I get why we have paid a premium for VVD now but what is the rush for Barcelona over Couts? Top of their league and big favourites to win it, and he's cup tied for CL? With Keita coming in end of season and the chance for us to look at others, and Barcelona able to sell some, why the urgency? I think we're all resigned to him leaving just not mid season when top four is going to be a real struggle.

Could be that with WC coming up, him having a stellar one with Brazil leads to more suitors lining up. Perhaps they are afraid of a potential bidding war?
