Is there a chance we look at Andre Trindade for this summer window? I remember his name from a while ago. Just wondering if he is an option for LFC this summer? Thank you and good day.

Kloppolad

{Ed002's Note - Andre Trindade (DM/CM) Recommended to Liverpool as Fabinho cover two years ago, but concerns that he may not have been able to obtain a Work Permit put off any move. Barcelona would like to take him but will not have space in the squad for another non EU player. Fulham are concerned they will lose Joao Palhinha and have identified Maia and AT as possible replacements. Braga may offer an option. Agents are working had to get him a move this summer.}

1.) 15 Jul 2023 22:02:31
Risky but maybe this is what Klopp meant when he said that he'd like the club to take more risks in the transfer market. I've read circa £25m but if he came to a lower ranked pl club and had a good season they'd be looking north of £60m next year.

2.) 16 Jul 2023 08:37:31
Half the price of lavia. So many factors dictate who settles better though, and Lavia is already settled in the UK and comes from a place with equally bad food and weather.

3.) 16 Jul 2023 11:00:54
We will end up going for Berg Sheff United he’s about as bargain basement as FSG like them.

4.) 16 Jul 2023 12:04:27
Whitewater, where do you get this bargain basement rubbish from? Szoboszial 60 mill Gapko 39 mill Nunez 64 mill Diaz 35 mill Konate 35 mill Jota 41 mill Thiago 20 mill and Mc Allister 35 mill. Are hardly bargain basement prices.

5.) 16 Jul 2023 16:25:36
Langland, but we are not getting Mbappe, Bellingham and Neymar, like Whitewalker would do on CM or FIFA.

#FsGout.

Good morning Ed’s,

Are liverpool in talks with lavia or Southampton? Thanks.

Kloppolad

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 26 Jun 2023 20:46:05
Good!

{Ed025's Note - not a fan then Ron?..

23 Jun 2023 09:01:26
Question for ed002 if it’s ok, you mentioned the other day that interest was growing in kone in a post, did you mean from other clubs? Or from liverpool? Thanks.

Kloppolad

{Ed002's Note - From othe r clubs.}

1.) 23 Jun 2023 10:46:49
If Thiago goes, could you see Kone being bought also? Kone, Thuram, AMA and Viega is quite a posse of golden boys. Having 3 top young French players would be good for their settling in too.
The thought of Thuram, AMA, Viega and Kone for 130m and just north of 200k p/ w wages combined is highly appealing.

{Ed002's Note - Done to death.}

2.) 23 Jun 2023 12:20:58
Kone would be perfect for us in the double pivot. Fabinho’s legs gone. Bajcetic raw. Thiago injury prone.
Considering these factors and the fact that Kone, Ibou and Thuram are buddies, buying both for 65m is a no brainer.

3.) 23 Jun 2023 12:54:53
Or just buy some ready made class instead. like rice or barella.

4.) 23 Jun 2023 13:14:20
Im always surprised by the amount of time people have to watch all ligue one and bundesliga games to form an opinion on players like thuram and kone.

5.) 23 Jun 2023 13:47:09
I'm straight up never seen either play. maybe kone but probably had no interest apart from a bet. Guessing most haven't either.

6.) 23 Jun 2023 14:07:56
I believe some of the transfer delays has got to do with the issues in the transfer of kephren thuram. I may be wrong.

7.) 23 Jun 2023 17:01:40
Magico, we didn't go for Bellingham, we're not going to go for Rice for £100m mate.

It's time we learned not to get our expectations up for world class players, it's not our model under FSG.

People were talking about Jude for a year asking the same questions constantly to death.

I think it's time we move on from top ready-made players in the crazy-price bracket.

We buy cheap, young/ mid 20s with potential to develop into world class. That's always been the way.

8.) 23 Jun 2023 17:13:44
How's that working out for us gregarious? Which world class players have we made?
Yes your right we won't go for the ready made class players because we are cheap. And we'll get what we deserve. You seriously think we'd of won league and champs league without spending big on alli and vvd? Sure we had a decent team but the big spending takes you to the extra level.

9.) 23 Jun 2023 17:40:54
Good point, which world class players have we made? Our last two young purchases were Elliot (no one seems to know his best position) and Carvalho (could barely get 5 minutes when our midfielders were either injured or woeful) . Were the forwards improved by us or did we buy really well there?
Honest question but do we have a World Class player in the squad, one that City, Real, PSG are willing to drop 100m on?

10.) 23 Jun 2023 20:08:05
Trent.

11.) 23 Jun 2023 20:45:21
It makes it all the more remarkable the levels of success Klopp has achieved with a squad of apparently average players.

12.) 23 Jun 2023 21:27:48
TAA, Salah and Alison are world class, thiago, VVD, robbo, mane are top players who were best in their positions.

