Just been told that Antony Gordon will not be going to Bayern, and that 2 other clubs have put a serious bid in for him, 1 from the Spanish league and 1 from the prem.
I asked who but he could not tell me. I said Ok then tell me who it's not then, and I said tell me it's not Liverpool, he said he couldn't. Let's see what happens with this one.

Atletico in Spain.
22 May 2026 13:26:46
Arsenal in Prem.
22 May 2026 13:34:06
I wouldn't hesitate personally. I'll still say that he can easily cover a deeper midfield position and that left wing. The lad would run his socks off and give a kick up the backside to some of the sulkers - Clair Balding style! I reckon there's been a gentleman's agreement for at least 18 months.
22 May 2026 13:57:12
Headless chicken with less end product than Gakpo.
22 May 2026 15:18:58
Definite yes to Gordon from my perspective.
Can play all across the front line, which is very useful given long term injury & rapid too.
BeKind: Same goal to game ratio as Ekitike.
22 May 2026 15:48:51
I would take Gordon all day for a reasonable fee... 75mil is a bit steep and I know he still has a stench of Blue off him but Reds fan, pace which we desperately need, can play in multiple positions and did I mention pace!!
The interview he done with Neville a couple of years ago, he came across as a decent lad tbf, very different to what I expected.
Good age too! Hopefully not our only winger signing though, he's not a mo replacement, hopefully a Gakpo one though!
22 May 2026 15:50:38
Not good enough right now, though I do feel he could improve with us, way too expensive for what he is. Can't see us doing business with Newcastle after Isak, and we'd b proper smooth brained to even consider it.
22 May 2026 18:00:33
Barcola pisses all over Gordon for me, far better player than Clare Balding
22 May 2026 19:21:50
If I was Newcastle and I had a pump action, you'd be picking stomach meat off the floor of any thing or anyone Liverpool that approaches the club

Lewis Steel, one of the more reliable journalists, now reporting slot 96% will be Liverpool manager next season. Changes all the time.

Lewis's contact was via youth team coaches. Said leaks have now been plugged and instead are being fed bum steers.
Iraola or Hoeness.
22 May 2026 10:10:07
96%? Was his source the Opta supercomputer?
22 May 2026 10:10:21
Grav, your persistence to try and wind people up is crazy. Leave it alone already.
22 May 2026 10:33:10
96%. ?
22 May 2026 10:41:01
So he pulled a number out his backside and ran with it.
22 May 2026 10:41:29
99% of percentages stated as the likelihood of a certain outcome are false.
22 May 2026 10:57:41
96%? That accurate? Nah, that's not a thing.
22 May 2026 10:58:13
I'm 94 per cent certain he's talking out of his Arsenal.
22 May 2026 11:00:03
Where's he reporting that, as I can see nothing on his Twitter feed?
22 May 2026 11:10:58
I'm 100% sure that we will find our one way, or another...
22 May 2026 11:33:10
Everybody knows that 76.3% of statistics are made up.
22 May 2026 12:13:39
Just done some Lewis Steele studies, you know. 60% of the time, he's right every time.
22 May 2026 12:14:47
70% of the time, it works every time.
22 May 2026 12:46:01
His source, Eni Eluko?
22 May 2026 13:30:11
Paraphrasing the lyrical philosophy of Mr Mick Jones:
If he goes, there will be trouble
If he stays, it will be double
What odds Henry and Werner are Clash fans?
Here's hoping!

22 May 2026 13:32:32
When I saw the percentage, I immediately pictured Ron Burgundy holding a bottle of sex panther. ?
Cheers.

Does Lewis Steele's info 'smell like a diaper full of Indian food? '
Yes
22 May 2026 08:47:16
I was speaking with a contact from Germany, he is quite high up the ladder at the team that finished 3rd from bottom in the Bundesliga. Rumour has it Mike Gordon did actually speak to Klopp, as someone mentioned on here but it wasn't to try and convince him to come back. It was get his reccomendation for a potential new manager.
On Iraola, I will retirate that I still don't have any confirmation of interest and he is only being linked because of his connection to Hughes according to the agents knitting circle.

