I love Klopp and I wouldn’t replace him for anyone but it must be said he didn’t win enough for the super team he had, even if he did build and develop that team.

1 league and 1 CL in 7 years isn’t good enough considering the likes of VVD Mane Salah Firmino Allison Trent Robbo etc. at his disposal. May never see that kind of quality in every position ever again.

You can name all the other majors he won but the 2 big ones are the ones we all care about every season.

He’s still a legend but it’s a bit sad how it turned out given the incredible squad he built.

Not his fault though Boberto. He was up against a City side that has unlimited funds. The fact that he pushed them close to the title on two occasions is a huge achievement in my eyes.

I agree, Drac.
His biggest legacy, for me, is the ride we've been on in those seven years. The enjoyment of winning games and playing some superb football. The anticipation and excitement of playing in the biggest games right through til the end of the season.
Football is a distraction from everyday life and it has been a wonderful one, personally.

Danke, Jürgen Norbert Klopp.

City's unlimited spend is a bit of a myth, they could afford to do it but they don't. If the Cancelo deal goes through that's a net spend of £450 million since Pep took over, so an average of about £65 million a year. It's not absurd spending.

4.) 01 Feb 2023 13:08:11
It's not like he has had that team for 7 years though, it's more like 4 and we just need to admit we came up against a very good city side, domestically at least.

On the European stage the only team that dominated was Madrid, any other side would bite their hand off at our recent record in the CL.

Good Heavens Rigsby, that is now two of your recent posts that i absolutely echo and endorse, you could not have put it better for me "well done".

Thom city have been big spending before pep came in mate!
Klopp did miracles with the budget he had! it just a pity he didn’t keep on top of it Bringin in more and more talent each window to push what he had and it’s caught up!
This LFC made the epl non boring we put it up to city and anyone else I just think the clatter it’s stopped has caught us all by suprise!
I hope klopps learnt a bit from this transition and becomes more ruthless in his ways!
We will be back no doubt!

We are very fortunate to support who we support and to have had the success we’ve had. To have the CL finals in particular is something the vast, vast, vast majority of football fans will never experience. We’ve had 3 in 5 years with Klopp.
I’ve certainly not given up hope of many more to come in my lifetime either.

As a child I got to witness us winning the lot. The only thing that has outshone that is over the last few years I’ve gotten to take my son to Anfield to witness him watching us win the lot.

Sad? Really?

You want to be thanking your lucky stars Bobinho it’s been a hell of a ride and it’s not finished yet!

10.) 01 Feb 2023 14:45:28
I think with better tactics in the most recent CL final we would have won but it is a game of 90 mins and playing two injured players was a stupid gamble that didn’t put off. Madrid were not that great and we insisted on kicking the ball down Courtois’ throat.

Also losing the league by one point is galling, to do it twice? We are the champions of being top of the league at Christmas and failing to win the league. So is it money, luck, players not turning up against the lower sides or bad tactics?

11.) 01 Feb 2023 14:17:21
OP, disagree respectfully. It took Klopp 3 years to build the team that would eventually challenge City starting from the 18/ 19 season and that fact is NOT to be glossed over, IMO. It was part of the process judging by the mess BR left behind. It's not like he was like Pep who came into the deepest squad at City that had already had 1bn spent on it and spent an additional 200m in his first window.

So essentially, he has only been challenging City for 4 years and in those years, we have won the absolute lot, something City have NOT done despite Pep having the ability to spend whatever he wants. So for me, Im happy we won everything under Klopp esp. when many in English football didn't think he could do it and called him essentially a Happy Loser who gives great hugs after losing. Could we have won more? Of course BUT we could have won less as well so you take the good with the bad cos it's not like you can win all the time. Even City and RM don't win all the time.

12.) 01 Feb 2023 14:23:00
Thom43, sorry there is NO myth here regarding City's spending. Pep alone has spent 1.23bn on players since he arrived and counting. Klopp has spent approaching 700m in the same span of time. That is a spending advantage of 2 to 1. Those are the numbers. They are what they are. It is what it is. You picking the Cancelo talking point does not remove from the facts posted above.

Oh, Im not even going to add the ability of City's owners (more like govt officials) to move money around their consortium of clubs by selling players from one club that they own to another one along with other inherent advantages their deep pockets have over us who actually run the club as a business. Again, NO myth here.

13.) 01 Feb 2023 16:46:50
Net spend is irrelevant thom43 ?.

14.) 01 Feb 2023 17:33:40
OP, your 1st post here is to talk down Klopp's achievements. Gee I wonder why.

How is he only 18… he’s our best midfielder and not only defensively, he can spray a ball cross field as well, proper exciting player, exciting times ahead with him regardless of this season ?.
