Ed's if Fabinho was sold would we look for a more experienced dm than lavia or would we be happy with just him coming in.

The last time i watched Marcos Llorente play was when he scored twice in extra time to knock us out the Champions League. Good player though.

Had a significant number of injuries last season, has plied his trade in Spain his entire career, and wouldn’t come cheap. Extremely risky move in my opinion abd not who I would’ve hoped we went for if Fabinho was set to leave.

The recent information might explain why interest in some players was shelved the last week or two. Didn't make sense to fully commit without knowing who was staying or going.

If both Hendo and Fab go, I hope it is the following:

1X top 6
1x young 6/ 8
1x left sided CB

That squad will be ready to compete with an extremely high ceiling.

Hi Ed002. Are you aware of any other senior names other than Llorente as you mentioned who might be considered?

I think of all the defensive mids previously discussed (Lavia, Varela, Thuram, Kone etc) they are all pretty young so probably wouldn’t be a ready Fabinho replacement.

I’m struggling to think of other viable options!

Thuram and Kone have gone quiet in terms of Liverpool. Gravenberch may still be an option. Versatile players like Barella, Zielinski and Valverde available but a DMs.}

Marcos Llorente is an interesting shout, CM who is good in defensive play and also experience at RB position so would work well in terms of providing cover for Trent in games where Trent is transitioning into midfield. The player appears to play predominantly on the right and would not be considered a typical DM so a little surprised if it were solely him coming on to replace Fabs however if both Fabs and Hendo leave and we have Llorente and Lavia coming in then this makes more sense to me. Alternatively if just Hendo leaves and is replaced by Llorente then that’s a good piece of business as I think Llorente is probably more suited to box to box style CM being deployed more on the right of midfield akin to Hendo’s typical role.

It's probably worth pointing out that Fabinho would have been around 24 when he came to LFC.

Thuram and Kone are 22, so there's not a great deal of difference. Especially in the case of Kone who has gathered a lot of experience, despite his age.

I rated Llorente really highly a few seasons ago, iv not watched much Atletico since and presume his performance have dropped off as you don’t hear too much buzz around him anymore.
