The biggest issue we have is the tactical one. We look vulnerable defensively, which, as many experts say, will not be sorted by a DM alone.
If this is Salah's last season, we should be going for it, full tilt, but what can we do?
What do people suggest?
Luis is not worth the risk at 120m, not a chance.
Dacoure is good, but there is someone as good for half the money out there, somewhere. and we know how FSG function. They want and need value.
LCB should be a bit easier, and absolutely essential to bring balance. Tsimi and Phillips sales could cover half a good LCB.
There will surely be one more signing at least, but who will it be?

No panic signings for me. Stay well clear of Phillips. Dacoure I know nothing about. I like our value singings and waiting for the right player. If Andre is a good fit and Jan is the time and the price being mooted is true, then I'd play who we have now and wait.

Philips was excellent under Bielsa. playing as a lone DM he coverd more grounds than Ussain Bolt did in his sprint. But he is not the same player ever since and has a poor injury record. Stay clear or spend the money on Nunes.

Understand Liverpool have outbid Chelsea for Moises Caicedo which would also help explain Chelsea's bid for Lavia. Suggestion however remains that Caicedo would prefer Chelsea move. (law)

Without a decent transfer window we would be even more boring to watch as team would bypass us like we don't exist. This window is extremely important for the club.
Caicedo is one of the best ball winner / destroyer we have in the league. I have no idea how he would fit into a hybrid set up. We definitely need an out and out DM / holding mid.

Pole didn’t the club announce though that they were walking away from it due to the cost of the rebuild of the whole midfield.
Either way Lavia seemed ahead of Caceido in our pecking order but we clearly don’t believe Lavia is worth 50 mill and Caceido is double the price.
If we believe Caceido is worth more than Lavia then why wasn’t he ahead of Lavia in our pecking order.
I just hope it’s not tit for tat. Chelsea have bid for Lavia so we now enquire about Caceido as we know he was Chelsea’s no1 target.

Nunez seems to be an 'option' rather than a definite starter.
Its a lot of money for an option/ project.
I do wonder if he can learn/ improve some of the headless things that he does. Shearer thinks he will be fine.
