Match review Ed001?

{Ed001's Note - I am just rewatching the game now before I write it mate. Didn't get a chance to watch it earlier as I had to go out. Can has just opened the scoring as I type!}

{Ed001's Note - 2-0 at half time. I am shocked at Brighton they obviously learnt nothing from yesterday and just let us score that quick second all over again. Hughton has no chance with them if the players are going to just repeat those exact same mistakes every time someone watches it!}

Let's hope we shut up shop in the second half Ed and don't do another Sevilla. I can't see Firmino scoring again mind as I've said in the past his weakness is he struggles for goals 🤦🏻‍♂.

{Ed001's Note - very true, but I am a bit worried as the ref has still given that penalty and we are at 3-1. I mean that is twice now he has given it and I still can't see why he did. If anything the foul was the other way round.}

I was watching it yesterday with the sound off, it's strange the sense of the game you get with no commentary.
When the pen was awarded though, I literally could not work out what for, thought it was because he thought it flicked off a hand at first. Wasn't until I watched match of the day until I realised it was for whatever hendo did!

Really, I thought he was on Coutinho's back for lack of movement? Henderson's entire first 30 minutes consisted of: Get ball. Look up for a forward pass. None available. Go sideways. A couple of times he managed a short diagonal pass to a wing back. So it looked to me like he was getting onto guys about being too static in front of him when we had the ball. Possibly the first time I've ever seen him do that.

And before anyone says "maybe Hendo couldn't see the pass cos he's useless and the source of all our problems lol", Can, Milner and even Coutinho all got the ball in similar areas to Hendo early in the game and either ended up walking it to a Brighton player and having to check out and go backwards, or knocking it over the top and giving it away.

i seen it too. continho was too static, loitering around the middle of the pitch. Well done to hendo. continhos passion seems to be wavering, must be still dreaming of barcelona. liverpool were on fire yesterday, everyone giving it 110% so it was just really apparent when continho wasnt trying and he needed the kick up the ass from hendo.

To be absolutely fair, Coutinho wasn't the only player on the pitch ahead of Henderson that couldn't be picked out and Brighton were basically playing a 901 formation in the first half so it was always going to be a tough ask to find space until we got the first goal.

The penalty was classic! There was nothing even remotely incriminating the whole world must have been confused. Oh well I say continuously the quality of refereeing is awful, mignolet gets away with chopping down Diouf, then Brighton get a penalty because, well i don’t really know why.
