Can we upgrade the Kenny and kop stands can we add more seats? Or could be build them up and add more corporate hospitality boxes? Or are we at our limit when the Annie road is done?

From what I can remember there is a certain capacity that Anfield can be built to before infrastructure outside the ground becomes a consideration which would make it not viable. Maybe 65,000, not too sure tho?

I understand the capacity of just over 60,000 is the maximum we can go to without, like as been said, improving infrastructure in the surrounding area. This would have to include the building of a train station, if I remember right. And, yes, hospitality is going in the new stand.

After the club added 8,500 seats to the main stand (for a cost of 110 Million) we were told (on these pages) that probably it would be unlikely that seats would be added on other stands because of the high prohibitive cost and the need to ensure surrounding infrastruture and city council approval. And then we are upgrading the Anfield road stand with another 7,000 seats (for 60 Million) .

I follow some guys who do the weekly drone videos of the stand and I really think that upgrading the SKD stand and the Kop will be far more difficult than these 2 stands done. SKD has a whole row of houses right next to it. And the Kop has that diagonal road right next to it. Upgrading both could bring us up to 90,000 capacity, I would assume, which would be great. But the costs would be phenomenal in terms of finances, creating the infrastructure and transportation required and the social unrest it would cause in displacing so many people from their homes. Highly unlikely that a further capacity increase could be done as easily as these 2 stands.

And then you ask yourself. When it refused to build a new stadium which would have allowed us to have the big capacity, did the club make the assessment that instead, they could eventually upgrade all 4 stands? I understand the need to preserve the historical identity of the stadium, but doesn't the club have an eye towards stadium expansion also, to keep the money rolling in?

If the club want to expand further, I suspect it will be tricky as they will have to build more transport links, car parks, roads to deal with traffic and congestion, etc. I doubt the club would want to pay for all of the expensive infrastructure that the general public will make use of the rest of the time. It would probably take a lot of negotiation with the city council to get them to contribute a certain amount towards the building of this infrastructure.

Interesting re the stadium and info above regarding the maximum expansion, tx guy’s, I was under the impression that the kop end was on the future agenda for expansion to 12,500 with the new standing aspect being a part of the revamp of the Kop.

I assume due to the info I’ve read that’s not going to happen in time.
