Been watching the celebrations on yputube. Hendo consoling kane shows what a good man JH is. His tears, in klopps arms nearly had me going.

Isnt it funny how many times glenn hoddle (whom i loved as a player and coach) says these words in commentary, international or club; "We lost but we were the better team" no glenn, if ypu were the better team ypu would be lifting the trophy. I can understand that statement when ypure talking about playing a lesser team but spurs were playing us, one of the worlds best. definitely top 3 team in the world atm.

I don't know about anybody else but I've watched the celebrations so many times, multiple times daily so far including the ones in the dressing room, I had it on again early on this morning lol.

I have utmost respect for Glenn Hoddle but my god, I can imagine he is still chuntering away to himself about how they were the better team and that it was never a penalty!

1st half, they had more possesion but I can't remember any guilt edge chances. We were more aggressive for our goal, winning a few headers in the build up and Henderson playing Mane in behind. I thought they defended the situation poorly.

Yes 2nd half the had a few shots on goal but that's why you have a goalkeeper right? And they were more pot shots as apposed to clear cut chances. We had our chance and took it, they didn't deal with our corner and then bang. Had this been a Mourihno team, they would have said that we done a job on Spurs.

I am taking nothing away from them, they played well but, maybe through tinted glasses, I thought we were just more professional on the day and deserved the victory.

I was chatting to a Spurs fan briefly after the game and he claimed they were the better side.

I explained to him that I thought Liverpool were the better team in both boxes. Spurs were better everywhere else on the pitch on the night but that doesn't matter if you create nothing and make 2 sloppy mistakes.

He had no answer. You need concentration and composure to win major trophies. Spurs had neither. Liverpool had both. A few neat triangles in the centre circle looks great but doesn't win games.

I watched a replay of the game and honestly could not see how Spurs were the better team. Aside from Gini our midfield was winning all of their duels. Our forwards were deciding to press intermittently and when did press, they were forcing Spurs to go long or turn over possession. Spurs were hardly able to string 3 passes together 40 yards of our goal. Our defence was organised, our midfield kept its shape and the forwards were tracking back to quash all danger.

Spurs weren't good enough to cause us any real worries.

The only problem we had was that there were far to many failed attempts at long balls down the channels which resulted in handing over possession. And when we did break forward, we were being cautious and getting outnumbered in the attacking 3rd.

I thought it was a masterclass from Klopp that he took the best pressing team and prepared them to play in a completely different style and manage to do it so imperiously.

I'm 100% sure if Sissoko hadn't hand balled we would have scored in the first half anyway.

Spurs had the majority of possession. We scored more goals. Give them a polite round of applause and a Blue Peter badge.

It’s all subjective mind. If there was no early goal, I’m sure we would have had more ball and not been as reserved. You say to a team, right don’t concede for 88 mins and you win the CL, you’re not going to be playing expansive hell for leather football are you?

Spurs had to come out and play, and didn’t do it well enough. Having the ball doesn’t make you the better team.

typically the losing team will hold onto anything if they weren't obviously played off the park. I mean, how many games have we lost where we were the better team . . . !?

It's a useless argument. The rules of the game say the higher scoring team wins. Therefore, by definition, they are better, because winning is the whole objective. If you want to put aesthetics, possesion %, style and God knows what else, into it then it becomes completely subjective. And you can argue and debate endlessly for the next few centuries.

None of it matters.

We won 2 0. And the best team won. Yes spurs had a lot of possession. But what did it get them? A runners up medal (which btw is something to be proud of. Most players never get anywhere near the champions league and the nou camp, let alone pay for the trophy)

I bet spurs fams haven't been dancing to the shops this last few days!