13.) 23 Jun 2023 22:24:14
Salah, Trent, Alisson are world class. What player scores 30 goals in such a crap team if he wasn't world class. Name me 5 better RW's. Jeez, the guy is so unappreciated its disgusting.

14.) 23 Jun 2023 23:10:26
I would be cautious about signing anymore players from Bundesliga. Most that have come over have been flops, especially the big money ones, sancho, Keita, Werner, Havertz, etc. Haaland has been okay I suppose….

If Kone is cheap enough then I can’t see it being a risk. We need youth and energy, hopefully alexis provides the class. Our current midfield is terrible. Would love to see Trent there full time.

15.) 24 Jun 2023 05:59:30
Yes salah is world class but we didn't make him class. his desire and hunger made him class. like ronaldo and Messi he dedicated himself to reach the peak. We have been very lucky to have him. Alli was class before we bought him as was vvd. hence the money paid for them. Trent and hendo are the ones who have excelled the most for me.

16.) 24 Jun 2023 07:33:21
Magico

Liverpool have a history of making class players mate we have never bought the final product even before the yanks going back decades . IMO

To say Liverpool haven’t had a part in salah becoming world class is just utter nonsense and your twisting things to try make yourself look right . It’s everything Liverpool gave him the platform and a team around him that suited him but it’s also the fans adulation and him being happy in his life and environment that has made him what he is along with the hard work and determination.

Match made in red heaven if you ask me .

17.) 24 Jun 2023 07:33:54
Salah starts in a world XI for most sane people. Saka and Rodygro are the next best right wingers and you get about half the goals from them that Salah throws down consistently. Nobodies been near Salah since Bale fell apart and Messi moved central.

Alisson arguably isn't far off starting in a world XI too although it's a more subjective position and Ter Stegen, Courtois, Ederson and Oblak are all fair arguments.

Trent is a world class footballer but he plays in half spaces quite unique to Liverpool's system. So it's harder to say if he's the best in his role because it's hard to say what his role is. Nobody else in world football except maybe Cancelo can do it but you can see why Trent is marmite, particularly among the purists.

Virgil and Thiago maybe were world class in their prime 3 or 4 years ago but neither of them are even close now. They can still do world class things but their overall game has dropped miles off it on a consistent basis.

I agree with Ed025 by the way, that Alexis Mac Allister could become the best South American to ever play for Liverpool. I can easily see him becoming world class in a better team over the next 6-8 years. He is the closest thing to a young Gundogan in world football.

18.) 24 Jun 2023 07:57:33
Steady on @MK, Mac Allister hasn’t played a game for us yet mate. We need to buy 1, maybe 2, more mids and then we’ll have to see how they all fit in / settle into their roles. I sincerely hope you are right about the lad though.

19.) 24 Jun 2023 08:52:46
Just a prediction WDW, don't let it ruin your day that some people are positive ?.

20.) 24 Jun 2023 10:23:36
People talking as if we went shopping in the gutter and found some players with one eye, one leg no liver and somehow Klopp turned them into halfway event players.

21.) 24 Jun 2023 14:53:22
How many players in the world are clubs willing to drop 100mill on? Very few. Trent, Alisson, Konate, Salah and VVD (yes still) would play regularly for most clubs in the world.

29 May 2023 12:33:50
Good afternoon Ed’s, any idea where Fabio carvalho is headed? Sounds like he’ll be out the door on a permanent. Feel sorry for the guy.

Kloppolad

{Ed002's Note - Burnley has a declared interest but I suspect his agent will look for better options.}

1.) 30 May 2023 06:23:03
One kiss you having a laugh, Henderson and milner poor players a captain and vice captain over the past 5 years where we have won everything, ox feel sorry for he was unplayable at times injuries have killed him. Keita agreed but if we signed him for 30million would it be poor price tag hasn't done him any favours and Gomez, again 2 cruciate knee injuries and lack of confidence has shot him. So I don’t see poor players ?.

25 May 2023 15:49:32
Hello,

Do Real Madrid have any interest in Andy Robertson? Thank you.

Kloppolad

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach and they have a clear first choice target that they know they won't be able to sign, but I suspect they could look elsewhere.}

1.) 25 May 2023 18:24:04
Robbo's one of elite, a winner and a great dressing room presence. He's going nowhere! ?.

2.) 25 May 2023 20:07:52
Hi, Ed. I heard some roumers that we were going to play with a 3 back line next season. Is there anything to it? Are we looking for a starting CB and at the same time keeping all the others?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what the tactical plans are. I have explained about interest in CBs.}

Does anyone know the plan with Fabio carvalho? He looks like a player with promise and he’s being wasted, not playing. I wonder if he’ll be loaned out.

