RE the Ox
I just cannot understand why we're interested in him, Klopp seems to get a semi over any versatile player, even if they're not very good.
Myfirst question would be where would he play? He's not going to displace Mane/ Coutinho on the wing and I wouldn't want Couts dropping deeper if it means Ox is out wide.
And if he's not to be played on the wing the only place I can see for him is midfield (and if Couts were to drop deeper, we add another CM, Keita for instance) it'd be a midfield of Keita Hendo/ Can Coutinho. leaving out Lallana and Wijnaldum who both offer us more than what the Ox could, I just can't get my head around it. Anyone have any ideas?

Why do we look at the previous record to judge, a young dynamic and versatile player. He has years on his side to develop into a better midfielder. We will be competing on all competitions next season, it is about squad depth, if klopp wants him, please back him and lay off his back.
ynwa!

Ox on his best day wouldn't lace the boots of Kieta ( The one we should sign by hook or crook ) Keita is a playmaker who could defend, win the ball back, terrific in breaking up play and his passing to pick the players ahead is stellar. People who has seen him play will agree. He is the best midfielder in that position. A midfield three of Can - Keita and Coutinho would be killer.
Ox is just another Hendo / Milner / Typical English running midfielders.

I remember when Ox first came on to the scene he was very promising. But most English young talent hasn't progressed under Wenger. I still think he has potential and could develop under Klopp. I think there's also a tendency to romanticise and attach a certain mystique to foreign players who are often not better than English ones. Klopp isn't perfect but one thing he seems to have done is get players to step up a level (with a few notable exceptions ) . So I'd personally take Ox over some of the random untried names that we've been throwing up. And most of the Arsenal fans are sad to see him go.

VVD deal has put us in a limbo. The club did not intend to add another defender. But now it looks like we will be adding him. The money was there to sign Kieta ( Klopp's first choice ) All we needed was to convince the club. Now it's totally up in the air. He will cost in the region of £40 mill ( He is definitely worth considering other CM's are valued upwards ) . Let's hope we sign him. Excellent player!

Ox will be a poor buy. He's not good enough to compete with what we have attacking wise and centrally? No way in hell. I'll wear a wijnakdum shirt all season if we don't buy ox.

Don't we have stadium debt? Use the twenty plus million on that or something useful. Pathetic how we waste money every transfer window on players we all know will make no difference.
Lower ticket prices if the club has that much income they can continue to throw it away.
The players that would have made a significant difference to the team are the very ones we've messed about with once again. Mendy was a priority and we messed him about. If we get Robertson, a left back Clyne ill pull my hair out.

What we have realised is that we lack pace in the squad. Salah very quick as well as Ox so could be that Klopp is trying to deal with the problem of unlocking stubborn defences.

To be honest, let's not sign a midfielder at all this summer. Keita would be brilliant but its kinda obvious now that getting a deal done will be next to impossible for him. Hope Klopp steers clear of OX. 20 million for an average squad player is ridiculous imo.

ox is nothing like henderson.

You're right when you say that Ox is nowhere near Henderson, because Henderson is a competent centre midfielder and Ox is not and never will be.

Guile more so than pace is the key missing ingerdient IMO.
I'm ok with signing the Ox. I think he wants to play for us, He's reasonably skillfull, works hard enough, is young enough to improve his game further, is versatile and for what we'll get won't cost a bomb. We could be playing a lot of games next season and want to compete strongly on 4 fronts. We need depth.
