Morning eds1
I think we all know that vvd has looked very poor lately almost uninterested so two questions
Do you think Klopp should drop him as a kick up the arse
And do you think Klopp will drop him.
Thanks and god am praying we win tonight.

{Ed001's Note - yes and no.}

It's interesting to see how many fans react to a players loss of form with suggestions some sort of punishment. "Kick up the hole, drop him, sell him".
Man management is clearly not a strong suit for some.

I can't see VVD being dropped and sadly I don't think we will do any better without him without also a change of tactics as I think we will have the same problems if this system is deployed with any of our CBs.
I'd love to see something fresh tried at this point as I think it has gotten to the point of a drastic change being required to revitalize the team.
I personally think that Trent can't continue at right back with this current team. I love him when he is on form but its been so rare to see this past 8 or so months.
He either needs to be removed from the firing line or given more protection.
My preference would be to move him as I just love his attacking traits.
I would be interested to see a 4-5-1 with Trent at RM, Gomez at RB. Salah through the middle, Nunez/ Jota left wing with Robertson/ Tsimikas at LB.
I'd give Carvalho / Elliot a try at attacking mid with 2 sitting behind.
Does anyone agree with me or what would you try for this game to get a better performance from the team?

Complacency and over exertion have become big issues amongst some of our squad.
Red nose knew how to clean house without sentiment in order to keep things fresh.
As much as i love and admire VVD and Mo, it could well be time for them to make on last big move to slower leagues, to play out their final years.

I'd be more worried about who would take his place.

VVD has been nowhere near his best, but even this version of him is comfortably better than every other centre back we have.

Problem with dropping VVD is who do we drop him for? Phillips is too slow, Matip gets exposed when you're not dominating games (which we aren't) and according to Liverpool 'fans', Gomez is responsible for every goal Liverpool conceded since he joined.

So who plays instead of him?

It doesn’t matter if we win tonight. Top 4 is well and truly done and dusted. I actually hope we finish outside of europa because inevitably if we are in europa next season, Klopp will use the schedule as an recuse to underperform in the league.

@Rigsby

That’s Gvardiol! Long term replacement!

It's alright saying drop or sell this player, who comes in in there place? If we drop vvd 2nite who do we play? Matip r gomez and both have been awful virtually all season.
The easy bit is pointing out what r who is wrong the hard bit is sorting it.

Flash, interesting comment on 'man management' - you ever do this bud?

Awk look, if he has the occasional poor game, it happens, wouldn't drop him - that's were the coaching comes in though, sit back and rematch the match and your mistake (s) so that in a similar situation in the future, you don't make the same mistakes. Mistakes happen, learn from them

The issue with VVD is that he has been awful all season. Same mistakes made, same poor play - is the above being done? If it is its not working

The issue is no matter how poor a game he has, he always plays. Why bother with the extra work then if it doesn't matter? You're going to play regardless of performance so why bother?

And that Flash is a dangerous precedent to set. You want players to work hard to play for the club. If they don't then there should be others chomping at the bit for that starting position - if a player knows others at the club are training harder and harder and want his spot then there is a bit of pressure on a player to keep it, by playing as well as he can and giving it all

If he is not giving his all, well the hard truth is that in any workplace, each and every one of us are replaceable - we work hard and do what is asked of us. If we make mistakes etc, our bosses show us these and the expectation is that we do not keep making the same mistakes and genuinely do the job we are being paid to do.

If we don't, there are performance management tools at every level, to, first and foremost, help us do the job we are paid to do. Whilst the mechanisms of this differ from workplace to workplace is it really any different for professional footballers?

Man management and performance management are both simply part of the workplace, the techniques will differ depending on field, entity etc, but the basic premise doesn't.

Klopps dropped loads of players out of the team over his last 7 and a half years.

I’m guessing that means Klopp isn’t a very good man manager then. Who would have known.