Kloppolad

1.) 19 Apr 2023 09:58:34
Plan is for Klopp to extend Milner’s contract so that he can personally see to him achieving the most appearances in Premier League history. This will unfortunately come at the cost of Carvalho making more than 5 appearances in the season before being kidnapped by the Blackpool mafia only for Klopp to use his share of Milner’s appearance bonus to free him…. I’m sorry I couldn’t resist.

All jokes aside this is all plausible. What with Milner’s potential contract extension. Coming off the bench in every game no matter the opposition or scoreline. And importantly coming off the bench in front of the likes of young talent like Carvalho. Or even better Carvalho not even making the match day squad in a number of games. In short the plan could literally be anything. From suddenly featuring in the team. To being a bit part player, to bring loaned out never to return, to even being sold to the likes of say Dortmund where he goes on to have a stellar career.

2.) 19 Apr 2023 10:15:49
To add a bit of balance as well, we don't see what Klopp and his coaches see on the training ground. There may be other reasons why Fabio isn't ready yet (or even, worst case, may never be ready) that we may not be aware of.

Klopp doesn't have any issue promoting and using young players - initially with promoting Trent and more recently Harvey Ellior and Bajcetic as well. Klopp's history with young/ youth players at Liverpool makes me think there may be other underlying factors as to why Milner (for example) is being chosen ahead of Fabio.

Do any of the Eds have any insights from contacts closer to the club as to why we are not seeing so much of Fabio? Has he not settled well into the area or the structure?

3.) 19 Apr 2023 10:21:03
Milner rarely plays in Carvalho’s position though.

4.) 19 Apr 2023 10:32:48
I think it's just Klopp taking his time with Carvalho. He is known for that. Carvalho is still fairly young and has time on his side so I am not too concerned with him not getting game time now.

5.) 19 Apr 2023 11:23:02
I like James Milner, think he's been fantastic for us and one of the best free signings we've ever had. However, I hope he leaves sooner rather than later because these last couple of years is too much and its ruining it. Honestly I'm sick of the sight of him and I feel like turning the match off whenever he comes on ?.

6.) 19 Apr 2023 12:49:53
Fab Carvalho nees to bide his time right now. A team performing as poorly as we have been, is no place for young player to come in and get games regularly. People will talk about Baj and all that BUT Baj was in the academy and Klopp had seen him play there a lot. Fab does not have that advantage and so, I think Klopp will just shut him down for the season and give him a go next season cos these circumstances are horrible for him, IMO.

7.) 19 Apr 2023 12:56:41
Rumoured to be leaving 1 way or another by fabrizio Romano today. I bloody hope not, he'll become a fantastic player that boy.

8.) 19 Apr 2023 13:00:11
Signing Gakpo in January basically put the tin lid on Carvalho's season.

I think the kid has a very high ceiling and I wouldn't be averse to selling Jota and giving Carvalho that squad role next season.

But also, as others have said, he may be struggling to settle at the moment.

9.) 19 Apr 2023 13:09:44
With you on that Thomas194. Immensely grateful for the loyal service and all that he has done for the club. He's a vital part of all that we have won in recent years. But there comes a time when you have to step aside because you're creating a traffic jam behind you. And you shouldn't let the door hit you on the back.

10.) 19 Apr 2023 15:34:10
Carvalho looks picture perfect to be the next "Bobby Firmino", he surely deserves future chances in that position, it could be that is his position and not a winger or central midfielder, he was not even on the bench for the Leeds game Monday Night.

With his sultry looks, rumour has it the Liverpool City Centre Girls are extracting the best from him, and not the football pitch!

11.) 19 Apr 2023 17:54:48
Jones played well during the last game. But my view is that Carvalho is a better player and usually plays better. Injuries and fitness aside, I don't understand why he is not being given minutes.

I just wish Klopp would stop screaming from the rooftops, about players, during the summer training and warm up games. He did it with Ben Woodburn. He did it with "Billy the kid" Koumetio. He then did it with Harvey Elliott. And last summer he did it with Carvalho. It's like a kiss of death that he's given them all. ?.

12.) 19 Apr 2023 19:00:13
ArAy1969, it's kinda looking that way right now with that track record.

I can only assume he’s city bound if that’s the case. Can’t see him wanting to play for us over them. But let’s hope the clubs can agree a deal and get it done asap.

Considering a lot of fans don’t like how he defends, they’d hate him in dm, mobile and passing ability he’s but he’d have to do more defending there than he would arguably at right back when we’re at our bests and probably now.

I think once he gets into rhythm he’ll be ruthless, he’s a chance magnet, he’s still raw but similar to benfica he didn’t score many in his first and loads in his second, once he’s settled in next season I think he’ll score a bucket load. I love him he’s pure chaos and makes stuff happen.
