Are lfc already in the group stages of ucl this season or do we need to play a qualifier?

PL top 4 now go straight to group stages. I believe it was a sweetener to try and stop the break away league. ?

Group stages pot 3 unless Benfica get knocked out in qualifier, if this happens then we go into pot 2.

To be considered as ‘buying the league’ I think you have to have spent significantly over your competitors. Only Chelsea many years ago, and Man City more recently can be considered as coming from no-where via vast amounts of money to ‘buy the league’.

Ed02 is right, people in glass houses and all that, but I also believe it’s a phrase that doesn’t apply to Liverpool given how much other teams are spending too, so it’s no more than keeping up. The big problem now is not ‘buying the league’ but the gap between the haves and have nots. in football as in life.
