Well Spurs winning should be a relief for us. Does not matter if they finish above us as long as we get 4th place. If you are not winning the title, 2nd or 3rd or 4th does not matter as long as there is UCL football on offer next season.
Gives Klopp a chance to rest some players in the derby ( yeah I know but beating City in UCL is more important) and makes it easier for Real to pry Hazard away from Chelsea and keep their grubby paws off Salah.

True that, but I would look to rest our better players in the league once top4 is wrapped up. Finishing above Spurs in 3rd place is a luxury, getting past City to have a chance of winning the UCL is LFC's bread and butter. If we get past City, winning the UCl should become our top priority. I would rather put out our best 11 (fully rested and match fit) in a tournament which we actually have a chance of winning (albeit a small chance) rather than look to an extra 500k for league positions. Chelsea are not winning all their remaining league games in a million years so we have some breathing space in the league not to mention our front 3 cannot go on playing a game every 3 days and expecting to be at peak condition all the while.

Chelsea may be inconsistent- but have you seen their remaining fixtures?
They will have had a confidence boost by the time they play us.

The trouble is, if we first finish 4th and Arsenal win the Europa League, I think we would drop out? Is that correct Ed’s?

That being the case, we need to Finish above 4th as you never know, Arsenal could do it.

Ok, that’s good to know. So as it stands, if Arsenal win the EL and we finish fourth, we still go through - do we go into the play off’s in July or do we go straight through to the group stages? I’m a little un sure.

4th only drops out if someone outside the top 4 wins champions league and europa league. but if arsenal win the Europa league would we need to qualify for the group stages if we finished 4th. but I don't see arsenal wining it.

Drogie all 4 go into the group stage mate. Not sure if Arsenal would go into group stage though for winning Europa. If however we somehow finish 5th, Arsenal win Europa and Chelsea/ Spurs/ Utd finish 4th and we win the CL then 4th place drops out as 6 teams cannot go into CL. I really hope I have this correct and if I don't please do not shout at me Ed02 or give me detention 😉.

Indian Buzzer - great to see you talking so hopeful aboit us making the top. There is still a chance that your prediction that we miss top4 and klopp gets fired comes true!


On another note, I really believe we shoild continue to take each game on its merits, play em keep chemsitry and match sharpmess etc. Really don't think we have earned the right to relax at any point of the season!

How can you still be debating this, look how many English teams were in the competition this season, is it any wonder the editors blow a gasket on here at times, how do some of you get through life without being ran over? Use some common sense and think for yourselves for God's sake. The reason IB why we should be looking to finish higher than spurs is you don't want to be involved in the two legged qualifier to get into the champions league, you know like the one we had to play against hoffenhiem this season 🙈🙈.

Waro, there is no two legged qualifier next season. All top4 teams go directly into the UCL group stages from now onwards. Does not matter if we finish 3rd or 4th. I would rather UCL progression over bragging rights with Spurs' fans.

Jayden23, see your never too old to learn, I didn't know they'd scrapped the qualifying game for finishing forth. Still the "if arsenal win the Europa league" we don't get in if finishing fourth. Surely everyone knew that with what happened with United last season.
