Debate based on eds' opinions of Klopp; ed1 is a big fan of how he seems to improve what he has got, ed2 is less impressed, citing mainly tactical deficiencies.

So, early impressions of Herr Klopp from you lot?

Time will tell. As kloppo himself has said, this season is his team, his players and his real yardstick to be judged. We have an awful opening 6 games. I hope our season doesn't begin and end in August/ Sept like it usually does.

He's the best manager for our club and will make things happen over the coming years. no doubts at all.

Has won nothing yet and took the team to 8th in the league when in charge for the mojority of the season. Has proven nothing so far. i'm hoping for a massive improvement this season.

I love kloop he is the best thing happend to us in years. i'm very sure we will be around the champions league spot for atleast few years. I don't see us chalenging yet but will surely play good footy and get in to the later stages for other cups. But i totally agree with ed002 that his system is found out. He has to change his system based on the opposition. The first and the most important thing for lfc and kloop should be a change in player recruitment. I am a big fan of how Sevilla works, even how our premier leaugue champions do their bussiness. We have to find the right balance in being successfull on the pitch and in our bussiness. that's the main reason i would have preferred Emery as my first choice. But i'm very very happy having Kloop.

I think Klopp was by far the best option for us. The way he worked at Dortmund is exactly the same as the position we are in. We just need patience. I don't think this up and coming season will be ours, we will get there but I think it will take another 2-3 seasons. He's already trimmed down the youth set up and seems more willing to give them chances. The wage bill has been trimmed and we are still looking to trim it further. Benteke and Balo gone would help still further. We are obviously in need of a LB and must admit am a bit disappointed and disillusioned as to the fact we'll blow £25m on Wijnaldum but won't on Hector, we refused to spend £10m on Chilwell, will spend on luxury signings but not on priories. This I don't get. I have faith in Klopp and there's still time this window. Maybe Klopp has spoken to Miliner regarding LB and they have been working on it in training and Klopp has seen something he thinks he can work with. Maybe he still thinks he can bring Moreno on. We just don't know, yes LB rankles but I have faith. i'm still not convinced on midfield either but I have high hopes for Grujic so am willing to judge this again after the up and coming season. I know I come across as negative sometimes but I do have faith but at the same time I tend to speak my mind and say whatever I'm thinking at the time lol. Time will tell for us all. YNWA.

The best manager we could hope for.

not impressed with his transfers or with a couple of players he has or might let go . Can't fault his enthusiasm but that isn't enough . jury is out.

He's solved some obvious problems already, notably
1) developed a identity/ style of play in the squad
2) built a winning/ never say die attitude that was sorely lacking
3) galvanised he supporters to really get behind the team
4) addressed the lack of presence at CB and GK with Matip/ Karius/ Klavan
5) addressed the lack of pace and goals from attacking midfield with Mane and Wijnaldum

The questions still out there in my mind are
1) can he address the lack of a specialist LB that doesn't leak goals
2) how will Hendo/ Can etc. perform at CM given we lack a top experience DM
3) will he be flexible enough to adapt to those days when the high press just isn't working (like vs Sevilla) and figure out another way to win

Overall I'm very very happy with him at the helm, would rather have Klopp Han almost anyone else for us specifically at his stage of our development, we need the fire and passion. I have a feeling we'll be doing great things in the next 2-3 years.

Why not this season Zimbo if Klopp has addressed all these problems?

We're lucky to have him Klopp an Liverpool fit like a glove, the man's a winner. YNWA.

Like I have said before, Klopp is the right man, but, ha, there is always a but, can't se us doing much this season, oh, you might say we were in two Cup Finals last season, but how did we get on, what about the usual silly easy goals conceded, how we fell apart V Seville, I do recall some great games that we won, thinking Man City, sorry, that won't happen this season, all we can do is fully support Klopp and the team that he puts out, this season is about getting his team right, but winning something, that's for the season after this one, by then we will have our team sorted and we can expect some silerware .

guy what with we finished 8th. We were 4 point or so behind 5th so honestly not so far away from 5th. Took us to two finals and we lost but when was the last time we went for a europen finals. So saying he finished 8th and forgetting the other achivements is wrong. He has already improved us. So give him the credit he deserved. And please think before u start typing.

The thing that strikes me about him is that he is not one of those mercenary guys that move every 2-3 years (whether player or manager), looking for the best deal possible. The man has signed for 6 years and that shows a lot in terms of commitment, and a real desire to rebuild LFC and win titles/ cups. It's the best possible thing that could have happened. Consistency. A direction (doesn't matter if we agree or like it or not) that will not waver and not change (in the medium term), and that's really good.

In response to the posts above about Klopp being "found out". So what? Every manager and every team style gets found out. Sometimes one game and sometimes 10 games. Everyone knew what "tiki taka" was all about. But they still couldn't stop it nor stop all the titles being won. After a few games, everyone knew what Leceister was all about. Team cohesion, defend deeply and lightning fast counter attacks. Nobody stopped them from winning the title. So being found out really doesn't matter. As long as the strategy is sound and the team has the players to execute it very well, you can still win, and win for years and years. There's no such thing as "stealth" football.

Hasn't solved the glaringly obvious problem of getting a great Left back or even two. Obvious to every fan, every other team, every commentator/ analyst but looks like we're going into new season with Moreno still there or hoping Milner can be a LB which is also ridiculous.
Some very good signings but the biggest problem is still there, that's very very worrying.
