Very worried about Fabinho. He’s playing every minute in midfield on his own. He’s already dropped off from his peak 2 years ago but we’re going to end up running him into the ground. I think we need 2 of Fabinho Arthur Keita Thiago on the pitch together at all times which is going to be rare. PSG and Roma have replaced Wijnaldum before us! Bajcetic is young but if the title gets any further away we have nothing to lose by throwing him in.

Carvalho and Elliot together was a risk in a game like that, but I think it's a risk that Jurgen will be slow to take again. Arthur or Milner will probably start in most of our midfielders until Thiago or Henderson are back.

A mistake that Klopp compounded by bringing on Bobby a false 9 for Carvalho a false 9, which left us short in midfield. again.

All that stuff that some were saying about about having a lot of midfielders and that our options were as good as City’s looks like the guff that it was. Too many injury prone midfielders, too many that should have been moved on, not enough quality or just an ability to stay injury free and absolutely no suitable quality in depth to cover Fabinho (please don’t @ me with “but Milner or Henderson can play there”, because they can’t, just a matter of cold hard fact) .

We should have some something about midfield in the summer, we didn’t, and now we’ll pay the inevitable price. This dumb idea of “we’re waiting for the perfect midfielder” looks more and more stupid every time we lose points. I feel for Fabinho as he can’t get any respite. If you fail to prepare, you should be prepared to fail.

Arthur was the obvious choice alongside Fabinho and give Elliott the freedom to carry the ball forward.

The midfield is desperate for a dribbler somebody who can drive forward with the ball and create space for the attackers to run into.

We are so predictable average teams and Managers can comfortably nullify us as we seem to struggle with ideas on how to break them down.

Once again the finishing was woeful, how many times did we shoot straight at the keeper?

Liverpool getting a corner has become a waste of time as well, i thought we had put that behind us, but we have only gone backwards in that area- delivery and shot both poor.

“Liverpool getting a corner has become a waste of time as well”

Could have sworn we scored twice from corners the other day. Let’s not interfere with the doom and gloom though, made up stuff is so much juicier.

We started the second half looking much better with firmino picking up dangerous positions. I think klopp should have stuck with how we were for atleast another 10 minutes. Bringing on milner at rb at that point was bizarre and changed what momentum we had instantly as the ball went straight past him every time. I get klopp is probably worried about injuries and is rotating more than he'd like. But we can't afford to keep dropping points atm. We are really lacking a box to box running machine that can cover space left by others.

I do think more could and should have been done with our midfield over the summer. Even a Martian could see that.

I’m not sure how Arthur Is the obvious choice to sign, it is clear our midfield lacked dynamism, athleticism or physical presence of any kind, words not associated with Arthur. Denis Zakkaria would have made more sense if a loan was all we were after. This isn’t going to get better any time soon with the midfield players we’ve got. The only reason Arthur was an obvious choice was because he was cheap, Juve we’re desperate to get him off their wage bill and he was available to loan. Maybe Naby and Ox will come good, eh?