Fields, thank you always for the news.
Is Hornes the recommended candidate and a strong candidate?
22 May 2026 10:12:19
There have been various reports of Klopp speaking to Hoeness about coming to Liverpool.
22 May 2026 11:13:08
Gordon and Klopp are very close. They probably send each other selfies and memes everyday.
22 May 2026 12:03:55
Shiply, what reports are they?
22 May 2026 12:09:39
It would have been a sensible conversation to have in fairness. Klopp's opinion carries serious weight I'd expect with Gordon. And rightly so.
22 May 2026 12:16:27
I wonder if the final two were favoured for reasons beyond the DOF model issue with Alonso, who was Edwards' first choice for a few years.
22 May 2026 12:48:46
Why so cryptic, Fields? Why not just say Wolfsburg?
22 May 2026 14:31:29
Rokki, yes.
FSW, it seems that way.
Kemlyn, it comes with the territory. ?
22 May 2026 14:58:54
That's good news.
When will it be decided??
22 May 2026 15:09:36
Now you've mentioned the name we are going to have to 'un-alive' you @Kemlyn - never name a name. ?
22 May 2026 15:53:34
WDW, I have some "concrete" shoes around somewhere.
Rokki, no timescale. I would imagine it won't be this weekend tho. Hoeness has a cup final to prepare for. I suspect over the next couple of weeks things will ramp up tho
22 May 2026 18:07:12
I'll wait for the news after the final.
Thank you! Fields.
23 May 2026 05:20:45
I didn't write 'unalive'. I honestly don't know how you 'unalive' someone - the word I actually used in a comic post rhymes with the word Bill, but we live in PC days (or in my case iPad days) eh?
22 May 2026 07:51:40
Maybe I am in the minority here but we need to do everything to get Trent back. We anyways need a RB.

