My thoughts on player of the year. Usually there is one outstanding player who runs away with it but both Mo and KDB have both been brilliant as to sum it up yesterday Mo's fantastic goal and kdb's outrageous flick pass to Sterling. Shame they can't share the award.

Salah to me is the clear winner. That's not me being biased either. Salah has been consistently brilliant in scoring goals and creating chances, that is the complete footballer. De Bruyne is a wonderful footballer don't get me wrong but he's just not at Salah's level, very few are.

I don't think its close. Salah has been top drawer all season. I would be stunned if he doesn't win it.

I think early in the season Salah was getting the chances but not converting them. The votes close in February and I think personally with that De Bruyne will win it.

Both players have been world class this season and both would be worthy winners. As a LFC fan though I would obviously love and prefer Salah to win it.

It’s always baffled me how awards are given out and voted on before the season actually finishes! If the deadline to vote was in February as you say then surely that’s ‘player of the first half of the season’.

Remember at the start of the season when he was creating tonnes but only scoring one! We said with a little confidence he will be banging them in! Can't really believe how good he has been.

The votes doesn't close in February! Just a week or 10 days ago Simpson the Leicester RB posted his pick for team of the season etc. Kevin de Bruyne shared him picking Salah before the Champions league first leg at Anfield, that he had just sent his choices in before the interview. If both just had done their picks and waited 2 months to share them then fair enough but i didn't find anywhere on PFA's own site that the voting closes in feb. which would be ridiculous.

Jonesred how is it poss that the votes close in Feb when the 6 players up for it was only revealed at weekend mate? Are u not getting it mixed up and the votes close in Feb and then the short list is made? as that would make more sense that the short list of 6 is now made and votes carry on till end of season now mate.
I don't know myself so am not saying you are wrong just strange if voting is already closed yet the shortlist of 6 players has just been revealed.

Quite a few people in the media have already said it closed in February. McManaman also said it last night after the game on BT. But I’ve heard quite a few say it also.

For me, KDB should win it. Admittedly, Salah has been fantastic and broken some records along the way. But KDB this season has been sensational and unplayable almost every game.
He's also the best player in the team that won the league title. Played at a consistently high level throughout the season.
To me, he wins this hands down.

The voting only took place in the week between the champions league quarters, I believe.
