Graeme Kelly saying Butland will 'more than likely sign for liverpool' this summer. He's proved to be a more believable source over the past couple of years but I leave it up to everyone else to decide whether he's accurate or not.

1.) 23 Apr 2018 17:24:05
Yeah he is pretty spot on alright. Called Robertson months before anyone even mentioned him and ox months before also. I was critical of karius and have to say he is proving me wrong since he came back in. This deal makes no sense to me. If we want to replace karius it needs to be oblak Allison or someone of that ilk. Butland will cost 30+ million because he is British regardless what division he is in. Klopp has done a fantastic job so if that's who he wants that's who he gets what do I know.

2.) 23 Apr 2018 17:46:23
Well if Stoke get relegated maybe he won't be that expensive if he has a release clause in his contract (just assuming) . Stoke has racked up a huge wage bill over the last couple do years with signing big players. I am sure if they go under they will have a hard time paying those wages.

Mignolet will want to leave and compete else where for a starter spot and I am sure Danny Ward does not want to be second fiddle. Going from Stoke to Liverpool will be a huge jump for Butland if he wants to be on a Champions League team. The guy has not set the PL or England National Side a blaze with his goalkeeping heroics. I can see how this deal can go through, as did Begovic when he moved to Chelsea.

3.) 23 Apr 2018 19:08:11
I would be truly disappointed with the mediocrity of Butland unless he was intended to fit in as a second keeper with Karius resuming first choice and Migs to depart. If we are looking for a first choice keeper than mediocrity isn’t good enough for the way LFC are progressing in Europe. Although I would add that Robertson is mediocre but his work rate and ethic are fantastic.

{Ed025's Note - i think robbo is better than mediocre myself ben..

4.) 23 Apr 2018 19:37:41
I’m not sure this would be a good move. I will always support a player wearing LFC red but I don’t see him as any better than Karius, who has come on leaps and bounds. Yes he still has some issues, but Butland is no better IMO. Even if he just comes in as competition that hardly sends a good message to Karius does it and Butland would want to be No. 1.No I think get some older experienced hands happy to be a number 2 but still ensure Karius is on his toes. Be interested to hear the eds thoughts on Butland v Karius.

5.) 23 Apr 2018 19:43:42
Robertson mediocre?! Even the most bitter utd fans i know have admitted they'd live Robertson and he's been an absolute bargain. Fans need to trust klopp and the lads making the transfers. I have been on here and defended Robertson, ox, salah and van dijk when we were buying them. And they all worked out brilliantly. If we sign Butland we need to get behind him. He's a young gk who had massive potential and has struggled at times in a terrible team. sound familiar?

6.) 23 Apr 2018 19:54:09
UncleBens you lost me at 'Robertson is mediocre'. I suspect you wouldn't be saying that if he was French or Italian with tattoos and a flashy haircut.

7.) 23 Apr 2018 20:26:25
Robertson being mediocre is obviously a harsh statement. However, let's not get all caught up in the better keepers out there. When Karius first came everyone was excited because of the reputation he came with as the second best keeper in the Bundesliga. He struggled, but he is getting better why not let him build on it instead of giving him insecurities. In all honesty I never heard much about Allisson until this year, I am sure this is not his first year at Roma either.

We always try to sell talent coming to be apart of something being built, we as supporters should show the same loyalty to players who have gotten us to where we are now. Karius is definitely a big part of that now, no need to abandon him.

8.) 23 Apr 2018 21:16:03
I’m glad my comments have sparked a fair debate over Robertson. It’s really good to hear a list of varied opinions, including the Ed’s too. That’s what makes this sight so great to read everyday.
I do stand by my opinion of Robertson and it certainly has nothing to do with him being an underdog nor where he is from. We purchased him knowing he would fight to prove himself and that is his work ethic. That’s what I find so brilliant about him and I do genuinely believe he is mediocre.

9.) 23 Apr 2018 21:55:07
Not an improvement on Karius so unlikely.

10.) 23 Apr 2018 22:26:45
Butland is no improvement in what we have. The next step from karius would be a world class keeper an oblak type, right now I’d keep karius and save the money unless we are going for a top class keeper. Butland is overrated.

11.) 24 Apr 2018 04:34:02
Reina is available on free.

