Why do you think there isn't the fan-love towards Sturridge?

He doesn't have a 'song' even though he has been here long enough.

Is it that some fans feel he let us down by being injured?

Is it the supposed arrogance, which by the way, every top striker has/ needs?

Either way, do you think the comments from a recent interview will change the situation - ie, make it worse?

It reminds me back in the day when God used to play with us and Owen came on the scene. We all know that Owen did not like the adoration we gave to Fowler and that Owen was not held in the same esteem.

Owen scored a lot of goals for us and single-handedly won a lot of games, but there was never that bond with the fans.

To me, with Sturridge, when he scores we all celebrate, but apat from that there isn't the 'fan-love'.

Because Liverpool fans are fickle, and like taking potshots at our own players.

I wouldn't be too fussed if he was replaced.

He's never been the main man he was good with Suarez and since he's spent the whole time injured. He's a very good player when fit no doubt but he's not our best player he's not our most important player his attitude stinks the only credit I'd have given him about his attitude before today would've been "atleast he hasn't said anything in public" but now he has. He's always got a face on him when he comes off even though we all know it's for his own good. Having said all of this he should have a song but so should 4/ 5 other players because we need something to get an atmosphere going. The best songs in recent years were about Rodgers and Suarez.

{Ed001's Note - I don't get this at all. What is the issue with his attitude? Do you want mercenary lazy gets who don't give a toss? Because that is what you are suggesting. If he is happy being subbed then you should worry.}

Probably the best natural finisher in the league, personally love the bloke.

I agree a lot of the best strikers are arrogant about their abilities, but does that mean they don't have to work hard?

Suarez had more ability than anyone up top for us, yet the lad ran everywhere, worked back and cared if the team won not just if he scored. That's why he had a song, that's why he was loved and that's why Sturridge needs to get over himself and knuckle down ore move on.

No one is bigger than the club. I'm excited to see what Klopp can get out of Origi and Ings anyway.

I just don't think he's a team player. doesn't seem to want to bust a gut for us. lazy, never liked him never will think jurgen is of the same opinion? really think the club wants rid now. think he will want out too, now he is not the first name on the team sheet. ( was he still sat on his ass last week after losing the ball an Newcastle ran up the field and scored? ) it would be nice if my opinion is wrong but somehow I doubt it.

Sturridge is a class player and a player we need, also an experience striker like Sturridge would be good for Origi and Ings to learn from.

I can never understand why people don't like Sturridge. He's no more lazy, greedy, or selfish than the vast majority of other strikers in the game. He's on the pitch to score and create opportunities to score, not play as a holding midfielder. As far as selfish, Coutinho has taken 100 shots now in the league this year and scored eight. That, for me, is greedy and selfish and is a poor return with only 8 goals to show for it yet I don't see many complaining about it as he offers a lot to the side. For whatever reason many just don't like Sturridge which given how good he is I just can't understand. Maybe he needs to take a bite out of someone to get a decent song.

RDL people like Coutinho because the guy will track back and tackle and bust his balls. His game has developed this over last couple of seasons and the fans see it. If DS did the same he'd be irreplaceable. But sadly he doesn't graft for the team and that's why he didn't start Thursday night, because klopp needed workers who would run off the ball, we couldn't afford to carry anyone and when the opposition have the ball sadly it's 11 against 10 when he plays!

It's not at all like that. With him up top, he's by himself. If he tracked back all the time and we actually won the ball back in midfield, who do we play it to? No one, that's who. Sturridge by himself can't press a keeper and 2 CBs, so why should he bother? That said, a game or two back he was one of the last three in defense after tracking all the way back and made a decent tackle. He doesn't do it regularly as he would be out of position and it's not his job on the pitch.

{Ed001's Note - he is one of the best strikers in the world, he does track back, but right now it is not what we need him to do, so he isn't doing it as much. I really do not understand why people are on his back. We are lucky to have him.}
