Didn't Van Gaal help nurture a lot of excellent youngsters at Ajax? If so I'm surprised at his attitude towards Memphis. I never understand managers and coaches publicly criticising players, surely it's counter productive and any issues should be dealt with in house. Besides Giggs wasn't exactly an Angel with his off field activities so maybe he should have tried the arm round the shoulder option.

Really good article again. Maybe it is an age thing, but I think coming to your websites more to read the articles now than the rumours. I have been meaning to make a donation for a while now, I will try to donate something tonight.

Never knew Depay had such a tough upbringing. It just goes to show how mental health issues can affect us all, no matter how much money we have. Have you done any articles on footballers and mental health. I have read a few interviews recently of footballers with gambling addictions. I find it a bit annoying when sport stars appear in gambling adverts when it is such a rampant problem along with other forms of addiction that probably affects people they played with.