22 May 2026 08:36:13
Never gonna happen, and he has severely regressed this season. Have you watched him play for Real? Teams target him every game. He was magnificent for us, but he's been on the decline since Klopp left.
22 May 2026 08:37:34
We need.
22 May 2026 08:39:05
We need a Rb who can defend. I swear Trent used to cost us almost as many goals as he would assist.
22 May 2026 08:51:07
Unfortunately, I think he's burnt his bridges.
Not just by going to Madrid. We could handle it if he wanted a move, but the way he went about it - running his contract down, giving us false hope he was signing a new contract.
For a local lad, to turn his back on the team that gave him the cha
We lost arguably one of the best right backs for pennies. Fo.
22 May 2026 08:56:00
We shouldn't be negative towards Trent; he played very well within the right-back position, fitting well into Jurgen's system. While he might have been even better in the midfield role, where his strengths could have been better utilised, he willingly played at right-back, unlike Gerrard on the right under Benitez for the team.
Just as we seek new jobs for more money or new challenges, footballers deserve the same opportunity. With footballers, careers are short and always one injury away from ending. They should be able to pursue their dreams.
22 May 2026 08:57:49
We can kiss and make up, surely. Just leave his brothers over there.
22 May 2026 09:05:36
Plus he can speak Spanish really well.
22 May 2026 09:06:37
Didn't willingly play anywhere. Wasn't good enough to play in midfield. Superb RB though.
22 May 2026 09:14:26
I think this last season will be the death of Trent's career. He's probably full of regret just like Owen was. But like Owen, who wanted to come back, Trent just won't be welcomed back. We've moved on.
I'm also getting Dele Alli vibes from the whole situation. Once your career stalls to such a drastic extent, it's really hard to regain that confidence and momentum. He's not been accepted by the Madrid fans. The Madrid media have absolutely slaughtered him. Tuchel is going to leave him out of the World Cup squad, etc.
He's ruined his career chasing clout and a 'bromance' with Jude. A massive shame, because he was world class regardless of what his detractors used to say. One of the only players in my lifetime where people were so obsessed with what he wasn't good at, that they totally ignored that he probably has the most complete passing range of anyone in world football for the last 20 years.
From right back, Trent's basically set a record for the most Prem assists by a defender in just 8 years that nobody is going to break even if they play regularly for 10-12 years. Robertson has 60 Prem assists in 11 years as a regular first team player (involved in at least 50% of games) putting him 2nd on the all time list, and he was absolutely incredible. So for Trent to have 64 Prem assists in just 8 seasons as a regular first team player (involved in at least 50% of games) is absolutely ridiculous.
Would I take him back though? No, not unless Klopp's also coming back. Trent got too big for his boots, and it now looks like Klopp kept his ego in check for all those years.
22 May 2026 09:17:18
I wouldn't have an issue with him returning, I just don't want us to pay the £70m+ or whatever to bring him back as he left for pretty much nothing.
There are better RBs out there, and we just need a controller/metronome (Alonso/Gerrard) style player in the middle.
22 May 2026 08:47:44
Yes you are. El Rato is not wanted here
22 May 2026 09:25:48
I loved Trent, and his was the most painful departure since Coutinho, who was my first real hero. For all his flaws, he was simply world class. One of the best ever teams of the PL was built to get the most out of his ability, so that should tell you how good he was despite his defensive "shortcomings". Also, I think he was an average defender when he tried. Still remember how he shut down Sane in the 17/18 CL QF, at a time when Sane was genuinely a terrifying winger.
But, as MKS says, in the last few years the effort in defending simply went down as his ego went up. I would not take him anymore, as it would also set a bad precedent for future players. All due respect, we are not Bilbao/Sociedad where players can leave for greener pastures and return if their moves don't work out. We are one of the biggest clubs in the world and should act like one.
22 May 2026 09:26:35
I wouldn't say we have moved on. I would say we have reversed backwards at speed. You can't say what our current options are at right back, or the Dutch players we are being linked with are an improvement on Trent.
Just more poor recruitment, based on data rather than 2 eyes. Frimpong seems like a nice lad but not what we need.
Bradley, unfortunately for me, needs to be sold or kept as back up. He's not good enough or fit enough. Maybe Wirtz will play there next season if Slot stays. All Wirtz needs to know about Slot's system is to be out of position, pass it sideways very slowly, and let the other team run past you without challenging them. Anyone can do it.
22 May 2026 09:27:57
I can see Trent coming back to play in the Prem if Mourinho doesn't get the best out of him, which he might.
22 May 2026 09:29:08
I do not want him back. He's made his bed - he can lay in it.
However, there have been some whispers in agent circles within the last six months that if the opportunity arose, Trent would jog back to Anfield.
Means nothing because we will not be going in for him now or ever. I suppose it's not much of a surprise considering how poor the Madrid situation is.
22 May 2026 09:47:31
There is no way I would do anything to get him back.
I would sound him out for a fair, but he will have to admit his desire to come back.
While I personally would be ok with him coming back and think he improves us, if he does not have a burning desire to return to us, I'm not interested.
22 May 2026 10:12:15
He made his choice to screw us, let him rot.
22 May 2026 10:16:23
Trent is such a beautiful striker of the ball, but has deficiencies defending. To be honest I would rather have a Robbo type player playing in each of the FB positions than two Trent's playing left and right.
If he had done a Rushie, and Madrid came in with a huge offer the club accepted, then he could come back. Even if he had been honest, a couple of years in advance, about wanting to leave at the end of his contract, people might have been able to accept it.
He chased the money instead of legendary status at his boyhood club.
Everyone will wish Robbo all the best for the future and welcome him back. A bit like Gerrard, thank you for your service and enjoy whatever you decide to do next. As for Trent, good luck trying to win the Ballon d'Or.
22 May 2026 10:38:38
He wouldn't want to come back. It's like coming home with his tail between his legs. He'd think he's been a failure.
Plus, if there were any chance we wanted him back, can you see us paying 50m+ for a player we let go for 10m a year ago?
He'll probably have one more season at Madrid and then go to City or Utd.
22 May 2026 11:03:05
I don't see Klopp going for Trent either. He rarely gets players back with whom he has worked before.
22 May 2026 11:19:30
Taa can fk off! Let him get German lessons we don't want him!!
22 May 2026 12:13:29
Rubbish, BKind. He's a fantastic football player. People make personal decisions all the time. He's streets ahead of anyone else who is currently playing rhs for our club. Best passer of the football I've seen. One of, anyway. He'd be an exceptional asset for Iraola or Hoeness and the team. I'd have him in the morning. And convince Salah to stay also for his remaining year.
22 May 2026 12:34:36
Thank Fowler, you're not running the show then, ShanklysGhost.
22 May 2026 13:34:24
With the ball at his feet, TAA can be world class. As a defender, he can be caught out ball watching and also not being able to anticipate what's going to happen next and so gets caught out of position. An asset in an attacking team that has a high win to loss ratio.
22 May 2026 13:45:49
That interview when he was introduced to the Spanish media at Real did it fir me when he started spouting off in fluent Spanish, supposedly he hadn't made his mind up whether he was staying or going all season, you don't learn Spanish that quick, he'd been planning to sneak out for free for the last 12 months of his contract but pretending he was not sure what he was going to do.
Kept us all with hope he'd stay when infact he was having Spanish lessons every week.
Bellingham played his part and for me like others have said, he's like Owen, a rat and hope he carries on his downward path with Madrid.
Maybe he'll sign for united too when he gets his marching orders.
Not bitter honestly, he's scum
End of!!
22 May 2026 14:41:12
Let's not rewrite history. He was absolutely fantastic for Liverpool.
22 May 2026 14:59:18
He never bothered putting in the hard work to improve his defending.
It was his obvious weakness from the beginning of his career, almost a decade later and there is no improvement. It's just too easy to beat him.
When he gets beaten, his attempts at defending look embarrassing, amateurish. He would never succeed in midfield, Klopp knew that, that's the reason he played at right back.
22 May 2026 15:52:40
Attitude gone to the dogs long before his move. Unbelievable in his hay day, but last season he spent with us there was definitely a drop off, more injuries and still the comment about rather wanting to win the Ballon d'Or over everything else showed his mindset...
Thanks for the memories, Trent, but you made your bed and we need to move on imo!
22 May 2026 16:00:23
You tell me a better RB with his attributes than Gini. There's a reason Jurgen Klopp played him consistently for years. He was the best around. The ones we currently have wouldn't be fit to iron his shirt.
And Salah has another good year left in his locker under the right circumstances for us without doubt. Anyway, it's all about opinion on here and that's mine and you are obviously entitled to yours. Debate is good!!
22 May 2026 19:24:01
People say he was world class RB. No, he wasn't. He was a world class passer and striker of a football that just happened to play at right back, which he did because he wasn't good enough with his positioning or tracking back to make the midfield position, which is where he always played at youth level, his own.
Now, don't get me wrong, he can be amazing going forward. The records speak for themselves. But don't tell me he's a world class RB because for that you need to be a good defender as well, and Trent simply isn't. The amount of times he loses his man at his back post and gets dribbled around like he wasn't there was mind blowing. A player like that is great to have as a luxury in the number 10 role, maybe.
But IMO, if he didn't have grafting team players like Hendo, Wini, Milner and Szob protecting the space in front of his side and covering for him most of his LFC career, he would have been out the side for being too much of a liability when he's isolated.
Let's be honest, he always got away with far more than he ever would elsewhere too because he's one of our own.
No disrespect to the lad, he's clearly an immensely talented athlete, but a world class full back? No chance. Find me a right footed Andy Robertson and we wouldn't even know who Trent was. Best of luck to the lad in Spain or wherever he ends up once he gets chased out of there, which was always bound to happen. Shame, because if he could have worked on his deficiencies in a deeper midfield role we could have had a Scouse Xabi Alonso level player on our hands. Not to be though.
22 May 2026 21:03:24
Trent is a great player but he has as many minutes played at 27 as most players do at like 34. He's peaked.
22 May 2026 23:17:51
Everything has an expiry date.
21 May 2026 22:21:36.
A rumour from a friend who says he was called to a house in Hale Barns, Greater Manchester, to unblock the sewer drain that turned out was blocked by a large brown fat one and loads of cheap bog roll!
Turns out that the house is owned by Arne Slot.
The best bit though, not for him mind, was that there was a for sale sign on the front garden!
Apparently, when Slot first came to Liverpool, he rented a flat somewhere on Merseyside but not sure when he purchased this house that is now up for sale.

