I just watched Lavia get off the plane at Brisbane international
It seems Southhampton we’re fed up with things and decided a loan deal was best with Brisbane Roar being the most suitable
I am told that they will loan him to Liverpool before the Chelsea match…. wonderful news this as it was stressful at times
Apparently Robbie Fowler had a part to play in getting the deal done.

Funny how we wrap up Mac and Szobo quickly and quietly for what seems like shrewd business, but all anyone can talk about is how many bids we're making and getting rejected for Lavia and that makes us embarrassing and terrible at negotiations. Who cares how many times we bid? If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, then we didn't want him that bad. Get over it and move on.

Bored with the moaning about this now. None of us knows what's going in, including the Twitter goons who publish an update every 12 seconds. I see the same reports on this dozens of times a day. It's as if we're on the phone to Southampton 24/ 7 incrementing the fee by a tenner - clue, we aren't.

Reminds me of the scene in Bad Santa with Bernie Mac, it seems quite obvious our options outside of Lavia are thin on the ground and Southampton can see this, we have also put ourselves in the rubbish by getting rid of Henderson and Fabinho (we did well out of both deals though), had this not happened we could have maybe played a bit more hardball and walked away until later in the window to see if Southamptons stance would change. For me we got at least 10m more than market value for Fabinho so maybe we just take the hit with Lavia and pay £5m more than we think he’s worth as we don’t really seem to have any other options.
