Well, big game tomorrow and as usual, it's my favourite game of the season and somehow also my worst. It's once fixture I genuinly feel sick prior too, and the one game you don't want to lose. If we were 6 months down the line I think I'd be a lot more confident of a result than I am. But as it is, you have a settled side, with a manager who's been in charge for a year now and has had last season to get your team playing they way he wants. Jose on the other hand has still not found his best 11 yet imo, injuries haven't helped, and players are still settling in to a new way with Jose. I don't think we'll see a proper Jose team into after Christmas.

I see a lot of optimism on here, and your rightly favourites for this match. Yet I think some posters expecting an easy 3-0 or 4-0 win could easily come unstuck. We may not have played well so far this season, yet we do have 7 wins from 11 games under Jose, hardly shoddy. Rooney is the main problem and it seems he's finally been dropped for the good of the side.

I expect you to have more of the ball that us tomorrow and at home be on the front foot. But if we can keep you at bay, I think we have the individuals to cause you problems. Zlatan will be a danger from set pieces, and with the pace of Rashford and Martial we have decent outlets to counter. Pogba is still settling in but he's is a match winner, Mata can cause problems and if fit Mikhitarian could be useful off the bench. When he get a run of games injury free will be a top player for us.

So it's a hard game to call, I just have a gut feeling it's too soon for us in Jose' reign and you'll beat us maybe 2-1.

I did see some posters declaring Jose is finished as a top manager. This is a manager who has won league titles and European titles with multiple clubs. A manager who won the premier league just 18 months ago. Klopp hasn't won a trophy in 3/ 4 years, so what makes Jose finished as a top manager? I think people who believe this are kidding themselves, and I expect him to take us back to the top in the near future. Anyway, hoping we cause an upset tomorrow. Good luck.

I love this post. First you pull a Jose and make proactive excuses; "you have a settled side". Which is laughable considering we made more changes in the summer than you and this is our managers first full season also. Maybe slightly more settled, but certainly not settled!

Then you cap your post off with a claim that a United win would be an upset. So you are admitting that we are now the better side, so much so you consider yourselves under dogs.

How the mighty have fallen ;)

I jest of course, a very humble and honest post mate. I don't think United or Jose are finished, but I don't think either will be successful until they part company. Mourinho needs to take a long holiday, and United need a Klopp/ Pochettino/ Pep. Somebody to come in with a long term commitment and plan to building an identity. You are suffering still from losing Fergie and as was seen when we lost Dalglish in the 90's, it can take years to recover from the hangover you get at the end of such an iconic era.

However that does not mean United will be a bad side in the mean time (Liverpool have won cup trebles and the Champions league in a so called baron spell) and as you predicted, I also believe it will be tighter than anticipated. I do believe you will score, but I think we will get 2 or 3. I will say 3-1 with Firmino, Coutinho and Ibrahimovic getting the goals.

Good post. What's your view on the ref from Manchester.

I think your correct on it being to soon for Jose, I think it will be 3-2 to lfc.

Thanks for the post stand.

A great post mate, good to see a decent post by a Man U supporter, your manager is no where near finished and is still if I'm honest one of the best managers in the world, to think people are saying 3 or 4 nil win I can't see happening, I think Mour would take a draw, I think we will win by a single goal like you said 2-1 or 1-0,well I hope so anyway mate as I'm the only one in my family that supports Liverpool, the rest are Man U supporters and I'll tell you this their worried about this game saying that it's come to early for them.

Your 3 point above us in the league, at home, in better form than us and the bookies have you as favourites for this game, I can't argue with that. Regardless of tomorrow's outcome I still believe wel be a force again in the near future once Jose settles down and finds his best 11.

Stand-United,
Tomorrows game could go in any direction, 6-0, 6-5, 5-6, but I do believe IF we come out of the traps we could destroy Utd before half time.
On Jose, I have predicted to my Utd buddies since Fergie left that he would come Utd but it will be like the coming of the anti-christ and he will destroy the club.
Next season we will be back on the perch. :D.

Liverpool has to beat UTD tomorrow. Absolutely no excuses.

Imo I think the result will rely heavily on United! What United is going to show up? The 4-1 thrashing of Leicester or the 1-1 at home to stoke. But also how United play, Jose seems to like his players sitting back organised in big games, but that could just be with United as he's still fairly unfirmliar with his best 11, players strengths, teams quality etc. As with Chelsea last season they came and had a good go at us in the first half. I don't wanna seem overly confident but I only see two outcomes; a close contested game where United show up and play a good game but we just edge the result, or where United sit back and invite us on and once that first goal goes in they'll slowly fall apart.

Everyone beats LCFC so you can discount that :)

The OP makes some valid points. Having watched the past couple of games at home where we either outplayed Utd and lost or we made mistakes and they took advantage and won without being that good, I don't believe in us giving them any type of hiding, except you call 2-1 a hiding which it isn't. Mou knows how to win or not lose games like this and frankly, I believe he will sit back and play on the counter as he is too paranoid to open up and play our type of game because he will lose as he's lost to Klopp almost every time. It is up to us in the end because we are at home and I don't believe we will hold them scoreless. However, if we keep a clean sheet, WE WILL WIN THE GAME. That, you can be sure of.

That's true polecat, but they did score 3 from corners which should worry us;)

There is almost too much confidence coming from our camp.

It's United.
It's Mourinho.
It's not going to be easy.

A balanced post, Stand United. Eagerly anticipating this game, because it is just too close. This is a game which we could dominate territorially and possession wise and still not get 3 points.
As for Mourinho, he's by no means finished, however I do wonder if he'll try and modify his style of management. I think that the 'Us and them' mentality he seems to try and create is not sustainable over a long period, and is one reason for the high turnover of posts he's had. I get the feeling he wants to be at Utd for the long haul.

I personally think Jose could be finished as a top level manager at least until he takes a step back and looks at the way he conducts himself. You can't compare the last 4-5 years between him and Klopp as Jose has always been at teams where he is expected to win the league and has always been given the finance to do so. Klopp is more of a builder and his teams take longer but have more longevity. Personally I believe that the players don't respond to Jose anymore as he's lost some confidence after Real Madrid and then Chelsea. Last season he almost became a joke figure with some of his ridiculous outbursts and the players turned on him. With the type of character he is I think that will take some coming back from.