Thanks Robbo, mate.
21 May 2026 22:41:56
Thanks, Robbo.
That would be my choice for the job.
21 May 2026 22:45:35
RobboLFC, I hope it is. ? It's for sure Hoeness or Andoni.
21 May 2026 22:48:20
Love the sound of this.
21 May 2026 22:50:35
Graeme Souness would be a great choice. I remember Graeme from Boys From the Black Stuff.
21 May 2026 22:52:46
Are we keen though? I guess this is the more important question. Alonso was very keen, apparently, but look where he is now.
21 May 2026 23:28:42
Hope that's true. Just my opinion, but CL experience, especially the part about man management and method of training to prepare 2 important matches in 1 week is key. That's one of the reasons I rate Houness better than Iraola.
21 May 2026 23:34:51
I'm in favour of giving anyone who wants to play or manage us a chance to prove what they can do if the circumstances are right.
21 May 2026 23:38:11
How did Hieness do in the Bundesliga the years his team was also in Europe, endo? Think I'd rather Ireola out of the two but would be a concern that he's never managed a European Campaign.
22 May 2026 00:17:12
I'd suggest doing what he's done with Bournemouth in the PL easily surpasses what the other fella has done in Germany - cup success and European qualification regardless.
22 May 2026 05:20:00
Both Iraola and Hoeness fall into the "next step to top job" category. Hoeness has marginally more big-club experience with Stuttgart and Bayern 2nd string, Iraola has Premier League experience.
I feel Iraola's style will engage with the fans a little more, but could face issues against low block teams, something he'd face far more at Liverpool.
Hoeness will be more controlled and overall might be the better option for success.
22 May 2026 05:36:33
Thanks Robbo.
If true... he has already embedded himself into Liverpool more than Slot.
At least he can chat to Slot about the ins and outs of the airport in Manchester.
22 May 2026 06:57:26
Theone I would take Shake hands from boys from the black stuff over Slot.
And for all fans that have not seen that series that is a much for the summer.
Pub scene at the end is so funny I would not be surprised if ed025 not in there ?
22 May 2026 07:28:59
Cheers, Robbo. I'll be happy with him or Iraola. If he's getting a feel for the culture, etc, and been talking to Klopp, as well as apparently busting for the job, then I think he'd edge it for me.
Won't be disappointed though if we end up with Iraola though.
Still keeping them crossed!
22 May 2026 09:09:02
He's already got one over on Slot if he has shown an interest in the city.
22 May 2026 09:13:38
Iraola for me. Did you see the way his team attacked Man Cheaty? I was really impressed.
I think that he is the right man to take us back to where we belong.
22 May 2026 09:13:48
Cheers Robbo, definitely my choice, speaking to Klopp regarding the city is a great sign, he needs to go for a pint like Klopp did and meet the people.
22 May 2026 09:29:23
Does he play attacking football?
We need the next Mane, Firmino and Salah trio that frightened oppositions.
Also, most of our players are lightweight players that get pushed around except VVD, get some nasty, hardcore road blocks.
23 May 2026 01:08:10
Someone please tell him to bring Stiller with him!
21 May 2026 19:52:05
I see that Indy has said that Iraoala's has demanded his reps make Liverpool his next job...