12.) 24 Apr 2018 10:56:42
Harry - Alisson joined Roma in July as understudy to Szczesny. Became first choice last year and has come on leaps and bounds. Everything i've hear is that he is extremely good.
However I agree with you that Karius is doing a great job. he's still prone to making the odd mistake but hopefully he will continue to work hard on improving his game and make the position his own for years to come.
Regarding Robbo - I like him. he's not flashy but he works hard and seems willing to learn. What more can you ask for?

13.) 24 Apr 2018 14:27:21
I would keep Karius, he is still learning, and will become a great goalkeeper, he needs to learn when to come out of his goal tho, the 2nd V west brom, he should only have come off his line by a yard or so to narrow the angle, then its an easy save,
like I said, keep Karius, but bring in a left back, moreno has to go, also another centre back and let Matip go,
a deep midfielder to replace Can,
I would use what players we have and who are coming back from loan to cover the front three .

14.) 24 Apr 2018 15:10:52
😂LMAO. Lost me a mediocre uncle ben.

I would love to hear what part of Robertson game you think is mediocre? His tackling? Crosses? Attitude? Reading of the game? Speed?

Of just because our club spotted somthing in player playing for a mediocre team (Hull) he is now desitened to be classed as mediocre for the rest of his career?

In my opinion you should base your judgement on performance and there is no way, in my opinion, that anyone can say he has had anything near a mediocre performance this year and even beyond.

15.) 24 Apr 2018 21:14:42
Anybody want to put their money on Allisson Becker? Could have just been a bad day at the office for the lad.

16.) 25 Apr 2018 03:23:19
Not much he could do about those goals and he saved a fair few that could have made it worse. Roma management want to lock him down to a big contract so I sincerely doubt he moves to England. Of course Roma do love a dollar and he'd be a good candidate for a massive fee but they've got a damn good team there and would had to let an amazing keeper go.

{Ed0333's Note - I didn’t think he made any world class or eyebrow raising saves last night. I’m not being disparaging because I’m sure he’s an excellent keeper I just haven’t seen enough of him to make a judgement. I can only comment on what’s put in front of me.

24 Feb 2018 21:05:30
According to Paul Joyce we want Jorginho from Napoli in the summer. Would be some deal if we can get him in.

1.) 24 Feb 2018 21:55:14
Now we’re talking! Hope so.

2.) 24 Feb 2018 22:10:57
With him being so popular we’d probably have to steal him to get him😏.

3.) 24 Feb 2018 22:02:41
Nah. Just another name not mentioned by the eds. Not having it.

4.) 25 Feb 2018 00:24:14

5.) 25 Feb 2018 01:57:27
Seriously. What player in world football wouldn’t look at what Liverpool are doing right now and not want to play for them if they come knocking? The only things to hold them back are money. The trophies will come. Believe.

6.) 25 Feb 2018 03:04:07
Perfect midfielder for our system. We get a proper No.6 and allows Hendo to move into his preferred position and as a utility player.

7.) 25 Feb 2018 05:44:23
Jorginho lob balls to the Fab 3 will be nightmare for any team. Imagine having to mark Salah, Firmino and Mane all at once with lob balls falling from all sorts of place. This guy can defend and turn it to lightning pace counter. To me we must get him at all cost!

8.) 25 Feb 2018 14:26:02
Jorginho (if true) would be a spectacular addition. The Xabi Alonso type of player to sit alongside Keita and Hendo/ Wijnaldum (choose one) .

9.) 25 Feb 2018 15:26:25
Kwkhong, then add into the equation that if teams drop deep to stop the runs in behind we will have Naby to pick the ball up in the spaces. Fingers crossed we really push on in the next window and get some top top talent.

24 Jan 2018 12:29:30
Ed002, is there going to be a sharkopod going up soon? Not thinking of just Liverpool but teams like Arsenal and Spurs. Always interested I listen to them even when it's not to do with Liverpool.

{Ed002's Note - For a few other clubs hopefully.

1.) 24 Jan 2018 13:19:14
Okay I look forward to hearing them mate.

06 Jan 2018 12:15:35
Ed001, are you able to throw any names into the ring about who you've heard we're interested in? We've heard from ed002 but it'd be interesting to hear what your contacts are telling you about any additional targets that we have.
Thanks mate.

