Ed02 and Ed01, thanks for all your very valued updates this summer.

Can I ask as it looks like Lavia may possibly be seen as too expensive, and I read we are no longer interested in Thuram. Are there any other DM (number 6) type midfielders we should watch for?

Additionally re CB do I assume correctly that interest in Colwill can lead nowhere due to Chelsea wanting to keep the player and price? Schurrs seems to be the one to watch?

Exactly re: Colwill. For me, I have not seen the kid play so I have no idea what he is like. Clearly, he is that good by all accounts but according to Ben Jacobs and other reports, Chelsea ain't selling no cos they simply do not want to nor need to.

IMO we need to just stop barking up the wrong tree and move on to other targets at CB. The only way we get Colwill is make them an offer they can't refuse which we know won't happen. As for Lavia, he may be too expensive and that could mean we move on or wait till later in the TW to see if the deal can be done esp if the kid kicks up a storm and force a move. Just my take.

Only time I’ve seen Colwill play was against us when Brighton beat us 3-0.

However I can’t remember seeing him play as for most of the game my head was in my hands.

@Oli, whilst everybody has their price, Colwill wants to stay at Chelsea - as it stands he is an example of ‘the right player at the wrong price’.

At LCB, Colwill looks excellent but unattainable. Gvardiol is too expensive (sigh) for our club.

We clearly turned down the chance to get Ndicka on a bosman.

Inacio is still at Sporting. It sounds like he was our first choice at the start of the summer but things went sour over Ugarte. Perhaps the best choice would be to patch up that relationship and make a deal happen.

Not sure if Van Den Ven is good enough although it sounds like he’s on the wanted list too.

Others to look at might be Kelly from Bournemouth, Hincapie from Leverkusen, Schlotterbeck from Dortmund, Medina from Lens, Lukeba from Lyon, Pavlovic aT Salzburg and Theate from Rennes.

At RCB, there’s a lot more options. Scalvini, Tapsoba and Bella-Kotchap to name but a few.
