Are any of the eds slightly baffled by this Konate signing - assuming the rumours are true? He's only played 11 first team games for RBL this season and only 8 last season. It feels like we're taking a massive £30m ish gamble (when money is tight as hell) based purely on the potential he showed 2 years ago.

{Ed077's Note - I too think it is a bit of a risk but it's the job of the medical team to determine whether or not he has fully gotten over the previous injuries and if they have any long term implications.

OP, Nabil Fekir had way more injury issues and a way worse injury history than Konate has yet majority of LFC fans were not bothered about it. Konate has only had one bad injury and nothing more. Van Nistelrooy had a dreadful knee injury before he signed for Utd and Fergie still signed him. I can keep going. The medical dept must have done their due diligence on him and made the call.

The kid just turned 21 so it is normal that his body gets some niggles and knocks as he develops physically and that is not even the case here. One bad injury does not make you injury prone. Not in the least. Oh and one more thing, there is nothing “massive” about a 30m fee. Not anymore anyway.

77 have to say I don’t think out medical Team are great we’ve too many flakes in the team we don’t need another.

{Ed077's Note - but you also have the likes of Salah, Wijnaldum and Robbo.}

If he can have better luck going forward with injuries and is as good as people say £30m is a bit of a bargain for a 21 year old. With Virg and Gomez there he can afford to have a bedding in perìod aswell. I know everyone thinks he's a definite starter but he's going to have to be very very good to break up that VVD/ Gomez partnership.

And if it wasn't for the thugs across the park.