{Ed001's Note - right now I have nothing to add to what Ed002 has said, but I am still trying to chase up people after having had a couple of weeks off. There is the possibility of Keita, who wants to sort out a deal to come now, if not we are considering Ceballos or another central mid and a replacement for Coutinho. As far as I can find out, that is all for January, unless someone suddenly becomes available Klopp wants.}

1.) 06 Jan 2018 12:39:43
Is Goretzka completly off the table, if it was ever there? Would love to see Keita join in january, but wouldn't mind Goretzka or Ceballos at all. As for Coutinhos replacement if you will, would that stand between Mahrez or Lemar, or do Liverpool have got other subjects up their sleeve?

{Ed001's Note - Goretzka was the other central mid I was referring to, I just couldn't think of his name! I do not know of any interest in Mahrez but there is interest in Lemar.}

2.) 06 Jan 2018 13:12:24
Cudnt we give Leipzig grujic on loan or some other players on fringes in exchange for keita now great experience for him, also seeing as emre can leaving do u think we will replace him like for like as in tall powerful enforcer I like that type of player in our midfield and I am sure we would feel the hit of not having them attributes in central midfield areas, at one stage I thought grujic might b one answer but he doesn't seem to have adapted or progressed I hope he does.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

3.) 06 Jan 2018 13:32:56
now that ed01 and ed02. have given all the info we need can we please stop throwing random names and questions of when it will happen its taking too long to sift through all the nonsense that people are posting and no doubt the ed's are just fed up with it all.

4.) 06 Jan 2018 14:42:13
It's a rumours site.

I appreciate the frustration but some of us don't visit every day and the search engine isn't consistent.

5.) 06 Jan 2018 15:45:53
You don't visit everyday!? Wow! 😂.

6.) 06 Jan 2018 16:32:31
Giantkey you should be visiting hourly let alone daily!

7.) 06 Jan 2018 17:04:26
Thanks ed, that's great mate!

{Ed001's Note - glad to help.}

8.) 07 Jan 2018 17:04:43
To be fair lads when VVD was flirting with us over the summer I spammed the refresh key like nobody's business.

I'm just jealous I can't be on here all the time to keep up to date 😂.

02 Jun 2017 20:20:06
Lyon and Monaco are the latest clubs linked with Origi. Someone mentioned yesterday that Lazio are interested too. Ed is any of this true?
Also regarding Mendy, are we willing to change our stance or is it looking increasingly unlikely?

{Ed025's Note - i have heard nothing on origi daredman, and city look in the box seat with mendy at the moment but its by no means a done deal yet mate..

1.) 02 Jun 2017 21:25:22
Cheers ed, I know you must be sick and tired of answering about mendy now. He is the left back we need imo.

{Ed025's Note - no problem mate..

2.) 03 Jun 2017 10:19:19
It seems a shame for us to miss out on Mendy if what Macca says is true and he did want to join us.

As annoying as it is we can't afford to match the wages City can offer and we have to live within our means.

Could we possibly have an awards style thing from the eds where they all pick their player of the year, young player of the year, breakthrough player, signing of the season etc.? I'd certainly be interested in seeing their picks.
Also ed001, i would to get your opinion on the season and whether you think we are overachieving or at the right level. Perhaps added depth should be the aim over the next few windows?
Thanks in advance!

{Ed001's Note - do you mean across the Prem or Europe or what?

We achieve what we deserve surely?}

1.) 16 Apr 2018 18:19:47
I'd like that actually. Premier League only would be best and then the Eds could vote for each of the following categories;

1. Manager of the year
2. Player of the year
3. Young player of the year
4. Most improved player of the year
5. Goal of the season
6. And then team of the season XI

Could maybe just do yourself Ed001, plus the Eds in the weekly prediction competition? Would be a great read.

{Ed001's Note - I will ask them.}

2.) 16 Apr 2018 18:51:07
Premier league is what I meant sorry.
I really respect the eds' viewpoints and I'm sure many others do too so would love to hear what you all think.

{Ed001's Note - I have asked them, I will post it up when they have all given their answers.}

3.) 16 Apr 2018 19:00:52
I’m going to weigh in with best looking Liverpool team ever, surely this one is it! Look at the Ox with his little freckles and curly hair. Not to mention Karius and his beautiful Instagram efforts. Can’s pout gets a shout, but seeing as he is on his way out, an honourable mention goes to Bobby’s teeth and Salah’s hair.
What do you guys think? 😁.

4.) 16 Apr 2018 19:27:37
Kate, I always thought Lovren was the best looking player in the team. Tall, dark, handsome and rugged.

