What would stop Liverpool signing mbappe on a free putting him on huge wages then selling him down the track for 100+ million?

What if FSG have already approved his signing and come 1st September he just walks into anfield.

As my mother used to say in times of exasperation - Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
Eds you can feel free to use that, it saves on the typing.

I think it’s logical that Klopp would be super frustrated having little to spend most years and watching Chelsea City and United spending like they do and yet expected to beat these teams and other huge spenders in Europe.

Ozyred31

{Ed0666's Note - hes gone on record many times and said exactly the opposite of what you’ve said.

1.) 05 Aug 2021 04:58:43
The man has made a career out of working with limited resources, in comparison to others, and producing results. If anything he's probably received the most financial support, here at LFC.

2.) 05 Aug 2021 03:19:11
Ed0666 - Whilst Klopp probably answered honestly when he’s said that, do you not sometimes wonder what he’d be able to do with Guardiola’s budget?

{Ed0666's Note - I’m not sure he actually means what he says with regards to transfer budgets. Isn’t there a certain satisfaction to be had from winning titles/trophies with less resources. Not exactly David & Goliath but you get my gist

3.) 05 Aug 2021 05:49:30
I believe he would be spending every pound at his disposal if there was more he would spend more if the owners said we can get mbappe for 100 million he would rip their arm off not say no thanks I can win it with Danny ings lol.

4.) 05 Aug 2021 05:49:55
Unquestionably there is, the fight to win is always the most satisfying part. However, we saw what Klopp could do when provided with investment (Summer 2018) closer to what Guardiola and Solskjaer regularly receive, and it was unbelievable. I think players would line up outside the ground to play for Klopp if he had the funds to get them.

5.) 05 Aug 2021 05:52:58
In his time here he has bought the (then) most expensive goalkeeper in the world and the (again then) most expensive centre half in the world. It’s not like the owners say ‘no’ all the time is it.

As Ed02 has said, the owners are an investment company who want to make the most profit they can from Liverpool. The problem at the moment is ‘the hand to mouth’ business model has been stuffed by C.V..

I suspect - C.V. not withstanding and assuming FSG the pay back still being on an upward trend - the more speculative signings may return.

Whoops came over a bit sensible then, apologies.

6.) 05 Aug 2021 07:17:29
Klopp has not had little to spend. I think he has spent circa £440 million which is an insane amount of money and far more than any previous LFC manager.
The only problem is that in the same time City have topped that by a mouth watering £250 million 😳😳. How they do it? No idea.

7.) 05 Aug 2021 07:36:18
TIR, In the same time Klopp has been here he’s managed to sell a lot of assets too, I know it’s not black and white though but we’ve done well with sales when he’s been in charge.
I think this season and probably last we need a freshen up of young players and probably need to spend a fair amount. Konate is a good signing and a midfielder and forward who can also challenge for a starting role and are the younger side of 25 ideally.

8.) 05 Aug 2021 09:00:17
It isn't Klopp that gets frustrated with other teams spending big, it's the fans.
Klopp has gone on record several times saying he doesn't understand the culture of fans in England with their constant screaming for expensive signings. He prefers to find solutions within.
But a large quantity of fans don't want to hear that, they want bragging rights on social media with a new expensive shiny shiny as AW said the other day.

9.) 05 Aug 2021 09:20:28
VVD, Allison, Fabhino, Thiago, Salah, Mané, Jota, Gini, OX, Naby - not worked put but cost more than most preciously mentioned…. And now Konate

Couldn’t agree more shoe string budget

Yes the owners are in it for the money, thats’s football these days unfortunately. Would one rather support a team like Chelsea, quiet for 50years and need plastic flags to wave on CL nights - I’ve been and witnessed it. Man United - a number on the stock exchange and a club that needed a sound engineer to look at ways to improve the atmosphere of a 75,000 stadia. We all know about city….

10.) 05 Aug 2021 10:13:30
LoweLFC do you imagine what klopp would be able to do with Klopps budget? Say win a league, Champions league, Super cup and World club cup in 2 seasons? Just imagine mate.

11.) 05 Aug 2021 12:55:58
Redjoe21 - My comments are not to denigrate Klopp as a manager - he’s an absolutely fabulous coach, the best in the world and the greatest LFC manager in my lifetime by one heck of a margin. The fact he has won what he has, on a comparatively small budget when factoring in player sales, just makes me wonder what he could do if he had perhaps more at his disposal. It is highly unlikely we will see someone of Klopp’s brilliance take the reigns at any club for a long time, and while we have him it would be interesting to see how much hay he could make while the sun shines so to speak.

12.) 05 Aug 2021 14:15:59
LoweLFC I know what you mean bud but the prices of players in footbal is nothing short of a disgrace.

I'm a firm believer that what players are worth should be set by an independent panel and each club allowed to make one marque signing so to speak each season. It would level the playing field completely.
