) 12 Mar 2023 07:10:02
Losing the game isn't the problem, it's the attitude which is the problem for me. we could've won game 3-1 easily enough but we only papering over the cracks.
Too often this season we see players walking back to defend, there goal yesterday perfect example nobody bar konate (who should've cleared it) sprinting back.

5.) 12 Mar 2023 07:11:30
We were terrible from start to finish with near NO positives whatsoever. I was peed off from start to finish watching that game cos that was 2 hrs of my life I’m never getting back. Turgid, laborious, slack, lackadaisical etc. I can keep going. When a team plays this bad, the manager takes the L, end of.

6.) 12 Mar 2023 07:11:55
Milner adds nothing other than fouling players and picking a card very early into the match! Henderson cannot play two back to back games. That leaves us absolutely nobody to play! “Lack of midfielders”.

7.) 12 Mar 2023 08:10:20
Such a lazy comment after a game “Klopp picked the wrong team” I mean we just beat United 7, on a mini unbeaten run but because Klopp never started with Millie and Hendo against a team that was bottom 3, he’s picked the wrong team? I mean I blame Salah as much as any other player for a god awful performance, just like the rest of the team and a horrible penalty. I could also blame VVD for not tracking his player until the end and leaving it to Robbo who was wrong side, then he misses a header when it was harder to miss than score but what do I know ?‍♂️.
There’s more than team selection at issue here.

8.) 12 Mar 2023 08:52:03
Hello The Irish Rover,

The starting eleven should have been exactly the same eleven that started against man utd, if it ain't broke don't try and fix it? The rhythm was there last week and surely deserved another outing and chance to go again.

The comedy double act of van DICK and CRAPinho, half the spine and the middle of the pitch need replacing with world class players, not second or third choices.

How many truly world class players are currently playing in this team, i would suggest none.

9.) 12 Mar 2023 09:10:51
007, how long did it take you to come up with such petulant nicknames? I know they were poor BUT who wasn’t? Childish name calling is isn’t acting, bro and it doesn’t make you looking sound smart either, imo.

As for the selection, IR is correct. Klopp only made one change so don’t know what difference that would have made? Vs Utd, people complained that Baj should have played instead of Elliott and now, people are complaining over a lineup that had just ONE change in it as a cause for the loss? Again, not a thing. We lost cos we were a shambles all across the shop esp with a wretched attitude in the game. Had nothing to do with lineups.

10.) 12 Mar 2023 09:18:31
Morning Bond, hope you’re leaving Moneypenny alone ?.

Virgil and Fabinho both played last week so if we used your theory, if it ain’t broke don’t try and fix it then they would both still be playing as would the majority of other players that didn’t show up yesterday.

I always thought of Klopp putting together a world class TEAM, not relying so much on individual talent but you are correct. Very few, if any players showing a consistent form.

11.) 12 Mar 2023 09:40:14
I maintain that we played ok for a quarter of the game, at least, so we were not awful. We were poor but I wouldn't say awful and it wasn't as bad as the Palace game. People can use different words to describe the performance but I wouldn't go as far as 'awful' as I've seen a lot worse this season. We all have our opinions, ways of expressing them and those are my mine about yesterday.
If Salah scores the penalty I don't think it would feel like the world is ending for some. Small margins, really.

12.) 12 Mar 2023 10:23:17
Rigsby, if Valverde and Tchouameni were on the pitch we may have won.

You should spend more time judging what you saw on the pitch yesterday than your fellow fans.

There wasn’t a single positive in that game. I’d like you to tell us what good things we can take away from that performance?

13.) 12 Mar 2023 10:28:31
Rigsby not a sarcastic question but genuinely would you allow your employees to only work a quarter of their shift and say it was a success.

Totally understand you’re trying to be positive mate. But praising the players for turning up for 25% of the game isn’t exactly a great selling point.

For me they were brilliant last week and s##te yesterday.

{Ed025's Note - you are boosting up yesterdays performance there JK..

14.) 12 Mar 2023 12:19:54
Hello OR and IR,

Never change a winning team for me? The same eleven versus man utd not ten fully deserved to go again? regards VVD And Fabs and for many others yesterday, the old football professionals used to say you're only as good as your last game i. e. all excellent last week, all dross yesterday!

Read a post Hendo can't play back to back games, he had five days rest last week before yesterdays game like they all had! that dismisses totally Jurgens theory that his players don't get enough recovery time after games.

Emlyn Hughes played 68 competitive games (Internationals, Cups, League etc) in one season, on mud heaps, heavier footballs and the added pressure of being Club Captain, that's eight games less than playing two consecutive premier leagues now, mind you they had a Fitness Coach Reuben Bennett who was a former regimental sergeant major and hence they were all super fit athletes as well as excellent players and good boys as they never argued with RSM Reuben.