But then I'm a man so I don't know what women want. If I did, I'd bottle it a sell it.

{Ed002's Note - But you seem to know what men want.}

5.) 16 Apr 2018 19:51:04
Thank you very much ed!

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

6.) 16 Apr 2018 20:01:59
No mention of John Flannegan in the best looking team?

7.) 16 Apr 2018 20:05:10
I see what you’re saying but for me, he’s a bit too much like a wet weekend (and not in a good way) . Remember the pre-season video when they were diving into the freezing river? Raggy is your Adonis, CB wise. 😀.

8.) 16 Apr 2018 20:15:18
No mention of Flanno, for obvious reasons. 🤝

Only the handsome need apply. Like Hendo. Strapping. Horse like.

9.) 17 Apr 2018 00:18:29
This is getting weird.

10.) 17 Apr 2018 00:56:27
"getting", SGRed?!

We passed "getting" at "Can's pout"

13 Apr 2018 21:34:37
Could you give your opinion on Klopp's Liverpool tenure so far? Do you think the club is moving in the right direction behind the scenes also ed?
I'd be interested to hear a balanced view. You haven't held back in your criticisms of Klopp in the past so I know you won't go easy on him.

{Ed002's Note - Well he has got the side playing well at the moment and he and the owners approach has changed and they are clearly intending to try and buy success. They have a great opportunity in the Champions League this year and as long as he doesn't try and change too much in the summer then going forward the club should be well placed next season to consolidate their position in the top four. As for off-field I previously provided a list of things they could do better.

This was a simple six point plan to get the entire club back on a good footing that I proposed a while back:

1. Corporate Business: Liverpool have done well financially out of the sponsorship and partnership agreements but in some cases have sold their soul to the devil and in others the deal is not as good as it could be for a club of the profile of Liverpool. Look to move away from Standard Chartered and bring in a higher profile and better paying sponsor as soon as is practical. The deal with New Balance/Warrior was a major mistake and the club need to exit it as soon as possible – sadly the boat to get a deal with Adidas after Chelsea dumped them has sailed. Any deals with organisations that are socially questionable (e.g. Bet Victor), socially bankrupt or have caused the club embarrassment (e.g. Dunkin’ Donuts), nonsense (Nivea and the club’s official coconut water supplier TCC), are from a country with controversial human rights (flag carrier Malaysian Airlines – who replaced just as bad Indonesia’s Garuda) should be cancelled or run down as soon as possible. Being on morally better ground will make a club with Liverpool’s profile to get better profile sponsors.

Status: Still not good but I hear there is a new Pencil Sharperner partner coming on board. Club need to be smarter still.

2. Football Business: Liverpool has revamped in the past three years from top to bottom but yet Klopp is still getting an easy ride and the transfer windows are far from successful. Two things to do (a) get a decent Director of Football in (not taking the advice of anyone who suggests Damien Comolli would be a good idea), and (b) explain to Klopp that his inability to adapt is a large part of the problem as to why Liverpool are still inconsistent.

Status: Michael Edwards appointed - still not ideal in my view. I think a real DoF with knowledge of the game, the market, the contacts etc. would do a lot more good.

3. Fan Considerations: Establish a point of liaison with fan representatives (Ed001 perhaps and the sad fat guy who runs the other site - I don't recall his name) but do not involve the Spirit of Shankly in any way – a bunch of morons in a pub who want the club handed over to them and are planning already to give the owners a hard time starting again this summer need to be brushed aside. If they are interested in buying the club they need to be told to have their bankers call when they have a $1B Banker’s Draft in hand and the club will be sold to them. If they want to act responsibly and represent supporters they need to lose the aggressive and controntational approach.

Status: The club has addressed this and appointed someone. Unclear to me how it is going and would appreciate feedback from someone closer to the situation. Maybe Waro knows.

4. Wrest Power Back from the Players: Players at high profile teams (in particular in the Premier League and a few other individual players dotted around Europe) are not fully focussed on doing what they are employed to do, and in many cases are paid well to do. I would get someone in (a really knowledgeable football guy who can advise the club) and have them speak to each of the players to really understand where their focus is and where they want to be. I would also have a suitable advisor go right through all of the coaching staff and look at the methods of coaching. I would then get the players together and tell them that the club will be making addendums to their contracts requiring such things as responsible behaviour, not wearing flimsy designer football boots that offer little protection, wearing black boots only in games, responsible usage of social media, banning all at club visits by hairdressers and car salesmen, banning the use of all hair care products etc.. The players need to be controlled in any interviews and interviews, and any endorsements, should all be arranged through the club. Any players to which the club is making payments to third parties for such nonsense as image rights need to be moved on or the contracts amended at no penalty to the club. Then they need to be asked if they buy in to the club and these changes – if they don’t their agents can be told that the club is happy for them to find new employers for their charges.

