Nice debate Alonso on current affairs.
I don’t know how we fix this other than double training sessions, making the lads run more, not rewarding players with holidays like last week.
One things for sure though, a deal for a midfielder should be done Now. He should be walking through the door on 1st January 2023. No excuses we’ve had years.

Good post from Alonso. From day one I've been signed up to being a believer not a doubter. I just think it works both ways. Something isn't right, so we should believe what we see and reinvent ourselves. Not doubt that we never need to change. Maybe having Arsenal and City around the corner with lead to a re-think.

Alonso, it’s a good debate you have started to be fair. I think it’s a mixed bag. Clearly, we are not capable of playing the way we want to play tactically due to a complete lack of confidence that has clearly set into the squad. Can we make tweaks and all that? Of course and if you were watching yesterday, you would have noticed that Trent NEVER went into midfield in the second half nor did he bomb forward near ever. That tells me he was told to just pick his spots and stay solid defensively.

At the end of the day, there is NO silver bullet for the issues we have. Changing tactics or personnel for changing sake will not help either. Scapegoating is futile since near everyone is playing crap despite their best efforts. They just need to keep working hard, trust in each other and believe in each other cos if that goes away then, look out.

We don’t fix it with extra training we fix it in the transfer market. Get to January get players in and out like should have been done in the summer. that's how football works these days. Between January and next summer We need at least 6 players with as many leaving it’s an awful lot but we left ourselves a lot to do by sitting on our hands the summer just gone.

Throw money at your problems - the good old English way.
"Just get to January" which is still 3 months away.
And who do we rely on until then?
The very same squad that nearly swept the board last season, that's who.
The players look tired and leggy - double training sessions is the answer? I don't think so.
So many want to point the finger, find someone to blame then punish or get rid.
This is when you find out what YNWA really means - and I ain't seeing a whole lot of it on here at the moment.

{Ed025's Note - spot on flash..

Essentially the same squad that fell short the last two seasons Flash because of an overall lack of quality and as far as I’m aware there’s no trophy for nearly winning a quadruple. Expecting a team that looked on its last legs towards the end of last season and particularly so in the champions league final to suddenly find an extra gear was never going to happen, particularly when the competition all strengthened significantly. It was plain to we needed to refresh the midfield and chose not to, as decisions go it was a bad one. We’re in limp home mode until we break for the World Cup. If we choose not to act in January and gamble on the likes of Keita, Ox, Milner, Jones or Arthur stepping up, then I suspect the second half of the season will be more painful than the first.

Spot on, FlashTheRed. Money, Money, Money. That's all the English understand when there are problems within a squad as if that is the ONLY solution. Mind you, LFC absolutely battered the league in 19/ 20 WITHOUT signing a single first team/ first 11 player (sorry, Elliott, Van Den Berg and Adrian do NOT count) .

This is not rocket science. We are short on confidence hence, the absolute panic that ensues whenever we are under pressure and whenever we lose the ball. Nobody seems to trust the player next to him to do the job hence, they get dragged out of position to put out other fires rather than their own and then we get what we get. We got to just ride the storm and keep working hard cos there is NO one solution to this no matter how much people moan as if there is some silver bullet out there.

We were winning nothing until we signed the most expensive goalkeeper ever in Alisson, the most expensive dm ever in Fabinho and the most expensive CB ever in van Dijk. Yes money is how you win. Do you think City got good by persisting with Steven Ireland and Onouha.