Indy also said he witnessed Guehi have an emotional breakdown after his move to Liverpool fell through.
21 May 2026 20:34:57
I assumed Iraola was heading to Palace? Because they're putting his kids through Spanish school? Unless we make similar arrangements to help his family settle in Liverpool...
I'm still gutted we missed out on Alonso, but as long as Slot leaves - we'll be better off.
21 May 2026 20:37:18
To be fair, I think many of us had an emotional breakdown when the Guehi deal fell through.
21 May 2026 20:50:19
Why doesn't Iraola just leave his wife and kids in Spain? Get a hotel near Manchester Airport. And, instead of training between games, just fly back home to see them via Ibiza.
21 May 2026 21:08:04
Ah, now FC8, I can't see a Liverpool manager doing anything as silly as that. Oh wait.....
21 May 2026 21:51:50
To be honest lfc8, I stopped reading after you said 'why doesn't Iraola just leave his wife', and I thought yeah you're right. ?
21 May 2026 22:22:52
I'm sure Trent could put them in touch with a decent Spanish language teacher!!!
21 May 2026 22:36:04
I'm actually not gutted at all about Alonso. I actually believe that Iraola is a better fit for us. I might be totally incorrect, of course, but that's just my opinion. Alonso. Good player for us. Achieved success in Germany against the odds, but I never believed he was the second coming of Christ the Redeemer.
He may well have been. He may well have been not. Between the 2, I prefer Iraola. And hopefully he joins. I have zero opinion on Hoeness, as I know sweet fa about him or his teams other than what has been discussed about him on here.
21 May 2026 22:49:18
SG I watched a lot of him, he is very good, but ye it's out of Hoeness or Andoni.