Status: Nothing has been done so far and Liverpool has had a number of unsavoury off field issues over the past year or so. Keita has proven himself to be a real jerk on and off field and that needs resolving. The significant fine for providing fake paperwork has attracted attention well beyond the German courts. The club needs to fix this..

5. Reserves and Loans: Firstly get some structure and planning for a career path and look to establish relationships with a couple of sides such that the loan system can work for the club. The liaison structure is critical as whilst managers may occasionally see players it is generally something undertaken by others dedicated to the task. As an example, each loan player from Chelsea has a liaison officer assigned (some are ex-players) who regularly see them, deal with any issues and report progress back to the club. For instance there was a problem with a couple of players in the Netherlands and that resulted in the club having them get involved with spending some time with the local community (schools and charities). Chelsea has also helped clubs they have and are building relationships with - this may include providing training facilities, loaning coaching staff, having ex-players works with them in some capacity etc.. They have a structure in the Netherlands and Belgium in addition to relationships with South American and old Eastern Bloc countries. They are currently working a deal with a Champions League side as well. Similarly in Italy I know that the clubs with a significant number of players on loan have regular contact and bring them back as a group for training on a couple of occasions mid-season. I am sure there will be someone at Liverpool keeping contact with the younger players on loan where there are legal responsibilities as some are still technically children but others on loan from Liverpool reported the occasional text message only – simply not good enough. Many clubs in Spain and Portugal have built relationships with other sides and it helps with brining in players from South America.

Status: The club has started to understand the potential benefits and is working on getting a structure in place - it will take time but the understanding is there now. Well done.

6. On Field: Whilst the fans want significant changes every year the club needs to get in to the position of making small changes to improve the team each season, not simply discarding the work done and starting again. It has not worked with the recent managers at the club and Damien Comolli was a massive mistake (which I did explain here the day he joined). Right now the side is not too far away but like other managers it is a task Klopp struggles with – so the club need a good footballing guy as Director of Football to help out. Financially the club need to be self-sufficient or making a profit – particularly given the additional media income. Give Klopp the marquee buy of Julian Brandt this summer and then fix the problem areas though sales.

Status: Financially the club is better placed, on field the side is playing well and perhaps less inconsistent - but very much moving in the right direction.

So things are pretty good right now.}

1.) 14 Apr 2018 00:00:59
Very detailed and informative feedback ED002. Brilliant read, thank you very much for sharing.

2.) 14 Apr 2018 00:04:50
Great post.

Out of curiosity when do the current deals with Standard Chartered and New Balance end?

{Ed002's Note - (a) June 2019 (b) many years time).}

3.) 14 Apr 2018 00:08:23
Wow what a reply. Thanks for such a detailed informative post.

4.) 14 Apr 2018 00:09:32
Bloody good read that 002 thank you very much

i do think klopp is learning to adapt his tactics but its a work in progress example is the professional performances as of late but think once middfield is strenghtened we need some better depth in the squad as we look thin on quality and the young lads don't get the game time to develop.

5.) 14 Apr 2018 00:13:08
Amazing Ed, thank you. I agree with you about Ed001, but I also think you have a lot to offer as well. I wish you could be involved with Liverpool, I think you'd do a fantastic job helping the club.

6.) 14 Apr 2018 00:16:34
Thanks for the reply.

7.) 14 Apr 2018 00:18:37
Cheers Ed for your insight.

Definitely some good ideas in there and I like your thinking particularly around sponsorship deals and on field performance.

I do think some of your views on player contracts might be idealistic and unfeasable but I don’t disagree with the sentiment.

{Ed002's Note - Actually most clubs address that whereas Liverpool have had a number of such issues including a massive one involving a player still at the club.}

8.) 14 Apr 2018 00:22:35
Maybe he already is stone. Makes me wonder at times lol.

