Going off of what the eds have suggested and my own interpretations, I would imagine our transfer window may include:

- a second goalkeeper, such as Horn or Zieler.
- a centre-back in the form of Ndicka.
- a Fabinho replacement in Thuram.
- Matheus Nunes as the centre-midfielder.
- Lindstrøm as the Firmino replacement.

If that is even close to our transfer activity in the Summer, then we are in real trouble.

I also suspect, as much as I am against the idea, that Klopp will push for Mount and get him at an over inflated price. Ala, Ox being out of contract in one year, and Liverpool spend 40 million on him, knowing this fact.

I think there will be 1 more major signing on top of something like your prediction. Hopefully Bellingham.

I’d prefer
Bellingham
Rabiot
Ndikia

Then take it from there.

If FSG shirk on spending this summer, they can expect to see the club's valuation fall, and maybe for Jurgen to resign before the end of his contract.
Then they might promote Pep-what a treat that would be.

Rabiot is a trouble maker. No thanks.
Nunes, after his average season? What a master stroke getting the agent to see how he beds in at a feeder side before wasting loads of cash on him.

Isn’t it Rabior’s mum who is the ‘sand in the Vaseline’? Rabiot himself is just a footballer with a crap advisor?

That would be an absolutely AWFUL transfer window. As spaceman said, FSG can expect to see the club’s valuation to fall if they duck out of spending this summer, and I would say by a significant amount. It would only take a couple of seasons outside the CL for half a billion to be wiped off the valuation.

I agree that we may be a signing or two short if that window transpires, but I do not think that would be a bad window:

- Zieler/ Horn are experienced, thus key for the development of Pitaluga, who may eventually replace Alisson.
- Ndicka could potentially replace Virgil, but in reality he will replace Matip - a decent upgrade.
- Nunes has not set the world alight, and he is the one I am most apprehensive about. However, he certainly has talent - leave it to Klopp to hone it.
- Thuram looks class: a decent Fabinho replacement, who has been shocking all season.
- Lindstrøm oozes class - a perfect Bobby replacement, or cover for the right wing when/ if Salah has dips in form.

Although I believe that the transfer market is key for the future of our club, I believe there are other factors that are equally - if not more - important, including the backroom staff (a new assistant manager, a new sporting director) ; previous tactics need to be revived or new tactics require new players to play differently; and figuring out how to manage youth, including Ramsey, Carvalho, Elliott, Bajcetic, Morton, Doak, Clarkson (perhaps), Bradley, Beck (if Kostas is to indeed to phased out) .

Thoughts everyone (including the eds)?

That’s comfortably Europa league place for the next season then. Mediocrity breeding this page.

The FSG-Klopp “we’re poor” and “we do it differently” propaganda working to a tee I see.

In no particular order and off the top of my head, most people on here were underwhelmed when we bought Hendo, Robbo, Bobby, Fabs, VVD (attitude), Sadio (attitude), Mo (failed at Chelsea) and we requite happy when we signed Naby. Seems to me, despite all the in-depth analysis one reads on here, that perhaps we are not always totally accurate in our assessment of what potential new players might be able to achieve.

WDW - you'll never get consensus on players. That is part of the fun of this page I guess.

For what it's worth, I was over the moon when we signed Bobby, Fab and Naby. I was definitely sceltical about the others you list but glad they proved me wrong.

I think what has changed more recently is that we have left problem positions neglected for whole seasons (centrebacks in 2021, midfielders over the last 2 years) and also bought players that don't seem to have an obvious fit for the system.

Awk we've signed dome crackers for hardly record sums haven't we? (Salah, Mane)

Also we have spent heavily on the right players (VVD and Allison)

Also, some decent free transfers as well (Matip, Milner)

I'd imagine our summer transfer will be a mix of all 3, the likes of Bellingham, a 40m cm, Ndicka perhaps - I think we'll operate as we have previously

I think Klopp needs backed and would have loved him to have been better backed than he has

That said, we have spent big money when the 'right' players have become available, namely VVD and Allison. I think Bellingham is such a player

I would love Gvardiol as well if I'm honest, but we'd have to bring in a bit via sales to do both. Not impossible, but perhaps difficult to do it all in one window tbh

But would Bellingham, Ndicka and a 40m cm be a decent window?

Obviously others could come, but that would depend on who else goes. It is sales of players I think will be important as we have a very bloated squad atm, and in reality, how many of those are genuinely pushing for starting positions?
