on BBC sport that Man City are in breach of multiple Premier league rules, every season going back over about 5 seasons.
Source on twitter saying points deductions may be on the table as punishment.
This will never happen, City filling brown envelopes as we speak and booking the best restaurant/ hotel in London for the expected disciplinary meeting.

A big move by the Premier League.

It’s 100 separate breaches of FFP from 2009-2018 with further breaches on obstructing investigation from seasons 2019-2022, if I’ve read correctly.

Over 100 breaches over last 4 years it said on radio. Point deduction and transfer ban next season?

{Ed025's Note - its a witch hunt, nothing will happen imo..

Manchester City, financial irregularities? I'd have never have guessed. Probably something to do with one of their sponsorships, which allegedly pays them silly money even though they've not turned a profit for 18 years or something, ha.

I agree ed. brushed under carpet with plenty of brown envelopes too.

{Ed025's Note - yeah magico, if it started in 2008 why is it only coming to light now?..

Weird PL coming after one of their special own though don’t you think? Must be pretty sure they have a solid case. Remember ManCity were reprieved last time due to legal time outs from CAS having been found guilty by UEFA.

A witch hunt? Funniest thing I have read since reading that Farhad Moshiri is actually Alexander Usmanov’s chaffeur.

{Ed025's Note - let he who is without sin cast the first stone, they are all cheats and liars stetienne, liverpool very much included mate..

The premier league starting their own investigation in 2018,it has taken them 4 years, and understandably so. I. Imagine this is an extremely complex investigation and don't forget, City will have their own lawyers going through with a fi e toothed comb, so the PL case has to be water tight.
Expect this to be a very long, drawn out case with multiple appeals etc.

06 Feb 2023 11:46:16
Clutching at straws absolutely nottin will happen as always! They’ve been balancing the books the last few windows and now they are the most profitable club in the world so move on nothing to see here!

{Ed025's Note - spot on jay..

06 Feb 2023 12:20:56
Maybe the couch lawyers can sit this one out? Lol one key difference vs UEFA is that PL don’t have that time thing. Wasn’t the technicality that helped City win with CAS was that the alleged breaches were too long ago? Whereas PL doesn’t have that in their rules? Or something like that.

Anyways, throw enough sh*t then something will stick eventually. Unless they’re squeaky clean.

And they wonder why a Super League was discussed.

These clubs with wealthy owners will not stand to answer to Uefa or Fifa or even the Domestic League that they play in.

It's only a matter of time before the Super League will be born out of investigations like these.

1st Juve, now City. who's next? Super League going to be expedited now.

06 Feb 2023 12:40:10
It's not the first time the old lady has been in trouble, they had a league title stripped from them a number of years back for some negative sporting behaviour I can't remember.

06 Feb 2023 12:44:12
Wow we might be playing City in the championship next season.

{Ed025's Note - god i hope so jim.. :)

I revall that Snoots. clearly that have learnt their lesson!

But that's my point. they were/ still are one of the major instigators of the Super League.

I'm pretty sure that City and Juve are not the only ones guilty of whatever they have been accused of (Juve having been found guilty), so I can see other teams pushing harder for the Super League.

15.) 06 Feb 2023
06 Feb 2023 13:19:27
Not holding my breath.
Even if they get found guilty what punishment could they possibly give out that money won’t simply fix for them overnight.

Faith: 'maybe the couch lawyers can sit this one out. ' proceeds to give own opinion on the matter contradicting exactly what they have just said.
Its Statements like this that take away from perfecy good threads where people are having a healthy discussion.

Yeh Jay, City with their Worldwide fanbase now top the Deloitte money table ahead of those provincial sides Madrid, Utd, Barca and Lfc. Absolutely nothing to see here. And its easier to break even in the transfer market when you've already assembled your mega squad, would have thought that fairly obvious.

{Ed001's Note - I just hope the investigation has included City always reporting a full house even though the stadium is continually half empty. There is no way that isn't a scam too.}

18.) 06 Feb 2023
06 Feb 2023 14:20:19
Ed001 do you think that could be that those tickets are sold / “allocated” somehow or donated even and therefore they can spin it as a “sell out” even though the seats are empty?

{Ed001's Note - I think it is more likely they just put them through the books as sold to increase income. The income they receive would be much lower if 10k+ seats each week were being given as donations, rather than being sold. It is easy enough for them to just put an extra few mill into the pot, they can also adjust the income for merchandising, food sales etc that they would have had if there really were people in those seats.

If they were donated, someone would use the tickets as they would be free and then they wouldn't be able to claim the revenue for FFP purposes.}

Smells like the London mob want arsenal to win the league. Any points should be deducted at start of season.

20.) 06 Feb 2023
06 Feb 2023 16:13:15
Super league had few founding members which were the old school clubs, Utd, madrid amongst others. One of the reasons it was founded was because oil clubs were spending what they wanted without reprimand. Their idea was to be more strict on these clubs spending what they earned born out of frustration with Uefa and the domestic authorities. So to think this will kick start the super league so they can do as they please may be premature thinking.

21.) 06 Feb 2023
06 Feb 2023 17:43:01
scouse john don't you think Arsenal should be looked at the money they have spent with no europe?

22.) 06 Feb 2023
06 Feb 2023 17:53:16
The naming rights of the stadium all them years ago was a stink aswell
Pretty sure it wasn’t a kick in the teeth off 4x as much as the highest previous naming rights in the league . Quick transfer from 1 account to the other from mansoor me thinks . Arsene wenger was livid at the time I recall

Hopefully their made Accountable and hopefully it’s a watershed moment for those dodging and bending the rules .

I suspect a few palms will be greased and nothing will happen and city will be everyone’s favourite team again .

Yawn.

I am so jealous i would love LFC to be charged for OVER-spending in the future?

Jesse Marsch looks like he has had his Marsching Orders!

Cheats and liars Ed25? If Usmanov is bankrolling Everton that is a breach of the sanctions imposed on Russia for their part in the Ukraine war. A lot more serious than poxy football. That is no mere stone in a glasshouse! Don’t even try and brush it off so.

As for the Man City case. Série A have set a precedent and demoted Juventus and stripped titles. We bang the anti-corruption drum but we need the PL to prove it is not corrupt and their time is now.

I do not expect anything to happen and English football’s integrity will go with it. Football’s coming home? Yes, to a cesspit of bribery and thieves.

{Ed025's Note - as i said stetienne the game is full of cheats and liars, you mention usmanov at everton but i could mention the despicable practices at liverpool who have tapped up players, ruined young players futures and are just as despicable as the rest mate...so dont mention glass houses to me..

26.) 07 Feb 2023
07 Feb 2023 09:15:01
So you’re comparing war profiteering and funding to tapping up players? I am done, I don’t need to say anymore.

World has finally gone mad.

{Ed025's Note - you dont listen do you?, you are trying to make this about everton and have a holier than thou attitude when it comes to cheating, all clubs do it as well as all businesses and governments, yes there are degrees but your jealousy of city seems to have no bounds..

27.) 07 Feb 2023
07 Feb 2023 18:29:34
while I agree to an extent ed, Liverpool were punished for all those transgressions city haven't received a punishment yet, should it be proven they have indeed transgressed.

{Ed002's Note - yes they have.}
