News coming out from a few journalists saying that it is unlikely Shaqiri will leave today after interest eventually wained. No idea if it's true, just passing it on.

I for one would be very happy if Shaq stays. Maybe to help with HG quota we could let Adrian go and finally sign Butland!
Or is Heaton nearly fit yet? Forster perhaps? Or Angus Gunn?
Hard to pick just one dodgy English keeper from so many! LOL.

I don't generally as a rule call out our players but Adrian is not up to being our back up keeper. He is prone to mistakes in every game and he seems to get beaten at shots that Alison would save without issue.

I'd sooner allow one of our youth keepers get a chance, could it be any worse.

Also Keita has now been in the Premier league long enough, yet he hasn't progressed. This career has completely regressed and we need to move him on ASAP. I know that suitors for him will be minimal but the gamble hasn't paid off.

When Alison was out for a long time Adrian was our stand-in and he was excellent if memory serves. Now he is struggling for confidence and everyone has turned on him. Against Villa the whole team were awful especially the defence which won't help the keeper at all. I know he made mistakes but no worse than the rest of the team.

Bang on tongo, with him last year he helped us win ten on the bounce, Or something to that effect.

A number two keeper is the hardest position to fill and he’s he makes the odd mistake but so does every other player. The difference is more often then not a keepers mistake will be punished.

Now that Iv calmed down on reflection the team was awful, not just Adrian. How many of those goals would Alison of saved realistically. We still would have lost just from the deflection goals.

Adrian was not excellent at all when filling in for allison at this stage last season. In the first few games he made howlers against Southampton, Leicester, Brighton to name a few while we managed to scrape wins to spare his blushes and therefore everybody quickly forgot his awful panic he bought into our defensive concentration. He cost us with errors which saw us knocked out of both fa cup and CL so I'm not having the argument that he was ever a good option as no.2 keeper. Just because the team manages to get good results doesn't mean he was playing a part that helped us. Mignolet was our GK in a team which nearly won a league, karius was our GK who nearly won a CL, doesn't mean they automatically deserve credit for having positive influence towards the teams success.

Id be very worried if Adrian is relied upon for the large number of games we will play without Alison as he's no where near reliable. His lack of commanding when sweeping behind our defence and inability to pass confidently with his feet will add huge weakness to our game. I can't believe how many are still relaxed and trusting that he is good enough for our high standards and can't see the huge number of errors already within just 12 months of letting us down.

I'm very worried at how much more vulnerable we instantly become and it only gives our opponents more of a boost when they know that shots from distance or pressing our keeper when he has the ball has a much higher success rate than alisson who rarely gives anything away.
