Phillips isn't awful. Thuram is the special one amongst the ones we're interested in. He'd be brilliant for us under klopp.

Phillips is a horrendously bad player, one paced, defensively incompetent, injury prone, zero intelligence and overweight. There’s literally no reason to sign him. City only bought him for his passport. Thuram is ok but isn’t much of a defensive midfielder. Plus Nice are owned by Jim Radcliffe, currently looking to part own United, so hardly likely to want to sell to us. The smart move would be Andre Trindade.

I’d rather we signed nobody than waste money on a player like Phillips, who is unfit, injury prone and nowhere near good enough as well as being at the wrong end of his career.
