90 min.com running story linking Rafa with return to Liverpool. .

The link is entirely speculative and works as follows:

1) Rafa is leaving Napoli despite having an offer to stay. Rumour is he wants to return to England and it's a safe bet Liverpool would be his first choice.

2) Rodgers is not on firm ground here.

3) Therefore Rafa might become Liverpool manager.

Note the word "might". There's no definite suggestion anywhere in the media that the club will sack Rodgers and there's no suggestion that they want Rafa if they do sack Rodgers.

2.) 17 May 2015 20:54:57
My choice would be:-

1) Klopp

2) Emery

3) Ancelotti

4) Rafa

5) Bielsa

Not that I am anti Rafa, he loves Liverpool. I just think the others are more interesting.

If none of the others are available I would still be happy with Rafa.

Something Red, you are right, there is no suggestion anywhere that Rodgers will get sacked. That's because the people that matter- FSG, haven't said a word about it at all. Its only their opinion that matters in regards to hiring and firing managers, what's posted in the media means nothing as they themselves have said nothing.

Now that we have Sturridge back I wonder if BR might try to create a Sturridge & Balotelli partnership & alter the formation to suit.
What are your thoughts Ed?

Robkop

{Ed001's Note - why would you want him to change the formation to suit a lazy *person* that can't be bothered? Just leave Balotelli where he belongs, anywhere but on our pitch.}

Ed001, why don't you tell us what you really think! ;)

Ed001 I'm a bit surprised to see you turn on balotelli like that. He deserves another chance. I would normally be right with you but his attitude hasn't been bad since he joined. Should we not give him and sturridge at least a few more a Shots?

I still think the tottenham game was one of our best. I can understand that Mario is a frustrating player and I get mad at him just like you. If this were anyone but balotelli people would be complaining "Why doesn't BR give this lad a shot?"

{Ed002's Note - Balotelli has been fined by the club on three, or possibly four, occasions. The club actively tried to sell him in January.}

Like him or loathe him but Rafa has just led his team to another trophy win.
Valencia, Liverpool, Inter, Chelsea & Napoli have all won silverware under Rafa

Can you elaborate on why Rafa has not got much support at Board Level?
Board that decided to replace him with Hodgson & new board who did not consider him before Rodgers.
Seems strange to me, decent owners & Rafa = success? Surely?

According to Ed, FSG are already exploring replacements for BR.
My dream ticket would be Rafa Benitez with Carra as his assistant.
However I feel that Rafa will not be considered. Can the Eds shed any light why Rafa was not interviewed last time round? I thought that Rafa working with decent owners would be a massive success after his over achieving during the H&G nightmare.

{Ed002's Note - There were lots of people not interviewed. Perhaps the owners are not so obsessed with the past as some of the supporters and are looking to the future - which many here seem completely unable to do.}