9.) 14 Apr 2018 02:59:33
I don't think klopp adapting is a problem anymore and I think his main issue has always been him not trying to buy success. he's tried to make it work with the players he inherited and was too stubborn to admit the squad was just sh***e for his system. Instead of adapting he chose to stick to his guns and slowly upgrade each transfer window. Its taken him this long to finally develop a team with some consistency. My only major concern since january has been the right back postion but it looks like arnold is finally stepping up to the plate and klopp was right to have faith in him. Everything now seems to be falling into place. We have a great team that we can further strengthen in the summer.

10.) 14 Apr 2018 03:15:22
It is a good read but I don't know why Ed002 is so critical of SoS.
It may have a left wing ideal, but so did the man it is named after, and so have many people of the city and of the club's supporters.
The game belongs to the people, it's the national game after all, and anything that brings supporters and the club together can only be a good thing?

Supporter ownership has to be an ultimate aim, giving the people a true say in their clubs.
Private ownership has brought us stadium disasters, bankruptcy, spiralling admission costs and is taking the game away from the very people it was meant to serve.
Public ownership, run by the people, for the people.

{Ed001's Note - it has NO LEFT WING ideal, SoS is quite the opposite and should not bear the great man's name. It is completely opposed to what he believed in. It is full of racist bigots whose sole opposition to the owners is based on where they are from. That is the issue. They are an embarrassment.}

11.) 14 Apr 2018 06:39:30
100 percent agree eds. Sos are a total embarrassment to all. Why the club has any interaction with them I'll never know.

{Ed001's Note - because they shout so loud. I mean they are constantly shoving themselves forward pretending to represent the views of the vast majority of Liverpool fans. They absolutely do not represent me in anyway shape or form.}

12.) 14 Apr 2018 07:12:51
There was no way Klopp would have been able to achieve success without significant funds. Since the start of the Premier League era pretty much all of the clubs have bought their success, United, Arsenal, Chelsea. Blackburn, City.

Football sold itself to the devil - The birth of the PL.

13.) 14 Apr 2018 03:12:29
I wouldn't think that LFC are still in for Julian Brandt. I'd love to see him coming in. Thanks ED2!

14.) 14 Apr 2018 08:34:39
Thank you very much ed!

15.) 14 Apr 2018 09:26:24
Ed02 every day is a school day and that was a brilliant read. I love how you have dropped a teaser in at the end wth the Brandt line. I feel like I have been seduced, teased and left wanting more.

This was an update on the original plan I wrote a year ago. Brandt won't be moving to Liverpool.}

16.) 14 Apr 2018 09:39:03

Are Liverpool still looking at bringing Brandt in this summer do you know?

{Ed002's Note - No, he will not be joining Liverpool.}

Great detailed response. I particularly agree with how top clubs should be dealing with their top stars and preventing all rubbish that comes with player power.
Also completely agree with how the youngsters out on loan should be looked after, both for their well being and career advancement.

awesome ed2, from memory your original 6 point plan was in response to a question I asked some time last year, so awesome to read your updates on that and how you think it is getting on.

I certainly agree with taking small steps with the aim to develop a club that can sustain is competitiveness. I think we are definitely heading in that direction under FSG and Klopp.
Whenever FSG sell they will be passing on a club in far better position than when they purchased it. It galls me to see that there are people who still don't see or appreciate that.

regards partnerships with compaines who have questionable morale standard, I wonder if simply it is about getting "good" people internally to identify and cut those deals? I can see we've got ourselves in trouble with dodgy transfer dealings, made poor negotiations in terms of sales and then there's sponsorship deals you've mentioned. To me that's one too many instances that suggests their may a systemic or cultural issue in the club. Simply put, perhaps the people in charge of these types of activities and deals are questionable themselves? ed2, is that conclusion a bit of a stretcH?

{Ed002's Note - These are the original points and the status is a really brief update. I would say that generally the club is doing the right thing or trying to do the right thing in most of these areas.

From a Corporate business perspective they really do need to try and get better and clean the situation up a bit and, in response to your conclusion, they need some guidelines in place and to follow them regarding who they get in to bed with.

Football business is another area the club still needs to improve. Since I wrote this originally, there were the tapping up/illegal approach issues surrounding VvD and the disaster with the kiddie from Stoke that led to the transfer ban - perhaps the lesson has now been learned - we will see. And keep in mind debt is growing again.

They have seemingly addressed the fan communication issue, but I have had no detailed feedback. They need to fix the contract issues going forward - they have been caned financially and should have learned the lesson. Attempts to get permission to talk with Keita about his issues have been rejected by RBL so that still needs to be done.