15.) 12 Mar 2023 13:26:31
FPF, are you not judging me? ?
I judged what I saw on the field, too. I said we were ok for the first quarter. Just ok but we could have been at least one goal up. I also said we were poor. I also said we were not awful. Just poor but I've seen worse in the past few weeks.
Stop making things up to formulate an argument.
Tchouameni and Valverde would have improved us massively. Klopp was interested in signing them in the summer but you won't see this because it's easier for you to think that Klopp ignored our midfield problems that had yet to really materialise.

JK, I never said yesterday was a 'success' and I never praised the players. You're putting words into my mouth. I'm not even being positive, I know we are rubbish and I said the same after last Sunday. I was on here saying that it was a freak result and the memory of the 'awful' game against Palace was still fresh in my mind.
Try to read what I post rather than what you think I post because I won't say we were awful.

16.) 12 Mar 2023 14:47:27
Rigsby If you can point out where I said “you said yesterday was a success” I’ll give you my Anfield tickets for free.

I asked a question and I mentioned the word success.

I won’t bother trying to engage with you again.

17.) 12 Mar 2023 16:43:47
JK, you asked 'would you allow your employees to only work a quarter of their shift and say it was a success'.
Why did you ask me that when we were discussing yesterday's game and I had said we were ok for the first quarter? Why use the words 'success'and 'quarter'? Or are you inferring that I thought it was a success without me saying that it was a success?

18.) 12 Mar 2023 19:08:00
007, what Da heck does Emlyn Hughes have to do with a damn thing anyway? Also, we made one change so how much diff would that have made? Again, not too smart bro.

19.) 12 Mar 2023 19:12:58
JK you and others are basing your opinion on thinking that the players didn’t try for 3 quarters of the game. That is just your opinion and has no basis in fact.

I would say they did try, did run, so they did ‘work’ so your argument about employees only working quarter of a shift is just nonsense.

We just showed that our mentality is still very fragile and as soon as Trent played that ball across the back 4 and put their player clean through the crowd got up, they gained confidence and we got nervous and stopped doing all of the good things we did in the first part of the match.

We never got it back from there because we are very mentally fragile especially away from home. I’m not making excuses, nor am I saying that being so mentally fragile is acceptable but I disagree that it’s a lack of effort.

When teams gain confidence and the crowd gets up we play scared which means rushing passes, snatching at chances and standing off people. It will take time to regain our composure when faced with these situations and it probably won’t happen this season.

20.) 12 Mar 2023 19:37:26
BP I thought we were crap for all the game yesterday not 3/ 4 of it.

I’m basing my opinion on what I think. At no point have I ever said I’m right and others are wrong.

21.) 12 Mar 2023 19:48:06
2 days ago it was Thiagos fault now we are very fragile mentally. Were we not fragile when Thiago played and caused all the issues?

I think people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones calling others opinions nonsense.

22.) 12 Mar 2023 21:51:00
JK we are fragile because of the season we’ve had this conversation has got nothing to do with Thiago. Again spouting nonsense to try to deflect from previous nonsense.

Not once have I ever said that it was Thiago’s fault but when he played he was a problem in my opinion. Not the only problem but a problem. I really don’t see what that has to do with yesterday’s game or this conversation. Honestly mate you, like some others I won’t mention, just make things up to support your narrative. Try actually listening to what other people say instead of putting words in their mouth it really does make for a much better debate.

The mental fragility has come from poor results and the hammering the players get when they perform poorly. Like all elite sport more than half of it is played between the ears and when you lose confidence it’s very difficult to get it back. Fear is energy sapping. You question yourself and others around you. You hesitate. That’s what we are suffering from not the players downing tools.

23.) 12 Mar 2023 23:07:16
BP cheers for the soap box lecture. Let me know if you ever actually go to a game and I’ll get the beers in.

24.) 12 Mar 2023 23:41:13
Surely all you top red FSG boys just enjoyed the game? Come on lads, surely taking part is enough.

25.) 13 Mar 2023 13:12:27
No it was rubbish, Dirt.
I can say that without being hysterical and looking for someone to blame though. Isn't JWH buying enough shiny new toys for you?

I have been watching this season with sadness, even at the ground now the expectations are we will lose, never has it felt like this since the heady days of roy! Couple of points

1) i believe FSG are decent owners, they saved the club, got us klopp etc they have a legacy, every “business “ goes through some need if change, its how its leaders react from the playing and coaching staff to the owners and Klopp
2) i feel Klopp is feeling the pressure, his outburst was very poor and it was childish, J Pearce wasnt even the one that write the piece!
3) good leaders empower and delegate BUT also need to understand when to get hands on and lead, he has to set the example, from
Body language to press comms

I feel he will lead us, i am quite amused that some fans are so entitled, it is what it is we all get ups and downs, let's enjoy when its good and then support when its not so good.

Dont get it, someone voices an opinion and everyone gets heated.

I agree our upturn in results has been in line with him being injured BUT i think him fully firing in this team is the difference maker. Out of our midfielders this season he has been the least crap. Having said all that, i would sell him and get a dynamic box to box midfielder for the left side, maybe calciedo? Or a more realistic target koopermieners from atalanta.
