I really hope we keep him if he wants to stay . He's been a great serving to the club and if he stays he provides depth and cover for a few positions and his experience is key and good for the younger players . Make him cup games captain or something.

Not only on the pitch but off it too- always seemed to have helped the younger kids settle so well. He encouraged Suarez to stay for another year and is best mates with Coutinho and Firmino- they'll suffer the loss more than we will.

Hope the move doesn't happen as I absolutely love the lad, but can't blame him if he wants more football, he's earned it. Brilliant player and servant and will be sorely missed if he goes.

why are we selling him so cheaply? the quoted figure seems pretty low for such a versatile player, its sad to see a long serving player leave, however if he is not going to get game time its probably for the best, good bye and good luck lucas leiva, I shall always wonder what his time with us would have been like if he had played as a attacking midfielder which he was when we originally bought him.

Whilst I agree he with all the praise for the man expressed above, there comes a time to move on, and this is probably the right time. It will open up opportunities for others, either Stewart, or a new player (Medel? ) .

Don't get the idea that he is going to a lower level by going to Turkey as opposed to EPL side. 2/ 3rds of the EPL sides are no better than the sides in the top division in Turkey.

Possible Ed01, If so y would we keep him here? I see no reason. He is a top loyal Servant, No question about it. But there comes a time when you move out the old ones to bed in the younger ones.

Lucas is a poor, poor defensive midfield player.

He has no positional sense, tackles from the wrong side and gives far too many free kids away.

Oops, sorry everyone. That's was the opinion of him before we had Hendo to aim vitriol at, who's position was taken by Allen.

What a excellent player and club servant he is. It's unbelievable to think of all the abuse he took and yet he still never bad mouthed the club. Personally I would keep him. He's still a vital part of the squad and also a respected voice in the dressing room I for one will certainly miss him.