First time I’ve ever posted a proper rumour…
Just come away from coaching u12s.
Had a new lad join tonight and was chatting to his dad.
His dad asks who I support. I tell him Liverpool.
He tells me that a well known ex player has messaged him this afternoon to tell him Slot is gone and Iraola is the replacement.
I’m not ITK obviously but he is convinced this is happening.

I love a good rumour. ?
21 May 2026 20:21:09
Nice one mate, this rumour makes perfect sense to me.
21 May 2026 20:56:49
This is the type of rumour I like, not some nobody on Twitter. Thanks, mate, let's hope it's true.

The holiday is over.
Iraola will work those players to the bone.
21 May 2026 21:16:21
Who's the ex-player?
21 May 2026 21:26:34
As big as they come, Florian, well maybe after Kenny, as big as they come.
21 May 2026 21:43:55
That's Molby then.
21 May 2026 22:10:45
A boss rumour at that. Takes the site right back to its roots.
21 May 2026 22:10:57
I'm not fully sold on Iraola yet. We've seen managers move to the big clubs in the league after doing well at smaller clubs, even recently like Frank and Potter, and it be a disaster, but one thing I'll give him is his team's fitness levels are brilliant.
Seen a Semenyo interview that they have no days off. Iraola played under Bielsa, who kept his teams as fit as can be.
21 May 2026 23:37:57
Love the rumour. Taxi drivers, hair dressers, window cleaners, mates of youth team coaches and all their friends and relatives - these are the real rumours. Love 'em to bits.
22 May 2026 01:38:41
I believe if all else fails and we don't get Iraola or Blockbuster Hoeness, we're meant to be looking at Graham Parker, well it is a rumour site, sorry.
22 May 2026 09:09:54
So Gerrard? Why not just say the player? All this cloak and dagger stuff. I know it adds to the mystery, but I hate the vagueness.
22 May 2026 09:19:29
I did post the one about the lady in the local chippy. She knowingly mentioned Iraola, and she could definitely get a man to talk.

Just here to once again reiterate that Arne Slot is still leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, as it has been this way for months. His family comes first, and again, he privately admits that he underestimated the size of the job and the club.
The Dutch National Team and Ajax continue to be his current options, with Slot favouring the national side. No offer on the table for that one, but he has an offer from Ajax.
Tentative enquiries have arrived from Saudi Arabia and Italy, but neither tempt him or his family.
Arne Slot would like to rehabilitate his image, and believes the Dutch National Team could be a way of doing that, before jumping to another top job.
However, if the Dutch National Team decides to go down another path i.e. Erik Ten Hag, then he'd be happy to wait, and take an interim role at a top club if a vacancy arises.

Another one, it's ITK Rumours.com now.

This is general comment on Slot and isn't aimed at the veracity of the rumour, Rocky. I'm very much in the camp that whatever possibility there was of him staying was basically quashed when half the first team liked Salah's hand-grenade. Hope I'm right.
I don't believe in crap managers winning the Premier League (except Arteta, obviously), and your post does seem to imply that he's copped that there's a shortfall with his approach. And he's talked about players not doing what he wants them to do a couple of times this season. Surely he can see the role the conditioning (or lack thereof) is playing? So why hasn't he changed what he's doing? He's not thick. That's what I struggle with when it comes to analysing the downfall of Slot.
21 May 2026 19:41:55
Hasn't Ten Hag just started a new role with FC Twente?
21 May 2026 20:02:15
Slot could do Ajax, the Dutch national team, and still fit in another club given his current work ethic.
21 May 2026 20:17:25
Thanks, Rocky. How's Pauli and the family? So happy you beat Ivan.
21 May 2026 20:33:26
Why would he take an interim role when it's the summer? Did you mean to post this back in November?
21 May 2026 20:52:02
There is no tomorrow. There is no tomorrow!
21 May 2026 22:09:45
Adriaaaaaaannn!!!
21 May 2026 22:16:58
I've just come back from a break in Italy, and had a few beers with a guy well connected to Alax. They are desperate to get Slot.
21 May 2026 23:37:08
Are they as desperate as we are to see the back of him. Now that's desperate.
