That result really tees up the next season nicely - City will be hurting, Liverpool should be back on track with VVD and Konate/ Gomez returning, Chelsea will have their tails up, and Man Utd should be decent enough to be well worth beating.

I just hope we don't sell any of our main forwards (unless we replace), and we get in one solid midfielder to replace Gini and who's able to back up Fabinho if necessary (can then also sell Shaqiri, Keita and less Jones/ Elliott step up)

I think we have a good team as if now to push for the title.

I know most on here are not interested in keita but I will still want to test him out in the pre season before taking a decision.
We all know he is some player. He has had ample time to show that but he hasn't even shown a glimpse. I think 3 months more for him to sort it out or its goodbyes. he won't have euros so he has a month for fitness and learning the language at least some. A month to train and a month of preseason to showcase he has what it takes.
If he comes good and again there is a very little chance of it happening but if does he solves a lot of problems for us so id take that chance. there is no way we can't sell him w. o. a monumental loss so I guess one final chance!
Maybe we could put a mentor on him to burn his demons and get that football out of him.

{Ed0666's Note - I would rather sell keita and replace him with nehaus if it’s true the German has a €28 million release clause. Keita is too injury prone and we can’t have two midfielders (ox and keita) missing large swathes of the season respectively.

My fear for next season is simply regardless of who we sell and replace them with City will go balmy in the market after last night. Reports are even before K. O. they were planning on selling Sterling and Mahrez, so there's 100 million in sales, so that's Harry Kane brought. Add two more 100 million pound signings say Halland and one other and that's a team that won't loose more than three games in the league next season. We will have a cracking team if everyone is fit, but that's a worry as well as VvD, Gomez and Konate have all had long term injuries this season so may take a while to get fully up to speed. But all that being said if we can reach the levels of a few years ago and stay there all season ourselves and Chelsea will be the only team that can compete with City. But we need to be on it from minute one and stay there all season.

28 million is a bargain but this season showed that fab needs to play ever single game and if he can't we need someone who can replace him because we loose with out him its that simple.

Kimurang, the question is, who’s going to pay them the big bucks for Maghreb and Sterling? I think they’ll not have the interest they’re hoping for, Sterling isn’t interested in going to a club outside of the champions league or not competing for the title, which limits him fo three clubs in the premier league, one of which is us, and all bridges are burnt here so that’s a non starter, United are after other targets (Sancho) and I can’t see City selling to their neighbours and Chelsea are overloaded with wingers and wouldn’t likely be interested, as for Mahrez, he’s 30 years old and I can’t imagine them drumming up much interest at a big price and again, he’s not going to want to play for a club not in the champions league.

Trust me ed i want a new midfielder as much as any fan and for 28 yes I will put it on nehaus who looks like a quality player.
But i fear we won't be able to get rid of keita that easily. Ox can be sold and ofcourse we have enough players to sell to actually buy nehaus.
I really want keita to do well. He was unbelievable at leipzig and i was one of the very happier ones when we got him. But don't think things will work out for him. Wonder if a move to back to leipzig is on the cards?

{Ed0666's Note - he was sensational in the bundesliga and I too was overjoyed when we signed him but the simple fact is he’s not lived up to expectations and has off field issues. Time to say goodbye but line you say will be very difficult to find a buyer. Not sure wether Leipzig will take him back mate no idea on that one.

Keita needs to go and I think Klopp is fed up with him now. Now at the same time, I doubt it will happen cos who is going to take up those wages he’s on and we may want a bit too much for him hence, making him difficult for him to move. We shall see.

Now as for Neuhaus, I don’t have an opinion on him as I have never seen him play so if any of the posters can describe his attributes and how he suits us then, it would be much appreciated.
