Morning! Still can’t get over that game, red card was harsh, should have been a yellow.
Gordon should have been yellow carded as should have Trent then Trent’s annoy annoyance wouldn’t have lead to him putting his arm across Gordon who dived like the Clare balding he looks like.

Anyhow, mad how we seem to be playing more as a unit with 10men.

Incomings, do we know of any CBs that could come in? It’s glaringly obvious we need someone.

Apparently the rules state that a red card is the right decision if Isak is deemed to have had a goalscoring opportunity. Personally I don’t think he has the ball under control so it looked a soft red to me. The fact that he lands about 4 miles away from the tackle makes it look a lot worse!

Anyway, ended up being irrelevant but the ref was awful throughout the game yesterday.

TM, I had issues sleeping cos I was so juiced up after the win cos I watched the game on my DVR as I did not watch it live.

I think the rule, as it’s written, wasn’t meant for something like VVD’s tackle. I don’t know you word it but surely the red has to be reserved for blatant fouls that hold someone back.

The rules were specifically revised this season regarding denying a goal scoring opportunity so that only challenges that do not make a play for the ball should be a red; any attempt to play the ball is a yellow. Based on that, I think it's another clear appeal in our favor.

The red card was correct he denied a clear goalscoring opportunity, VVD was out of the game without that challange so isak was clean through on goal. The foul itself anywhere else on the pitch or if there was more players around the incident may have gotten away without a yellow but it was the correct call.

If that's the updated rule @snugglepool then we might appeal alright - I think Mac Allister missing three matches vs VvD missing one could mean that they decide to leave it off yet though.

I'm not even sure did he definitely kick through Isak to get the ball, I suppose he had to but I couldn't tell if he 100% got the player first rather than the ball.
