Hi eds,

Seem to be linked with Kone again. You mentioned he is going elsewhere as we made no approach. Any idea where and has a deal been agreed with another team? Shame we have not made an approach.

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - There are discussions with another team and another very keen as well.}

Read report that say Liv are discussing with Frankfurt regarding Lindstrom. I know you say that we are one of the interested side Ed. Is this true? Have we declared interest in him or having discussions with his club?

{Ed002's Note - I have explained tgat Liverpool are keen and have a declared interest.}

Ed2 called this 1 ages ago.

Apparently, in an interview in 2022, Lindstrom said he's a Liverpool fan. Our transfer strategy this summers seems to be focused on that a lot. Hope it works out, unlike what happened with Odegaard.

Isn't Lindstrom more of a forward player? Think we're pretty well stocked in that position?

He could be a Salah replacement.

Johnny, he's a bit like Lallana i think.

He plays right of a front 3 for Frankfurt, but i think he could easily play in our midfield. He's versatile. Right wing, false 9, number 10 etc. Perfect Bobby replacement in my opinion.

Lindstrom is my ideal signing for the attack. But, bringing him in kind of clouds what exactly we will be doing with Gakpo and the stock pile of LWs we have. Maybe a case of get him in then figure out out later as I think he is worth it.

Thanks for the info folks. Still not convinced he sounds like a priority signing based on that though unless we have a plan to sell one or two of our forward line.

“A bit like Lallana”, “perfect Bobby replacement” in the same sentence.

Ed002, on March 25th you said no clubs had declared an interest in Lindstrøm. Have we declared an interest in him in the last week?

And sorry for the stupid question. If we have a declared interest now, does it mean we are highly likely to place a bid for him or have we already discussed something with Frankfurt?

Thanks in advance!

{Ed002's Note - Jesper Lindstrom (AM/LW/RW) Eintracht Frankfurt have said that they are aware of scouts from many sides have watched the player this season. These sides include Liverpool, Brentford and Spurs. Arsenal have spoken with his agent after spotting him whilst scouting another player. Spurs can now be discounted. Arsenal and Liverpool have asked Eintracht Frankfurt for talks. Even with a bloated squad, EF want to keep the player given they know they will be losing key players this summer.}

I've only watched a few highlights of him and his nothing like Lallana or Bobby he is a wide attacking player long term Salah replacement? but also looks good playing on the left side so would fit in well with all the others.

FPF, he doesn't need to be like Bobby to be the perfect replacement. Gakpo is very similar to Bobby and is already here. We also have Jota and Nunez who can play through the middke. What wee need is competition for Salah on the right, and better quality in midfield. Lindstrom offers both of those things.

Garythered, that's fine mate but I've watched him in actual full games and he definitely reminds me of Lallana. Quick feet, tight turns, glides with the ball, hard working etc. So agree to disagree. Don't forget Lallana played on the left of the attack for Southampton before he joined us.

Adam, would he be a good option if we did sell Jota?

Think a few of us had agreed if Jota left we might be a bit short in terms of senior players - given what Ed2 has said about his versatility and yourself as well, it seems he could cover a lot of options and be a solid starter in any of them.

He's very different to Jota. Jota is a more direct runner, but also more of a poacher who gets on the end of loose balls and crosses. Lindstrom is better in the build up phases and tidier in possession. He's highly unlikely to ever be a 20 goal a season player in my opinion.

But then with Jota unable to stay fit for long enough to find form i doubt he'll ever score 20 goals in a season again either. There are shades of Oxlade-Chamberlain about Jota's career trajectory and selling now mighy be wise. If we got Lindstrom, I'd happily let Jota and Firmino go and give more minutes to Carvalho or Doak.
