Ed2, is it true that we may have finally agreed a deal with Southampton for Lavia?

If so, would you assume Gravenberch would be the next target or is he just one of a few we're considering?

Ed002 do you still expect us to sign a cb if we sign Lavia. I think when need a cb over another midfielder we look very week there matip and Gomez are well past there best and I don’t think Konate is nowhere near the level for us to challenge for the big prizes.

Lavia and Gravenberch have exceptionally high ceilings and I can see the logic in recruiting them. Both highly technical and physical. Both would be long-term projects. The onus will be on Klopp, Ljinders, Matos et al to ensure they develop well along with all of the other projects like Elliott, Curtis, Bajcetic, Doak and even Szobozlai, who is only 22.

With the faffing around with systems over the last two years, I can't be the only one worried about what is happening on the training pitch at the moment. Is our coaching team big enough for this many simultaneous projects?

Lastly, the best we can really hope for is a top 4 challenge given we are buying projects to come in and replace seniors immediately. I guess we just need to make peace with that.

Lavia and Gravenberch - yep has Europa written all over it. One is a prospect and the other a mediocre bench warmer. Caceido should have been the one.

Caceido is not the one as Brighton are holding firm for £100m. We weren't prepared to pay that for Bellingham ;/ I'd be happy with Lavia and Gravenberch, Klopp can work his magic and make a monster midfield plus back ups.

Plus although I do actually like Konate/ VVD partnership, I would love for us to sign a top CB to compete and potentially give us an option of playing 3 at the back in certain scenarios

Who's the top target for CB now a few more have become unavailable?

I'd take thuram over gravenberch. Ryan gravenberch negotiations would take forever I feel. But I just hope they get who they want and quickly.

Agreed Magico. But the Thuram talks took a long time too; or at least the rumours and the headlines did. The feeling is that Gravenberch is probably the more achievable of the two, even though I would take Kone before Gravenberch (but then Kone injured himself so out of the picture) . The least achievable (and probably take the most time) is that Andre Trindade fella from Brazil. But the Brazilian season is in full swing, his club doesn't want to sell right now but perhaps at the end of their season in December, and there are joint ownership issues too.

I can’t see why we don’t put offers in for more than 1 player at a time? We need at least 4 and the season starts in 4 days. Sat waiting for a few days to offer Southampton below what they want again.
