What’s this I’m hearing about a deal agreed with nunes to sign for us after wolves? What on earth am I hearing?, any truth? ?apparently we have an agreement or something like that I don’t even know.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, Liverpool have a pre-contract agreement for Nunes to jin when his contract with Wolves runs out in 2027.}

Dhfc, not necessarily true. I posted a while back to explain that we tend to prefer to pay a premium for players once they are proven in the premier league - we did that with Virgil, Jota, may do it with Caicedo etc. Nunes came for c£38m and the fee being mooted (for the end of the year) is £44m. The extra £6m comes having seen him play in the PL.

We could, as many posters clamour for, buy players directly from lower leagues - Enzo was only £10-£15m a few months ago for example - but they come with a higher risk than players who have already performed in our league, or indeed other top leagues in Europe.

That's not to say we ONLY buy from the prem - look at Nunez, Gakpo etc - but it certainly reduces the risk if there are any doubts about a player.

Nunes not what we need. We need a combative midfielder urgently - we have Thiago for our ball playing CM for now. Need someone who can press and win the ball.