Certainly they have got the point about the youngsters on loan and are trying to get a framework inplace. It will take time and they need to build relationships with other sides - to do that there is unfortunately a level of arrogance that needs to go, but they will get there eventually.}

Thanks edd 2 some great points there. let's hope the club can follow a few of these points to make us a better club.

{Ed002's Note - Interestingly they have picked up and dealt with a couple already.}

20.) 14 Apr 2018 12:16:41
Cheers ed2, heartening to hear the club are taking steps in right direction in most areas. Hopefully for the club they can win some titles to help win over sections of fans! But truthfully I admire how fsg have continued forward with their plans, made adjustments along the way. Sure they can do better, couldn't we all!?

Hi Ed001, what's the plan with Pedro Chirivella? Is he seen as good enough? I remember a few years ago, you said he was highly rated in the academy. He seems to be getting regular gametime this season and is putting in some strong performances for his team.

{Ed001's Note - he is to be assessed in the summer and a decision made.}

1.) 19 Mar 2018 14:51:59
Thanks ed, I don't suppose you've seen any of him for a while?

2.) 19 Mar 2018 19:04:39
you need to check out Carra's loan watch. He updates all loan players every week.

3.) 19 Mar 2018 20:20:56
I see his loan updates but i wanted ed's opinion on the lad.

U19s are in action away against Man City in the Youth Champions League. 1pm kick off today and it's on bt sport 2 so it shouldn't be too difficult to watch if you're about. Huge game for the youngsters.

Good shout 👍.

2.) 14 Mar 2018 13:38:19
Nice touch by miller to leave his man behind, looks promising.

3.) 14 Mar 2018 14:05:12
1-1 half time. Not many chances but pretty tense and I feel this game could go either way.
Curtis Jones scored for us and a deflected free kick equalised for them. Adekanye looking good, as to is Jones and Millar. Adam Lewis having a tough time with their right winger.

Hey ed002,
About this time last year you said that Klopp briefed certain members of the media about transfer targets etc. You said yourself this was a bad move and I agree 100%, but does Klopp see it as a bad move and will he be doing it again this season do you think?
The reason I ask is because Paul Joyce, one of those that was briefed last year, came out with a bit of transfer news last night and mentioned a couple of names even.
Thanks in advance!

{Ed002's Note - It backfired on him and I would think that the club would be livid if he did it again.)

1.) 25 Feb 2018 16:41:10
Thanks for the response ed.

2.) 25 Feb 2018 16:51:02
its February the summer is way off, the only thing klopp needs to be doing atm is making sure Liverpool finish in the top 4, we need to learn from our past mistakes, not go on repeating them.

3.) 25 Feb 2018 17:41:20
Klopp has learnt. He has kept the squad fitness levels much higher that they were last season.

4.) 25 Feb 2018 18:52:54
Don't See him going to Blackpool anytime soon!

5.) 25 Feb 2018 21:38:27
He'd better not be doing that again.

What's the plan with Wilson? Another loan?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any plan at this time. I appreciate reports are good and he is doing well but it is hard to see how he would fit in to the first team plans for next season given he has zero relevant experience and has been playing in the Championship and PL2.}

Who else from the Leipzig side would you take ed? For me, Werner, and Upamecamo and maybe even Demme. They have a very good young squad there.

{Ed001's Note - and Forsberg.}

Do any clubs have Klopp in their plans for the future like Bayern did at one stage?

{Ed002's Note - Clubs rarely plan like that.}

What have you made of his performances at Cardiff ed? At while we're at it, what have you made of Keita lately? Seems to have upped his game to his levels of last season.

{Ed001's Note - I have only seen Grujic twice at Cardiff and he did not impress me at all. Same as his Liverpool performances, lots of running around but no thought. Keita is a top class player, just needs to act right off the pitch, all very well turning up early for training etc, but no need to be a dick over money. That will not wash in Liverpool if he starts dumping tips on the floor or similar. He will soon find himself regretting it.}

Thank you ed, really enjoyed that and thanks for adding a few extra categories to my original suggestion!

{Ed001's Note - apologies for not crediting you in the article for the original idea, I couldn't remember for the life of me who had requested it. I try and put the name next to the entry on the to do list when I get sent in ideas now, but I never added yours to the to do list as I started on it straight away by asking the editors to give their choices.}
