So the game yesterday. Was slating Coutinho all game and he ended up scoring haha. A few points:

-Our defence was only good because we had Hendo and Milner in front of them most of the game. So let's wait and see.

-Put Milner out wide instead of Llallana, don't care where he wants to play. He's better out side.

-Benteke, decent but isolated. Couldn't win the second ball.

-Can changed the game

Happy with the win obviously. But if we keep playing like that we aren't going to get Top 4. Simple as.

I am not sure Milner would agree that role after being promised a central role.

2.) 10 Aug 2015 11:57:17
And even if he does play better out wide, he's not our best option out there.

United struggled with Tottenham and got the 3 points. Would you say they aren't going to make the top 4 playing like that? Yes we must improve but I will take that result all day all week all month and all season. Players are returning to fitness. Can changed the game without making that many touches. Nothing was going well for Coutinho and he scored the goal of the season so far. Our solidarity at the back was much improved and I was impressed with Clynes debut. We must get Benteke more involved but there are a lot of positives to take from that game. Most of the favorites for the league struggled this weekend.

who's better? Lallana…. I'd agree with you if we got Adama Traore or another wide player but for me its logical to use to there with Firmino in CAM and Ibe on the other wing.

Also Henderson needs to pull the finger out. Every start of a new season he reverts back to his old negative playing ways of passing sideways/ back, running around telling players to pass back to the CB who credit to them didn't linger on the ball. Point being he only wants to play positive when players around him play positive. Very much unlike a captain should

and no I'm not questioning his captaincy i just don't get way he can't have confidence in his own ability early on in the season. I hope he doesn't wait until Dec to start playing like the player he should the later half of last season.

I understand the hate for Benteke. But why are you guys suggesting we should sign Gomez or Llorente instead? Benteke is better.

Benteke is a beast. I would be slightly scared if United, Chelsea or Spurs sign him so if we get him I would be happy.

So was Andy Carroll when he was playing for Newcastle. Granted that Benteke has had more PL experience, there are similarities in both transfers, Beastly for their previous teams, but not for us.

Not at the price villa want garcia. Have a strong feeling this will be a terrible signing

Personally, I don't think Gomez, Llorente, Rondon, Lambert, Balotelli, Carroll, Benteke or any other big number 9 suits the style we play. However, having said that, if I were to choose one of the above it would be Benteke, because he has shown that he can make runs in behind and does have pace, power and an eye for goal. Who knows? He'll either fit in or he'll flop like the strikers we've signed in the past. Lacazette or a similar striker would have been worth perusing in my opinion.

Kaizer mate I don't think benteke is like Carroll. He's quicker, stronger and I think marginally better with the ball at his feet. That being said we need someone who will complement sturridge when he's fit and be able to play as alone striker when sturridge is out. Is benteke that striker? I don't think so! Hope we are all wrong if we do sign him.

Red-Rum

Out of interest. Were you a fan of 6'2" Diego Costa when he was linked? Or would he not suit our style of play either?

You see I rather suspect we will be playing a system very similar to Chelsea next season. 4-2-3-1 morphing into diamond 4-4-2 or 3-5-2.

6.) 01 Jul 2015 12:58:58
prove me wrong benteke. fulfill your potential here, if your coming.

7.) 01 Jul 2015 13:22:26
I don't think anyone hates him gs ,we just can't understand why ,he is a player who needs crosses from the bi-line and that's not the way we play ,so if he's signed as a plan b it's a lot of money to spend while lambert could do that

8.) 01 Jul 2015 13:38:29
I'm not a fan of target men in general as they don't suit the style I want us to play. The same style that brought us within touching distance of the title in 13/14. But in answer to your question, if we had to have a target man, like Benteke, Costa would be a better option than the ones I listed above.

I don`t understand where people get this rubbish idea that just because we have reservations on a player`s ability to help our team, is suddenly classed as hatred for said player. It seems that people can`t distinguish simple disagreements from hatred. Baffling, really.

10.) 01 Jul 2015 15:11:19
@redohio, totally agree. I think some people like drama so try to pretend we are looking to hang players upside down outside the club until they get lost!

11.) 01 Jul 2015 15:59:07
Well just say you don't fancy him and he wouldn't fit the system rather than making things up about players like 75% of his goals come from crosses (really) and he's lazy (based on the comments of his international manager after ONE match). Every player has an off day, no energy etc so why take one isolated incident and create a damning verdict on a players whole career from it? I don't mind anyone backing up what they say up but if people (myself included) talk ballcocks then they should expect to get picked up on it. If people like reading the same rubbish every day good luck to them.
